This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

No, it is not uncommon. Target does not merchandise their stock based on individual titles, but rather on the SKU from a bulk buy.

It entirely possible that they received a shipment that included titles that they clearanced previously. As it the title is inventoried as part of a new buy, the item returns to its "new" price.

i've seen it before. i bought Prince of Persia for DS for $7, then 2 weeks later more copies arrived...at $20!

The one in the photo is the PC version. I've not seen Wolverine on clearance for the PS360, only the PC/Wii.

What he said. Most PS2 games you find on clearance will not trade for much even at the low prices. Pick them up to play or just to add to your collection.

I know that I was at least one of the people to say that it was on clearance, but after checking out other targets throughout the week, it seems that it was only on clearance at that one store. I dont know if it was a mistake or what, but from now on I'll pretend that that target is ahead of the clearance curve..

Today I picked up wheelman xbox 360 for $9.98. Scanners said it was out of system so I found an employee with a price gun. Gave it to me for last mark down. also picked up 80s mega metal cd for $2.24.

Went to the Target by me today (Rockville, MD), found a bunch of what's listed but almost none of it was on clearance. 360 HDDs were still 99.99, and the lowest prices for most items was 19.99.

The only things that were on clearance were a couple copies of Prototype for PC, and like 40 copies of WWE vs Smackdown or whatever.

Forgot to mention that I found a Dead Space (PS3) at the Fair Lakes, VA store a few days ago. It was still marked 14.98 but rang up 7.48, pretty much the only good game deal I've found at that store for months.

Just stopped at a SuperTarget in Durham, NC that I usually never go to. Found 4 copies of GHWT w/wireless guitar (the "Complete Guitar Game" bundle" (Xbox 360) @ 22.48. Still had the basic GHWT copies (just the game - no controller) clearanced at $34.98.

I don't know about you guys but ALL the PS3 games in my local Target completely vanished. Last week there was Warhawk, GRAW2, RSV, R:FOM, and others, and now there are none. Don't know if this is just a local thing or not, just reporting.

Your not alone, the target in Chicago, on roosevelt only had a bunch of wii games, and 360, as well as about 30-40 pc games. I feel like waiting a couple of weeks until I go back, since I went back on thursday and saw nothing of real value.

I have to agree with hobbie on this, the guy who posted this information more than likely just wants to see our response to his post. For gears 2 to go down to 999 or 998 is amazing in itself. Let alone did anyone else report that it went down in price the past couple of weeks. Seeing it going from 59.99 to 9.98.

Same here. I went to Matteson, IL Target today, and there was not even ONE PS3 game in the clearance section. Mostly PC , Wii, and a few 360 games.

There is something strange going on .............

Add three of my local Targets to the heap - zero PS3 games. However, there was plenty of Wii shovelware and a few 360 games.
