This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in yellow are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

Not sure if this is news or not, thought I'd report. Hit up three Targets yesterday and had a good haul, went back to one location today and noticed that the formerly barren clearance rack had been replenished to capacity. Went to a second location and found that it too had been replenished with mostly the same titles at the same prices. Some finds:

Picked up Section 8 for $14.xx at the Cupertino, CA Target. Nothing really of interest.. just a bunch of Wii, PS2, and sports games. They did have some good 360 sports titles at 75% for those who are interested. Only game in abundance were like 7-9 copies of Saints Row 2.

By the way.. how is Section 8. Thought I'd take the dive and throw down the $15.. but I've been tighter with my gaming money. Any input would be appreciated.

play the demo first..(cough cough) it's not so good...but then again a game for $15 is good! I just couldn't get the controls down and the over the shoulder-zoomed-too-far-out camera is weird.

Still don;t know what the trade in a GS is... But Amazon and BB are both giving $15 for it. Play it for a couple of days (lock in a trade, if you wish). If you like the game, keep it. If you don't, trade it back...

Snagged MLB 09: The Show for $7.48 and Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 for $19.98 (both for PSP) at the Target in Torrington, CT. They had a lot of G-Force for PSP, but I didn't notice the price, sorry. Overall it was pretty slim for that particular Target.

Sorry, didn't mean to single you out specifically, it just seems like every single time someone mentions a coupon or deal again a couple of pages after it was posted, it's followed by someone asking for an explanation. If you did look back and you missed it, then hey, that's cool, but too often it's someone who just dropped into the thread at that spot and didn't even bother looking before asking.

i've seen people go to customer service with a receipt and coupon to try and adjust for other things on recent purchases... you can see if that works

Heh, yeah, when I bought Monster Hunter Freedom Unite and Mirror's Edge yesterday, I was totally kicking myself that I'd taken the expired-but-still-working $10 off two PS3/PSP games coupon out of my wallet this past weekend. But the store that I got them at was way too far off my usual path to make it worth waiting and going back later.

On my trip to pick up Inglorious Basterds and The Hangover on BD I checked the clearance section. Picked up Mirror's Edge PS3 $9.98 and the last copy of The Conduit for $14.98. I have been avoiding CAG lately trying to save money and not see all the deals. But wish I had checked this thread for the points cards. I never have luck with coupons though so I'm sure I'd get told they only work on consoles.

There were two copies of Dead Space, but I wound up grabbing one since there I knew they wouldn't last long enough to see the $9.98 tag. Was close to grabbing RE5 as well, but I've already beaten it on Xbox, so I couldn't really justify a purchase.

I picked up Mini-Ninjas ($12.48) yesterday but passed on Dirt 2 ($12.48) because the 360 coupon that I thought I had in my wallet turned out to be for the PS3. I'm pretty sure that the girl at the register would've accepted any coupon. I also got in on the Inglorious Basterds/G-Force Blu-Ray deals so I gave her about 5 coupons. She just scanned them without even looking at them. A missed opportunity. #-o

Appears they must have brought a bunch of clearance games from the back of the store in Chantilly, VA. 2 big boxes on a dolly in front of the endcap filled with games. They didn't even bother trying to put them on the shelves.

Found the first good deals on Target clearance in awhile. Got Harry Potter: HBP 12.48 and Godfather 2 7.48. Both for PS3, unfortunately the cashier knew the $10 coupon was expired.

Yeah, you're going to have a tough time getting a replacement. Target seems to be extra lame when it comes to stuff like this happening. Whenever I wind up buying any kind of clearanced games from Target, I ALWAYS check the wrapper and shake the case in-store to make sure there is a disc inside (since they don't have the anti-theft casing on them). I usually open them also once out to the car just to make 100% sure.
