Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in gold are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

picked up ski doo challenge for 4.98, figure at that price it's worth a try. a bunch of ps2 games ranging from 13.98 and up and wii cabela dangerous hunts 2009 for 20.98.
Yes, the bookcases have dropped to 75% off at some stores. There's other particle board furniture pretty cheap as well. (Computer desks and at least one of the nicer TV stands).

Dabamus, I don't have a picture but I grabbed one set at 7.48. If I can find more, I'm thinking of frankensteining them together into a custom layout with extra shelves.

Maybe it's the complete lack of video game clearance lately, but I'm searching the entire store extra hard now for cheap stuff. At $30, I had zero interest in the bookcase. But at 75% off, I gotta have it. Curse of being an over-consumer. :)
Yea, I picked 3 more of them up at $14.xx this week. These things things never last to 75% off around here. The only reason I even checked them was because I saw a woman with a couple in her cart last Sunday that were red tagged.

I had picked up a bunch when they were on sale for $20 a while ago and I thought they were a good deal then. At clearance prices its a no-brainer to pick them up. They have helped the organization in my man-cave big time.

I can post a picture of them when I get home from work for you. I can tell you that they are normally in the aisles next to the higher end furniture. They are in blue/green rectangular boxes that are 1' x 3' in size. I think the brand is home essentials or something like that. The boxes are too big and heavy for them to put on a clearance endcap so they usually just tag them in the aisle. I'd just look for the discount furniture aisle and you should see them and other products with the same brand name marked down. There are also black and dark brown versions of the same shelf. Possibly white as well, but not 100% sure.
So is all clearance at Target is YMMV now, not just the prices?

Because Xmen, NGS2, MUA2, Bayonetta and other titles for ps3 are all still full price at all the Targets around here and their are loads of copies....

I did pick up some monster components for PS3 for 10 bucks....
It's ALWAYS been that way, not just "now". ;)
I think the brand is home essentials or something like that.
It is Room Essentials, and they usually abbreviate it to RE and put another word like "decorate" next to it.

I picked up six of the three-shelf bookcases at $4.98 a piece to completely redo the playroom for the kids. $30 for a wall of kid-friendly shelving made the wife happy.

(Also picked up another 5-shelf at $7.48 for my stuff. ;))

Bayonetta still full price in Florida-- also with the new displays up they have 1/3 of the games up they used to have... and once again jack in clearance

Also, for the people hunting for these: the clearance bookcases have light blue labels on them. Target has put out new models in darker label boxes, which obviously won't be on clearance any time soon.

I checked out a few more stores today. All the shelves have gone quick. Only things left are the computer desks.

Video game clearance is still dry, dry, dry.

I went out of town today to the Mechanicsburg/Harrisburg(PA) area and I hit up the Carlisle Pike Target.

I managed to return my Acer 21.5" monitor I bought about two months ago for a full refund($152), went to the nearby Best Buy and picked up some pennied guides(and tried for 3 copies of CrimeCraft for PC, which is this month's free after coupon game at Best Buy;)).

Then, I went back to Target and convinced the manager to let me rebuy the monitor I just returned about an hour earlier....for $42.39 out the door.

Yes. It was quite a hassle and I could've been completely denied, but considering this monitor was open box when I bought it, I refused to pay any more than $20-40 or so for it. And today I got my magic price to keep it.:D:bouncy:

For those looking for Bayonetta, try your closing Hollywood Video/Gamecrazy stores. My local store has 2 copies of Bayonetta for PS3(disc only with those annoying half coverart/half instruction manual cases). After the 60% discount off of the $49.99 pricetag, they would be $19.99 each.

Lucky! Everytime I find the clearanced monitor it's always OOS and they refuse to sell it to me. I should try your method though. It might work! :D

If your Target has self check scanners with number buttons on them, you can enter in the DPCI on your own, which is how I knew the monitor was only $40 at the out of town store.;)

The DPCI is: 080-00-0167

It should also bring up the last price in the system when entered in one of those handheld scanners the electronics employees use, though there ARE two monitors that're similar now floating around Target stores.

The other monitor's(replacement for the one with HDMI I have)DPCI is 080-00-1049, if I remember correctly. It has no HDMI port, but does have a DVI w/HDCP port on it, which means you can use a $5 adapter from NewEgg to make it into an HDMI port.

Both are on the Target website and both are listed as being sold ONLY in stores.

But if they tell you the item is out of the system, ask for a manager and see if you can sweet talk them into selling you the out of system item at the last price.;) The most they can say is no.:D

One of my local Targets had a ton of CRAP piled up on some shelves in electronics. In addition to all the crap there were probably 50 USB flash drives (8GB) that they were selling for something like $18. I was going to buy one but then they told me I had to buy it IN electronics (they had to use some key to take it off a rack) and I had other stuff to buy. As I got the other things I needed, I realized that I didn't need more flash memory and that I would just wait until it dropped in price more.

We got two of the 5 shelf book shelves a couple of weeks ago for $20 each. Thought it was a good deal then. They never would have lasted another drop here, nothing does.

Hey looking at all these HDTV Antenna clearances... Is that black one any good?

Want to replace mine at home...can't pick up ****!

Let me know.

P.s: You guys know if there is a way to check individual store prices without going there or call them?

Is there a way to check the price via wireless outside the store, after the store is Closed?

That's because they never got free games or a computer for like 40% of what it would cost you to put it together yourself! On the other hand, if everyone was like us we'd never have a chance at these kinds of deals.

I took home 12 PB Twixes for 32 cents each...lol

There was also some stride gum for 50 cents but I already had a lot of gum at home.

Exactly. Without the normal shnooks buying stuff at MSRP most times, our economy would've collapsed a long, long time ago.

My main concern now is Starcraft 2. I really enjoyed the original game so I really want to buy the 2nd one. It's actually the first game in a long time that I want enough to consider paying full price for. Now the key word there is consider because I'm not totally decided. I'm hoping that one of the stores (like maybe Target) will have a $10 gift card with it's purchase the first week. I'm also considering just holding off till it's cheap even though I want to get it when it's out in a couple months. WWIATCG do?

Haven't seen any good deals on games at any of my Targets around me for weeks. But I was able to get two 500GB WD external hard drives for $17.48 each.

Saw a copy of resident evil 5 for ps3 in Montclair for 20.98. beatles rockband game was also 20.98, and one other game i can't remember, but it was a disappointing clearance end cap.

Wow penny guides must occur on the east coast i've yet to see any of my local best buy sell them at that price.

Hmmmmm ... discounts on a game that hot ... I would say that's highly unlikely. I suppose it's possible if say, Walmart and Amazon go head to head, but I can't ever think of a time Target offered a decent discount on a hot new title during the first week. And when I say hot, I mean ... like ... pokemon hot, Halo hot .. you know, those releases every few years where you're probably going to have to pay msrp.

I think your best bet right now is to use GS.com and put their coupons to use to knock some $ off Starcraft ... The problem with games like Starcraft is that you have to find a deal that will apply to Starcraft but isn't only for Starcraft, because most companies know that certain games will sell, regardless of any discount. Starcraft is one of those games.

Oh, I bought 3 clearance items Monday on my way home from work about at 8 pm. Resident Evil 5 for $14.xx was easily the second best video game deal I've found at any of my local targets (the other was Bigs 2 about a few months ago for

Final Fantasy 13. Almost every store gave a gift card with purchase.
... I also picked up some "Smokin' Buds" Skull candy earbuds for $15 from $30 (not really that great of a deal as they aren't much better than the other skull candy buds that I got for retail ~$13), and a screen protector for my ipod touch for $3.xx (retail a rediculous $15, tons of these).
Are Smokin Buds the same as the Ink d ear buds that Skull candy puts out. If so then I'd hang onto the receipt, because the ink d are regularly on sale at FYE stores for $9.99. But now that I look into it these may be different from the ones you bought as I think your Smokin Buds come with a volume control on the wire right? I've seen reviews where they preferred the ink d brand by Skullcandy for comfort and sound.

Just FYI.

They are different pretty much like you said, smokin have a volume control, possibly a built in mic too. I have a pair of ink'd already. The smokin are a bit better, but I don't know how they are worth twice as much retail. I'll keep both pairs though, one for under my motorcycle helmet, the other for normal use.
WWIATCG do?
I would wait until the next glitch/discount error at Gamestop and see if the discounts apply to it. There's very few games that're worth MSRP to me anymore. I think my cheapness has become worse since I joined CAG, especially since I know I usually can find games even cheaper if I just wait.;)

Well I went back today and found that they had replaced the $40 clearanced monitor with the newer one you mentioned. I asked if they had the $40 monitor in the back somewhere and she just flat out said no. Big fail. :(
It is Room Essentials, and they usually abbreviate it to RE and put another word like "decorate" next to it.
Yea, I knew it was 'something' essentials just couldn't recall offhand.

Here are a couple photos, but I do agree that these are going fast. I would pick them up for $14.xx as the stores I hit today already had the new shelves out.

These are the ones on clearance. I saw this one at Goodwill. Have to love when they mark up something like this from Target to $10 over what the original retail price is.

This is what the new boxes look like.

Was it the manager you talked to or just someone in electronics? If it was just some shmoe in electronics, then I would've gone up to customer service and asked for the manager.

Saw some three shelf bookshelves for $5, and despite that, can't think of a place to put or use them. Otherwise, good deal.

Also saw Final Fantasy I PSP for $3.74 and Crisis Core Greatest Hits PSP for $4.98. Ended up passing on both.

I saw four boxes of Wii Speak in the clearance end cap knocked down from near $30 to below $21. But if you really want Wii Speak, look for the Animal Crossing:City Folk bundle or the Endless Ocean: Blue World bundle.

They were $7.48 around here, and lasted even at that price for a good while, so you should be able to get better prices in the coming weeks. I think AC bundles are long gone, but EO bundles are definitely still around.

Just adding small bit of info.
Final Fantasy 13. Almost every store gave a gift card with purchase.
I'm not sure you can compare FF13 to Starcraft 2 ... sure Final Fantasy used to command big fanfare back in the PS1 era and somewhat in the PS2 era but it's definitely in a state of decline as far as franchises go. Not to mention the mixed reviews and reception of 13. I think alot of retailers saw that and started trying to entice people ... but imho I really don't see Starcraft 2 getting massive discounts at launch.

Ah, another Target thread already. I should really browse through the other sections of Target for their other clearance items, their men's section occasionally has some ok stuff too.

how come some games just dissapear from the video games section???

i was looking for motorstorm AE, dragons age, resident evil 5, PS3 EYE CAMERA, and nothing around any of my local targets (3 different targets)

ps3 eye camera - theres something about these cameras (with the PS motion controller coming out), ive been searching walmart, target, kmart, TRU, (BB has it at full price) trying to find it on clearance, kmart HAD it for 1.99 but OOS, but no one has any in stock, what gives????

do stores really just take products off shelves just so no one can buy them????

Picked up a Logitech 720 remote today for $37.48 in Richmond, Va. Haven't used a universal remote before but will be excited if it works as well as everyone says.

I found an "AS IS" $2.56 price sticker on a new Iron Man 2 CONCEPT SERIES, ARMOR TECH, SHOCKWAVE MISSION figure. Originally $9.99. Don't know if there was a problem with this one or not. They blotted out the barcode and sku'd the price tag.988030870004989552 is what it read.

missed out on some great clearance games at target in west co. they had :ps3: 7.98 007 Quantum of Solace, Dirt 2 14.98, Transformers Revenge of the Fallen 7.98, Fall out 3 7.98, Star Wars Unleashed 4.98.. :360: Gears 2 7.98, IL-Sturmovik 7.98, Fall out 3 7.98, and a few others. Totally wished i had stopped by when they had Dirt 2 on clearance. Asked the worker to check for games and was told they won't be getting any more in as they were clearance items.

On clearance rack I saw :ps2: Friends Trivia 2.98, Lego Batman 4.98, Lego Indian Jones 4.98, Motorstorm artic 7.98, Bigs 2 7.98, cabela outdoor adventure 7.98, star trek (price forgot). ps3 component cable 5.98, ps2/xbox composite 5.98, ps2 composite 5.98, ps2 silver controller 6.98.

Actually that's not true. While the game has gotten mixed reviews, it was never expected to do poorly. As a matter of fact, it was extremely successful. It sold faster than any other final fantasy game in history. It sold a million copies in only five days.
