Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in gold are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

I read Target clearance threads on FW, SD, CAG and several other forums. The word is out everywhere. Just a reminder that all price mark downs are basically local; I've been to several Targets in the same metro and found different prices for the exact same game. The one that comes to mind is Prince of Persia - Forgotten Sands which I see at $13 and $10 prices (ie some are on the next set of mark downs which take them from 13->10)

The Haier 7" tv, I saw two entire endcaps full of them today at one store for $32.xx. Does anyone know what the screen resolution is? The Target product website below claims it is 720p, but I find that hard to believe for the size. The Haier website doesn't list it. Can anyone verify?
.
At my targets the tv is priced at 62.xx, If it drops to 32, i would be all over it. I am still unsure what i will use it for but it looks cool!
Have you ever thought it's what the company tells them to do? Target is a company that isn't the smartest, considering how much clearances they normally has vs other stores.

I mean, clearances are GREAT for us consumers, but for them as a company it's not!
The stores are pushed not to have empty shelves which includes the electronics cases. Therefore if a game sells out they gotta fill it with something, sometimes that something has to be a clearance game that was previously on the endcap.

3 weeks and no drops. What gives? The same amount of copies are available so no one else is buying either. Maybe if they dropped the price lower, we would buy...

Swung by my Target today, they had an assload of games on clearance, nothing worth noting really... the 1 copy of Dante's Inferno: Divine Edition from last week was gone... a ton of cd/dvd binders, and several alarm clocks, barely marked down, maybe from $25 down to $17-$20. Meh... :whistle2:x
I mean, clearances are GREAT for us consumers, but for them as a company it's not!
Yes it is. They wouldn't clear out games if it wasn't good for the bottom line. Making space for the new hotness makes business sense.
Target is retarded! About the month ago a local Target marked down inFAMOUS to $20.98 and placed all copies they had on the clearance endcap. Now they are only $14.98 and back in the game case/prison...how much sense does that make? It literally made me scratch my head.
You and me both. Mine did the same thing, of moving clearance back into the plastic prisons. And reading the last few pages, a couple of other people have had it happen too. I thought the point of clearance was to clear shelf space. It's not selling any faster that I've seen, and it's taking up more space they need than before.

The overall business practice is to make the plastic prisons look full, this is why sometimes you'll see 5 copies of the same game in the case. Before the the prisons showed up the practice was to always remove the items from the glass cases and put it on a shelf. The price change team (at least in my store) is a bunch of old women who have been doing this for years. When they see a game hit a new markdown they take it out and put it on an endcap. The electronics team member then sees that it isnt in one of those free roaming security cases so they slap one on. Eventually a team lead sees the empty plastic prison and tells them to fill it with something. If you think that the electronic team member really cares whether the $15 game or the $30 game goes in the case, clearly you havent met most retail employees.
Edit: and yes the points to clear shelf space, but sometimes the item hits clearance before more games come in to fill the space, sometimes we have games up to a month before there release date and such so they cant go straight out. So while they wait to fill the space they chuck some clearance back in there to make it look full, creating the wanted illusion of them having a large variety for you to select from.

good ol orange box
i grabbed it the 3rd or 2nd day it came out since it came out around my birthday.
best. birthday gift. ever.
I posted about that Memorex Blu-Ray player last week. I looked at the Amazon reviews and got a good laugh. Worst reviewed product I've ever seen!!

that would be nice to know... also, the 10" variant is $4x.xx (can't remember if it was 42.xx or 45.xx )

This is indeed a clearance item. The Martinsburg store had 1 left yesterday, and Hagerstown (MD) had a few last I saw but that was Thursday I think.
do ppl still play TF2 on XBL?
I'd like to know this as well. I'd love to hop on if people are still playing.
The stores are pushed not to have empty shelves which includes the electronics cases. Therefore if a game sells out they gotta fill it with something, sometimes that something has to be a clearance game that was previously on the endcap.
That is understandable, but what isn't understandable is why they would put the cheapest clearanced item in the storage unit that is supposed to prevent theft. it's not the fact that they put games back in, its the fact that they put the lowest price game in and leave the more expensive games out, thus making them retarded. I'm not complaining that they did it, I just thought it would be a funny story to tell on the Target clearance thread.

Thanks for the heads-up, I was going to head down to hagerstown this weekend, fingers crossed they still might have one... I STILL haven't played HL2! Is Hagerstown's Target usually a good place for clearance games? The Frederick one here is usually pretty weak.

Anybody know how long the SSFIV deal lasts for? Debating on that one, but if I find the GH5 pack for cheap might have to bite on that one.

Was waiting for Dead Rising to drop but somebody picked it up when it dropped! Also was hoping for Bioshock 2 on PC but they're all sold out.

At least I got my DJ Hero at 29.99...

Those TVs seem tempting too, not sure where I'd put it though, I'd need something a little bigger to replace the monstrous CRT in the bedroom....

The Dover one and the Salisbury one are both great for clearance games... but I guess both of those are a little far. If you ever drive by either one make sure to stop though.

I guess it's decent? Not really any different from the Martinsburg store from what I've noticed anyways. If I don't forget, I'll try checking again after work.

Also, while I doubt I'll go there as it's an hour(ish) away from me, there's a store over in Chambersburg, PA as well (exit 17). I don't know what their clearance is like as I haven't been in that store in months since I moved during the early summer.

Wow. Thorough explanation for all the anal CAG's out there.
Wow. Thorough explanation for all the anal CAG's out there.
Yes, a lot of CAGs like to say something is "really stupid" just because it's inconvenient for them. They never stop to look at the bigger picture.

Target by me had a huge pile of PS3 games this week... saw Prototype, GH5, GH Smash Hits, GH Van Halan, Band Hero, some crappy wrestling game, and some NBA games from '10. Even with such a big pile, I didn't want anything.

I went to my local Target yesterday hoping to find one of those WD Elements 320 GB hard drives. I totally missed out on that deal.

Their clearance section was filled with quite a number of Haier 7-inch TVs, Linksys routers, miscellaneous plastic cover protector things, as well as your staple clearance games. The $10-or-less highlights include: Orange Box and Dead Rising.

Psych Season 3 is on sale for 19.99.
El horado was out in full force today, my friend just texted me from the store we work out and told me that all 67 of the haier 7 inch tv's we had were bought by one guy since they dropped to $30 something today.
Which is hilarious, since EVERY store around me has a fucking boatload of these on the endcap. I wonder how how thinks he's gonna sell them????? I couldn't talk myself into one of them. If it was a portable DVD player, I'd pick up 3 or 4 as backup units for my 2 yr old son... But a NTSC/ATSC tuner in the middle of nowhere does me no good.

If you think you want one of these for OTA broadcasts, check www.antennaweb.org to see if there are stations in your area that you can receive. I think I'd get 1... A CW station 20 miles away... But no others.

I still play team fortress on xbox, still a good enough community. people still cheat at the same places they always did, and the class limits get abused but there is still a solid population and good games outnumber bad ones.

oh and the target in metairie la has a lot of copies of games on clearance but not a lot of titles. mainly games that should already be gone like deadrising and fairytale fights. but it may be worth looking into for you.
Picked up Ghostbusters for 7.48 also saw prototype for 20, didn't scan it though to see if it was lower. Is it worth 7.48? (Prototype)
I'm playing it right now. It's decent. I'd easily pay under $10 for it.

Prototype's fun, if repetitive. There's a section in the middle of the game that I found annoying but overall I enjoyed it. I don't think you'll regret it at $7. Damn shame about Radical. Then again, they WERE owned by Activision, what did they expect Kotick to do to them?

The LE copies of Bioshock 2 finally went on clearance at my target. $34 for the 360 version and $50 for the PS3 version. I really hate how places charge more for the PS3 stuff. I'm going to wait for a further drop.

Stopped by my local Target today (Homewood, IL) and they had an assload of stuff on an endcap as well as in the plastic prisons. What I can remember:

Bioshock 2 (PC) - $7.48
Prototype (PC) - $7.48
Where the Wild Things Are (360) - $4.98
The Orange Box (360) - $4.98 (I already own this and almost bought it out of principal. Seriously people!)

There was a bunch more, but I can't recall off the top of my head. They had a buncha Halo: Reach packs that had dog-tags and some other crap in them.

Saw a few

Alpha Protocol 360 for $13.98

About 3-4 of them, but passed as there are enough good games coming out soon to keep me busy and I heard the game wasn't that good anyway.

I forget what all was there, but the Target in Hagerstown, MD had a pretty good selection, especially for PS3.

360 is fairly lackluster as it's mostly unchanged. Dead Rising, Saboteur, Orange Box (9 copies, 1 of which is non-PH), Where The Wild Things Are, Backyard Baseball (?), and one or two others.

PS3 had SSFIV, Smackdown v Raw 2010, and a good many others, I just don't remember what as I didn't look too closely (don't own a PS3)

Two bigger items though:

Guitar Hero 5 with guitar - 62.xx (360)
Bioshock 2 Special Edition 48.xx (PS3)

I was bummed. Would have been sweet if that was for the 360.

Saw them today at the 32.xx price and passed. This would have been cool, if it was 1990. If only they had a built in battery and some memory (for downloads)

What he said!

Also found what I think is a new clearance item, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
iconwii.gif
@ 19.99(50% drop). Picked it up as there were only two copies and I've really wanted to play it (came out at a time when there were too many other games). It'll be interesting to see how this compares to Alan Wake, seeing as there's no real combat, from what I remember.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
DPCI# 207 26 0497
Good luck finding it as it doesn't seem to be in stock at all stores

Only other find was Red Faction: Guerrilla
iconpcwin.gif
at 4.98, but I think others have mentioned it before. The box had a sticker which mentioned something about a BONUS prequel. Did it include the old RF games?

No, the prequel is the "Demons Of The Badlands" expansion.
Slickdeals and fatwallet have ALWAYS know about these threads. Like ninja dog said, lurkers are just as responsible for sucking up all the cheap games as fatwalleteers.
Yeah, I only started watching this thread after it was mentioned on FatWallet. And in case you didn't know, there's this little web site called giggle or google or something. I hear that if you type in "cheap video games," guess what's real high on the list?

Well, I'd point you to another site that discusses all the clearance deals at Target, but then I'd be letting you in on the secret. Can't do that, because then EVERYONE would know. :D

I am wondering about this tv as well..... yea it's 32 bucks, but is it worth getting for road trips or all we will get is static?

Not sure if you mean, can you use it in a moving car (in the backseat, of course), or if you mean, can you get reception in the middle of nowhere. If it's the former, no, the nature of digital tv reception is that you cannot get reception on this or any ATSC tuner if you are in motion. The antenna has to be stationary, ie, not moving 60mph. If, however, you meant the latter, yeah, that I don't have a good answer for. I'm guessing it gets half-way decent reception in a metro area, but nearly nothing out in the proverbial boonies.

The price is right, but I'm trying to come up with a good example of a time I would ever want to use it. Short of not wanting to miss a minute of a game while in the bathroom, but geez... I don't think that counts as a good reason!!

Yea that's exactly what I meant. Like for example if I am driving can my gf watch tv to pass the time? I guess the answer is no then but it would be good if we are out camping or whatnot.

I live about twenty miles from most stations' transmitters here and reception off air with two different tv tuners with a standard amplified antennae that plugs into your individual tv gets me two channels solidly with some break ups. A digital converter box fares slightly better. It all depends on the antennae and tuner in that tv, but twenty miles is the general limit of effectiveness without a big antennae. Capability will suffer in more mountainous terrain. Also, stations only have one transmitter. Maybe some in the boonies of Oklahoma or the like which covers a massive area might have a second, I don't know.

EDIT: Google your campsite's local stations and there transmitter locations.

Those Haier portable LCD's were too good to pass up, the one Target I visited had the last two Haier 10.3 inch portable LCD TV's, 75% off at $44.98 clearanced from $179.99. You can't go wrong since these are recharageable, two different stands, pack-in antenna, A/V cable, and have a car A/C adapter, remote with batteries included. I figure one will come in handy for a power outage during a "Nor'easter" storm.

I'm curious to see what kind of reception I'll get during a power outage when I plug it into the cable TV outlet. I realize that when the power goes out, the cable TV goes out, but i hope I can pick up at least a couple channels using a cable TV outlet like I did before with our other older TV during a power outage. If not, I'd be interested to see what I could pick up with another stronger antenna. I was impressed this TV even picked up a weather radio broadcast when I hooked it up to actual cable.

I have to admit, I was disapointed with the reception of the three channels I only got in my area, perched on the window, with the regular pack-in antenna extended.

Nevertheless, two good little TV's to have. Interesting sidenote, when I visted another Target TV initially looking for the 7 inch models, I was told some Filipino guy came in and spent nearly $2500 on the forty or fifty they had in stock - cleared them out since he thought they were the best thing ever - claimed he got them as gifts for his family...........yeah right.
