Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in gold are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

ElHoardo1.jpg

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
THAT explains why things are in no freakin' recognizable order in the new system. They'd better work a bit harder to explain it's sorted by genre, as right now both of my local Targets seem to be using the "Throw them in the boxes randomly" or "vaguely alphabetical if you don't get picky" sorting methods.

And yes, it's sad how many people go in and have NO IDEA what they're buying. "Oh, he likes baseball games, and this Wii game has a cute picture of a baseball player on it!"

You wonder how these people buy "real" purchases; like TVs or cell phones or cars... is it whatever box is prettiest there, too?
don't you have signs above the cases? I think you just havent noticed them.

"Family" "Sports" "Gay"

Bigfoot Collision Course 4.98
The Monkey King ( the legend begins) 3.74
M&M's Kart Racing 3.74

My local Target right down the street finally got around to updating their clearance prices on par with all the other stores around me. Went in today and found: Bioshock 2 CE for PC - $55, Band Hero PS3 - $45, Dissidia Final Fantasy - $20 (i have never seen this there before), PS2/Xbox/360 component cables - $5-$7, PS2 controllers - $6-$8, God of War 2 - $5, 8GB memory sticks - $10 (picked up 3 of these), and a few other odds and ends.

Also saw a Vizio 26" LCD for $250 (I think its the one I have in my basement and I like it a lot, have had it for over 2 years now), and a Magnavox? Blu-Ray player for $125ish

Still no EFLC or any other games besides PSP games, and hunting PS2 games.

Clearance has been pretty light for games at my Target. They're mostly clearancing tv's, accessories, and kid's books. They did have like ten copies of RF: Guerrilla for PS3 in the case for 13.98. In a few weeks they should hit five bucks assuming someone doesn't buy them all.

Was/is there a recognizable order in the old setup? I never noticed one, although they may have been in alphabetical but I never noticed.

Thats more like the prices these games should have started with in the first place

No more clearance games at my Target...actually they only have Wii games now for some reason?...I guess
there in the middle of restructuring the department, but that was weird seeing one isle full of wii games on both sides o_O

Our's went to the new boxed layout and has all of the pretty clearance grab me know flags on them and of course all of the the games are long gone. But I did find Quaker oatmeal bars on clearance.

That is how they shop. You dont know how many women came in and said I want this Blackberry cause its pink!
Me: Do you regularly use data or e-mail?
Her: Wha?!?! Why would I need it for email? I have a computer, I just want it cause it's pink!
Me:Yeah this phone may be a bit much for you how about this flip phone over here.
Her: No its not pink and it looks yucky
I wish I could live my life like that, plus I have to put up with the returns when they couldnt figure out the phone. Its never I shoulda shopped around, its always I think this phone is broken.

Anyways back on topic. The only clearance I've seen was Lego star wars II the original trilogy for PC. There was nothing noted as being on clearance. Which is making me think the new design is crap. Although Brutal legends is priced at 14.98 now, I havent seen anything remotely close to being on sale.
I just went to Target to get a Black Wii and saw two copies of the Metroid Prime Trilogy Collector's Edition with the metal box for $49.99. I know they are out of print so someone might want it as there's one copy left at the Target in Galveston, TX. I snagged the other one.
so they dont make these anymore???

I just passed up on of these at a BBV ...it came in generic case though

The Target near me (Crystal Lake, IL) doesn't seem to have a clearance section anymore. They rearranged the store a bit and now there don't seem to be any deals. In fact, I haven't seen anything there in a good while.

I don't think :360: Bioshock 2: CE will enter the clearance cycle soon, but I could be wrong. It's marked as being on Temporary Price Cut for $10 off until mid-June.

Forgot to check the Fable II PH. I'll check tomorrow, hope I can score one for my girlfriend for $7.48

TVs I wouldn't put in that catagory yet - while they may differ slightly in overall quality, they're not very unique in any respect, and therefore are ultimately a generic purchase. Phones may be ridden with lots of custom features that will suit different people, but some people are only interested in a phone that works and is within their budget. Anything extra is, well, extra.

But I digress... We're not talking about cars and shit, we're talking video games. You've seriously never starred at a wall of games trying to find something that appeals to you that you HAVEN'T already played? I must really be a game junkie.
Ever since my Target went to the new shelf system for games, clearance games have been pretty much non-existent. Crap!
I really wish people would stop thinking that the shelving system has ANYTHING to do with clearance...

My Target totally rearranged the media/electronics section recently. I was all sorts of confused when I stopped by there this week. I got completely overwhelmed looking for the clearance end-caps, and had to leave.
Not sure why sorting by genre would be good. Seems to me that alphabetical is all you need. It might help casual shoppers, but I will never understand why anyone in today's day and age would buy something blindly if they dont know what it is. Hence you should know what you are looking for, so alphabetical is all you need.
Hey, most shoppers are casual shoppers.
And most "for sales item" like TVs, phones, and even soups are displayed in Genres or Sizes or Styles...they are rarely displayed alphabetically. Alphabetical displays are helpful to people who know exactly what they want. And most people don't know exactly what they want. Either impulse buys or vague wants like I want a 32" brand name TV, but ends up buying a 40" non-brand name TV. Most shoppers are casual shoppers.

"is it whatever box is prettiest there, too?" YES, that is why the manufacturers pay graphic design companies for the pretty pictures.

Saw :psp: Final Fantasy Dissidia for $20.xx today. Too high for me.

All of the :360: Fable II Platinum Hits were gone, so it seems it was a good idea for me to pick it up at $13.xx when I did.

They had :360: Tetris for $13.xx. Also seemed too high.

Saw a TON of :ps3: Red Faction for $13.xx. Made me sad that I bought it when Target had the Buy 2 Get 1 free on PS3 games last year since I haven't got that far in it yet.

:ps3: Band Hero bundles were starting the clearance cycle at both stores I went to. Still over $100. They had a few, maybe they will last.

Saw the G.I. Joe movie figures again, they dropped to $2.48 each. Picked up both versions of Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow and returned the ones I got at @ $3.52.

I was at a Target for the 1st time in ages and they had the new video game set up but they didn't have any video game clearance section. Even if Target has the new VG section do they still put out he discounted titles the same way?

found guitar hero van halen xbox 360 for 14.9x, i picked it up. also saw bio shock 2 collecters/special edition on clearence for pc, a ton of the usual stuff, question what brand were those 500 Gig external hardrive? saw 2 left on clearance for 50.xx, does it start with a W or something? thanks.

Saw PS3 RE5 for 7.48 at Hanover, NJ Target
Also saw PS2 KH:Chain of Memories for 7.48 at Hanover, NJ Target

Oh, that's the one Target nearby me that I haven't gone to yet since I got home earlier this week AoA. Thanks, may have to stop by tomorrow to see if that RE5 is still there, thanks :)

I found Logitech Harmony 720 today for $37.48 and a PS3 Resident Evil 5 for $7.48. I am not sure if I want to keep either of them but at those prices I had to buy them. Now I have 90 days to decide.

Sorry for not updating the OP, guys. I've been busy with work plus second job of flipping stuff to Gazelle. I want to work on the thread this weekend though, honest.

That's my store, the one in Fairfield. They never have anything. They recently changed to the plastic prison and their clearance section is a mess of everything with no good games. I was there last week, haven't gone this week.

There hasn't been much to update as far as games go.

Anything worth mentioning? I'm a whore for cheap things.

Pleasantly surprised this morning when I went to the busy Target around me... Picked up 2 inductive Psyclone PS3 controller chargers for $12.48 each (75% off).

They include the base and 2 PS3 charging adapters... Seem pretty nice. I just figured I'd grab both and try to find some 360 adapters for cheap somewhere. Anyone have any experience with these?

Yeah my two Targets here in Oldsmar, FL (Clearwater) switched to the "plastic prison" as you call it as well recently, now they NEVER have anything on clearance other than some PC/crappy DS games. It's literally been over a month since I've seen a next gen clearance game other than maybe GH5.

My Target just switched to the "plastic prison" which I like better since you can take the game out and take it to a scanner without having to look for help from someone with a key and a scanner. That said, on Monday all the games were in the back and yesterday when I dropped by they were in their new location BUT only a fraction (50%) of what was in the glass cases before the switch!!!

I thought they finally decided to place all those Wii games they had for $19.99 (SW:TFU) for over 6 months in the clearance section!! I got the shaft. Sadly, there were only PS2 games and those PC games that come packaged w/o a box, that they have been trying to sell for $9.99 forever, still $9.99 (I guess the manager had a stroke of genius........place the lousy games in the clearance section and people will think they are getting a deal and will buy them). The sad part is it might actually work!
Anyways, I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else and if someone knows where these games have gone? It's not just the Star Wars, lots are missing Metroid Trilogy, GH: Metallica, GH: Smash Hits, Lego Batman, Madagascar Kartz, A boy and his Blob, etc. For most they had a couple copies left and now there are none, even the shovelware was cut by half. WHERE ARE THE GAMES!!!!!
My Target just switched to the "plastic prison" which I like better since you can take the game out and take it to a scanner without having to look for help from someone with a key and a scanner.
Um . . . how are you doing that? At least here, the "plastic prisons" are just as locked as the old cases were, unless you've somehow got a scanner within range of the cable holding it on the case.

The stores around Madison WI have all raised the price on Beatles: Rock Band. I saw it there a few weeks ago on clearance and then they got more and they're in the "plastic prison" back at $39.99. Oh, well.

Went to the American Fork, UT store today and they've switched to the new layout. They pulled that off quick; I was there Wednesday night and it was still the old layout.
Anyway, all the endcaps around Electronics are covered in clearance stuff. Found a copy of :360: Fight Night Round 4 for $9.98. Still waiting on the iPhone batteries to drop. They've been at $19.98 for almost two months now. Also considering one of those Blu-ray players if they get another price drop. They're at $120-ish right now. Fortunately, they have a ton of them.

Check amazon reviews first, they suck real bad.
Um . . . how are you doing that? At least here, the "plastic prisons" are just as locked as the old cases were, unless you've somehow got a scanner within range of the cable holding it on the case.
Nothing holding them in the case, which is open, so you grab them and simply pull them out. They do however, have one of those round black sensors on them so you can't steal them. The same sensors they put on the portable HD and any other electronic item worth anything. ;)
