Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in gold are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
I know this was already responded to -- but I noticed after we set up the new layout, a LOT of the new label strips were just riddled with these NCF games with listed clearance prices. Two possibilities are at play here: 1) Target just didn't have enough games to fill up their store's new shelves, so they put these NCF labels as placeholders for when they are filled with new games... or 2) I have seen "discontinued, NCF" games come back from the dead and "reactivate" themselves putting them back at regular price. Hell, a clearance camera we had sold a long time ago recently got returned, and just as we were about to defect it out we noticed it was once again "Active".

My guess is that with the expanded space, we will have less of a reason to clearance games simply because there is much more space for our games.
Sometimes a game goes clearance because no one is buying it and a store will have 20 copies still in stock. Other reasons are that it got pushed off the planogram and thusly shoved into the backroom.

Now, there's plenty of room for those games that would normally get pushed off the planogram and promptly clearanced at certain Targets. This never happened at the one I work at, but I noticed while following this thread in the past that when this happened to a game at my Target, it came up here as newly clearanced.
I would say #2 is the overall reason IMO and I don't work for Target, LOL. I remember reading Tiger Woods 10 (PS360) went to clearance for $14.98

I recently saw it at $29.99 after the new layout, WTF? As far as overall layout and loss of money to the store the new layout makes more sense. I actually prefer it but I fear they will put an end to clearance games in the future, that is with the rare exception.

My target has nothing worth mentioning game wise. I did pick up an iPhone battery pack for 9.99 though which could come in handy if you are an iPhone "gamer". We are finally switching over to the new display this week. :/

When your Target first switches over, dont give up, give them time to move any clearance stuff back out.

Several of the ones I hit, when they first switched, no clearance games, within a week or so of doing that, it slowly trickled back out.

Uggghh...one of my regulars has recently gone to the plastic prison, AND there's a new Good Will store in the area...it's like the Sahara Desert of clearance sections.

In Hagerstown, MD (with the new display), Orange Box for 360 WAS $4.98, but is now back to $20. :(. Good thing I had gotten one of the clearance copies already.

Wow... I can remember 2 years ago, when I shopped a lot on Target, every week was a great hunting. Right now looks like Walmart with old games on clearance that no body wants even when they hit 75% off. The last time was on March when they blowout a lot of games, after that.... nothing.

RIP Target Clearance Forum... haha :D!!!

Target cost themselves a lot of business on my end because of the lack of clearance. I just don't have the motivation to even bother going anymore when there's going to be nothing there every week. I used to end up buying things that weren't clearance before the plastic arkham asylums hit.

Damn shame. Hope they make the money back from someone else...
All the stores near me have finally switched over. Clearance games have all but disappeared.

The new system is horrible for browsing. I don't know about the rest of you, but I can't scan across the titles any more. The format breaks up the games too much. Makes me much less motivated to shop their games department, which I used to enjoy very much.
So true. i hate the new layout kinda reminds me of how toys r us game section was back in mid 90s although that was much better imo

Wasn't Target losing money on clearance items? They're probably making more money with less clearance.

Me too, I already lost any motivation to go shopping because I know I'm not going to find anything. Sometimes I used to drive a little bit more to find better deals, and it was!!!. But right now you have to be lucky. And I don't want to spend on gas and miles for anything.... RIP Target Clearance!!!

No games today, but I finally found the $150 HP Photosmart Plus wireless printer at 75% off. :D

$39.92 out the door. :D

Ahh...I remember my first Target clearance deal about a year or so ago...I found Company of Heroes for PC for $9.98.

A damn good RTS game I must say.

If we're remembering the good old days, I remember when I was a young lass in Florida scoping out the clearance Dreamcast games, and I picked up Marvel vs. Capcom 2 for $19.98.

I think it was a year later I traded it for NBA2K1. Man, I was such a stupid kid. :bomb:

Found a copy of Left 4 Dead GOTY edition for...$13.98. :( I was scooping these up for $7.48 back in the fall, and trading them for around $20 to GS. Why would someone pay twice as much 6 months later?

Picked up a 19" Memorex widscreen LCD for $76, but the killer (in a negative way) thing was an additional $16 electronic waste disposal free. Shouldn't the fee be relative to the price?
Didn't find much game related but I did find 4 pack of Bawls for $4.88 down from $6.99.
damn really ? Was that in Sundays ad ?

Yeah I finally saw the plastic prison setup too, don't like it at all. It's like my eyes don't know where to go, there's no order to the display. It is very offputting if you're going in there looking for a specific game.

Nope, it's relative to the size, at least in CA. http://www.boe.ca.gov/sptaxprog/ewfaqsgen.htm

And it's a bunch of BS. For the amount paid every year by everyone in CA (and/or any other state with this stupid tax) it's still a pain to figure out a close and easy way to safely recycle any of this stuff. Seems like half of the convenient places charge you to take things (at least when I've looked into it), and then the "free" places are open every 4th Thursday from 8:30-9:15am. I'd love to see how much is collected versus how much is legitimately spent on recycling costs.

from what I've experienced, target has stopped carrying Bawls all together, kinda disappointing since that's where I normally picked it up from... might explain why on clearance... anyone else??

I got a 360 rickenbacker beatles rock band guitar this afternoon for $12.54. the box was beat all to hell and I haven't seen one on the shelves for months, so I can only assume they found it underneath a pile of shit in the back somewhere.

Same here, haven't seen any at a Target since last summer, I believe. Which really sucks considering they were they only place around me that I know carried it.

207 00 0283 I had this memorized while I was stalking the local Target waiting for the price to drop on the rickenbacker. You are so lucky pablo9000. It must have been stuck under a pallet.

Can I ask what store location?
Wasn't Target losing money on clearance items? They're probably making more money with less clearance.
As I said, I hope they're making said money off someone else because they certainly aren't making more from me. Making more money off less clearance presupposes the crap they were putting on clearance will sell at regular price now that they have more space.

Not something I'd say is a guarantee in many cases. It also means they have to subtract the cost of creating the redesign, paying for the new redesign, and paying for the labor of installing the new redesign. Once all that is paid for, then they might profit from it.

Around here the pickings are so bad I know I won't be checking very often, so (again) I was hoping rather disingenuously that they find someone else to replace my business. ;)

I picked up a Left 4 Dead GOTY for 9.98 and a Dissidia for 14.98 (hopefully this drops to 7.xx!!) I hope I like Left 4 Dead, Im debating whether to return it, not a big fan of shooter games. Is this game worth 10 bucks?

I'm not a fan of FPS games either, and I had a great time with L4D. It feels more like a classic arcade twin-stick shooter (something over-the-top like Total Carnage or Smash TV, not a modern, abstract game like Geometry Wars) that just happens to be presented in the first person. Totally worth ten bones, even for someone like me who's never played a Halo or Call of Duty game :)

Funny that you mention the beer clearance. I picked up a 6 pack of Bass Ale on clearance for $6 something on Friday. I had never bought beer on clearance before, very entertaining.

slowly the world is coming to end.....

im the type that drinks warm beer, so clearanced before is perfect for me, if u really think about it, it must of been sitting there for months before they finally decided to get rid of it

be careful with the HP printers that target puts on clearance, ive bought 3 printers (from $12-$24) and they arent that good, mayb im just unlucky, but theres a reason they put them on clearance

check out the reviews about the printers you get, good deal tho :applause:

upc's??

Oh, don't get me wrong... it was clearanced, but it was still in the cooler. I have some standards... heh.

There were at least 7 or 8 different ones on clearance though. Negro Modelo, Bass, Corona, even some Bud products as I recall.

Now if only they would have clearance games again...

Bass Ale on clearance, you say? *runs to the car*

LittleBigPlanet GOTY edition had a shelf tag of $14.98. Sticker on game case said $29.99 though. It was in the prison and I did not have it scanned to see if that price is legit or a mismark. But the $14.98 shelf tag was in 2 different LBP spots (end cap and then regular PS3 aisle).

Not sure if this was already posted.

Found red faction for 13.98for the ps3. The first clearence game I've seen for a while. GTA liberty stories is still $40.

$5.24 in Vista CA... :) :) :)
mmmmmmm.......... bought 2!

A :ps2: Motorstorm: Arctic Edge popped up out of the blue so I picked it up for $7.48. It might have been out of system because I saw the cashier look at the tag and enter the price manually.

I also picked up Red Faction for the PS3 for 13.98 (here in Denver metro Colorado), they had Sing Star - Queen for $9.99 (PS3) as well.

Target on Louisiana Ave
