Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in gold are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Oh I see. Does anyone have the 75% off price on it? I'd pick it up for like $20-25. :D

Picked up Genesis Collection 7.49 :ps2:, Street Fighter Alpha 3 7.49 :psp: and Red Faction 13.49 :ps3:

Saw The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon 13.49 :360: and a bunch of GI JOE 13.49 :psp:

I think I may have already missed the Bioshock LEs. If I see them, I will pick them up for CAGs. I already bought the LE PS3 at BB when they had the $20 off text message and used up my reward certs from the -cough-glitch sale-cough-.

I did see Kingdom Hearts RE for 14.98.

Awesome! Gonna try to track it down then. I think I'm always gonna get these rhythm games for the PS2 as opposed to current gen consoles because I'm borderline horrible at GH/RB and what not so why sell out the extra cash?

Today's totally random Target find:

ps1.gif
Final Fantasy Origins $2.54

That's the one with Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy II on one disc. Black label, even.

I haven't seen PS1 games in that Target (or, well, any Target) for ages. I figure they must have found it hiding back behind the old cases when they removed them to install the new ones or something.

It was the only copy there, before anyone asks.

It's madness, I just got back from Wal-Mart and the plastic/glass prisons for games are no more...yet Target boxed all of theirs up.

I wonder if Wal-Mart is listening & reacting to the voices on the internet.
It's a powerful marketing tool to let the customer actually touch the items they're curious in buying...that's a no-brainer.
Target fucked their shit up.

I actually enjoyed being in the video game section of Wal-Mart...I don't with Target anymore.

how does a plastic prison take away from your actually touching the item? I mean, what is the difference between holding the case and holding the case in another case? It's not like you can't read it?
I just want the extras. Primarily the artbook. Someone could keep the game even, sell it to someone else, whatever. Recoup the cost. Course I'd pay for part of it.
I know you don't care for me, but I picked up two of the Bioshock 2 LE's last night from one of my local Target stores for $19.98(+tax) each. Both of the slipcovers that go over the big cardboard boxes are trashed(various rips/bends/etc)but the boxes themselves are still shrinkwrapped in plastic. I'd just have to figure out how the hell to ship the extras w/o them getting trashed en route, since the box it all comes in is HUGE.:whistle2:# Chances are I'd probably lean towards using a flat rate priority box, IF it'd even fit in the biggest one.

Scratch that. I have one of the large flat rate boxes here and the box is about 2" too big to fit in it.

I really think that those getting hyper over the new plastic prison setup have to be some of the El Stasho's who walk clearance stuff over to health & beauty from electronics, which explains why they're pissed bout the new setup.

As the employees in electronics told me one time, they found a full area rug stashed behind the chips in the snack aisle when doing a walkthrough of the store before closing.

According to them it wasn't a small rug either. We're talking somewhere around 5-10 feet long by 5 feet wide.

I've found those clearance HDD's in the external enclosures tucked away underneath other electronics, various video games stashed UNDER the monitors and at least a half dozen other items hidden here and there.

If I find something that's been hidden, I always try to make sure the employees know about it and I hand them the item.

Another case is another barrier to having the game (or the imagination thereof). There's some subconscious marketing-something in there.

I don't need the box the stuff comes in if everything else fits.
I don't need the box the stuff comes in if everything else fits.
Then I might be able to fit the other stuff in either a flat rate envelope or a medium flat rate box.:D Or if you have a suggestion as to how to ship the LP/CD/artbook/posters without them getting seriously borked, let me know.

Not outside of using a box that's just laying around. If it could be put into any flat rate box without much problem I'd think that would work.

I'm pretty sure the medium flat rate would work well. Plus it seems to get to its destination in about 3 days most times.:D
The craziest one I've seen was a copy of GH: Smash Hits for 360 stashed in amongst the baseball cards...
El Hoardo must be getting more lazy, since the baseball cards are right next to the checkout lines in most stores.

Snagged Lego Star Wars the complete series for the PC for my wife for $5, and a 2 pack of 10 foot USB charge cables for the PS3 controllers for $5. Other than that, all of the targets around here switched, and all are basically out of clearanced items.

If you can, look for the charging mat that Target has clearanced recently. I picked it up for $12 or $13 (originally around $50, I think). It came with two charging adapters and the charging mat. Definitely one of my best Target finds in a long time. Much better than using the cables.
I can't believe they want $5 for those cables from Sony at Target. Kmart had them for $2-3 months ago.
It's $2-3 difference maybe lol ;)
My Target only has one copy of each for the Bioshock 2 LE. One for the PS3 and 360, unfortunately, both were ringing up $99.99!
Yeah they are really nice. I got one with my Sony HDMI cable and the cable itself is really thick.

Saw a bunch of copies of Fable 2 (non PH) for $14.99 and Tetris Evolution or something for $9.99.
Also saw

:ps3:Red Faction Guerilla $13.99
:psp:Wall-E $9.99
:pc:Lego Star Wars 2 $4.99

The complete series or Lego Star Wars 2? (I've only seen the latter on clearance.)
Only the PC version is on clearance.
I've actually seen the :ps3: version on clearance quite a long time ago. It was around 2-3 weeks after the game was released so it might be worth scanning if you get a chance.

for all those complaining about no clearance games right now after the change. of corse there is not. during any transition they is a lot of clearance and there is usually a while before more stuff is put on clearance. also the new setup has more space for games plus being the summer there is a drought of new games to take the place of the old ones so it will be a couple of months to get more. btw i work at target and we are putting them in tomarrow night. i have seen them at other stores they are different but they will he save the customer and employees time when the guest wants to see a game and they dont need the employee unless they want to buy it.

looks like ninja gaiden sigma 2 ps3 is not on clearance in hawaii. it rang up $40 after i had the jail opened and the clerk entered the "isbn" number into the cashier. scanning it wouldn't have gotten a different price, right?

$40 is the cheapest I've heard it being (except for at Sears of course).

I went to an out of way Target and found an endcap that had, what must have been, over 100 copies of Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. I actually counted up to 70 and then I stopped since I felt kind of stupid but there was still another shelf to go. I wish I had taken a picture. It wasn't as bad as that Crackdown endcap but it was crazy. BTW, they were priced at $8.74 (75% off).

They also had:

:ps3: Bayonetta - $41.98
:360: Call of Juarez - $13.98
:360: IL-2 Sturmovik - $20.98
Only the PC version is on clearance.
Actually, one of my local BB stores has the PS3 version on their clearance rack up front. It's marked $69.99 and anything on the cart has an additional 25% off of that. But $52.50 before tax still isn't cheap enough for me, since the extras are just a waste for me.
IATCG, I don't need the Bioshock 2 stuff anymore, thanks to Amazon.
Thanks for letting me know, Strell. If no one wants these SOB's(both are still sealed, though one has some breaks in the shrinkwrap seal and the slipcovers are in terrible shape), then they're going back next week.

Either way, I'm not cracking them open to ship out the extras or games unless I know I have a concrete deal for them.
