Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city and state. For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in gold are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell
No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
That's exactly how they're coming up with that number.
Yup the 600 one turns out to hold 66 DVDs, guess this is going back.

They had that, "I want to buy my McD hamburger with a coupon and convince you the coupon meant a double cheeseburger with two slices of cheese instead of the McDouble with the 50% less cheese (aka ONE WHOLE SLICE) because the $.10 is God to me," look in their eyes.

Love it!
Went to target yesterday and couldn't find any ps3 games that were on clearance earlier. I looked up and down the PS3 section (which is about 20-24 feet) and all I saw was Call of Juarez and a PSP game. Then I find a endcap with 1 copy of Prototype, 1 copy of Ninja Gaiden and a few copies of Borderlands. I was stumped because there was like 14 games on clearance a week ago and they are simply not that many customers there. So then I look everywhere and I find this:

Wow that's EPIC FAIL on Target's part.

Did you ever think spatially how many DVDs 600 is then look at the product and think 'gee this couldn't possibly fit that many?'

9446691_rb.jpg

That's not even 600 DVDs, and thats over 5 feet tall and nearly 5 feet wide.

No I was thinking im at work and if I want it I should grab it now before someone else gets it while im on shift. Not to mention it comes in a box and you have to build it yourself. Like I said when I got home and really looked at it I was more than skeptical.

 me want!!! I have these two bookshelf's that are flanking my back sliding door which are like 8 feet high...been thinking of getting rid of them for a long time but what to replace them with is beyond me. Hopefully target will clear out something nice in a few weeks worth 40 or less bucks because I just bought a nice tv stand at 22.54 that was tagged for 180 I think .
Wow that's EPIC FAIL on Target's part.
Any why is this a fail? It is exactly like the normal clearance where all of the games are mixed together just laid out neatly so you can properly see them. They have them in protection so bottomfeeders can't steal them.

Yea, I saw a couple of those 300 DVD shelves and wondered how the hell that was possible in such a small shelf, then I read the fine print "300 dvds when contained in plastic sleeves". They did however have the Wire stands that hold 90 fullsized dvd's for $6.XX so I picked up two of those.

well that's misleading.

whats the dpci number of that?

The simple fact that the PS3 clearance games are mixed in w/ the non clearance 360 games, potentially making it difficult for someone to find them.
Oh boy. Another business expert.

Illusions of being full work very well. If you walk into a store and it's half empty, you don't get the impression that the sales staff is top notch and they move product very fast. You feel that the store doesn't have what you want and you leave.

Also, many employees don't help customers when they're free. They retreat to less traveled areas of the store or cluster to "assist" other workers. A good manager finds tasks for his employees no matter how mundane. If the task is crappier than helping guests, then the employees will go out of their way to help customers.

This really doesn't have anything to do with clearance so I'll leave it at that.
You are missing my point!

Not trying to argue about this for much longer, but I know more than you think. My point is this. They WASTE all their time to CREATE illusions that they are FULL (But they actually aren't) and they put all the stuff in the WRONG place... yes, THAT is exactly what happens when they do that illusion process. No one cares to actually create the right labels when they do something like that, cuz they are too lazy to do that!

It's something that I have seen Over, over and over!!! It never fails to amaze me how careless they are about stuff are in the RIGHT prices!

They just put another product (say $50) in a empty spot with label with the price $10 for example, and call it job done, seriously!!

Wrong place - I don't know if you guys as shoppers/customers like stuff in the wrong place - possibly wrong price, and definitely wrong name. I sure as hell DON'T! How much, is this the right place... confusing!! F*** that!

Plus, wrong place creates more work (MORE unnecessary time WASTED) for their employees when the actual right product comes they have to do a 'domino effect' fixing on all the merchandises they stuff in the wrong places!

What they do is called flexing, to create that illusion the store is fuller than it looks. Most employess are TOO lazy to create temp labels when they flex, they just put stuff whereever, even if the price is wrong!

They don't give a s***! You think they do? They get paid minimum wage, a lot of them ain't gonna spend time to create a temp label when they flex! Most of people stock (who does this flexing... told by their boss or whatever) DON'T even know how to create a label anyhow!

So to me, in this regard, illusion to make it look full does NOT work, period. The corp just doesn't realize how much time is wasted (and how much their employess DON'T care to do it right enough) to encourage this time-wasting process!

Target clearance have been lackluster in my area to the point where I don't make my weekly trips solely for video games anymore.

Stopped by yesterday though and picked up a 7" portable television for $40 including the recycling fee and tax. It's kind of fun to have it's a hoot playing some PS2 on it. :D

Picked up-

Borderlands (PS3) - 20.98 (I knew if I passed on it I'd never see it again)
Bioshock 2 (PC) - 7.48

Saw Borderlands for PC for 4.98, but snagged the PS3 version since I have the DLC already (Had to ship back to Gamefly).

There were a ton of other games, but I didn't take note... Sorry :(

Edit - Savage, MN... Guess the town matters :)

Found

PC:

Bioshock 2 - 7.48
Bioshock 1 - 4.98
Lego Batman - 4.98
Kane & lynch 2 - 24.98

360:

Prototype - 9.98
HAWX - 7.49
Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 - 7.49

and some others
Saw

Borderlands 20.98
SVR 2010 20.98
Ninja Gaiden 20.98
UFC 2009 20.98

all for PS3 are any of these good for 21 bucks?
Borderlands is good for $21 IMO I also saw this at my Target I would have brought It if only It was for the 360 and not PS3 as I been looking to play the new DLC that just came out.
I used to work retail, I know how it works and hate flexing... Colossal waste of time!
I currently work retail and largely in the electronics department of my store and to be honest, flexing isn't that hard. Then again it really depends on what we're "flexing." Games and gaming systems? No problem. In fact, I prefer to take time out to move reduced priced titles outside of the lock case to a clearance wall as it frees up space for the holiday glut of titles coming in. That means less time rearranging software to adhere alphabetically row by row just to make a couple of new releases fit when I have plent of space to do minimal movement and just toss them in.

The stuff I hate is flexing ipod stuff because usually we do it when the accessory is still live/active but we're filling it as a placeholder and usually do so with multiple items meaning that when we get that accessory back in, we give it back its spot, and have to scan back any excess product we pulled to make the wall look full. But, it's a job and I take it somewhat seriously considering how many people are out of work. As menial and time wasting as it is, it's a small price to pay to keep up a consistent paycheck.

Maybe the way things work here is a bit different, but it's not as horrible as you're making out to be... save for the lazy ass workers at times since they do exist.

Yeah... but MANY employess would flex like put a $50 product in $10 place, and don't even do anything about the label... just WRONG price and wrong name when customers look at it.

It's harder when you actually has to create all these labels to whatever product you flex... since many are too lazy to do it, it just becomes a mess - Everything is in the wrong place!!!

If a product is temporary out of stock, it should be ordered ASAP!

If a product is NO longer carried, cover the price, or actually create a label for it... THEN flex whatever they want to flex.

That's how it should be done, but No, people don't care to do either, so it ends up with wrong product in the wrong price all over the store!

So, you all prefer stuff in the WRONG place, with the WRONG price, all to satisfy an Illusion of fullness...

I see.

Really stupid question, but I've seen MGS4 is making the clearance cycle on here. However it's still listed as $20 in my store. The employee made it out to be a huge deal when I said I wanted to scan the game first before I bought it (y'know, just to see it was on clearance). Is there any way I can check to see how much the price really is at my store without "hassling" the employees?

You can usually type the DPCI into the scanners.

No clearance updates today. I had my hours cut so I wasn't able to check. I also won't have updates next week because I have that day off to study for more midterms.

Happy hunting.

Stopped in this morning and picked up the following Wii games for $7.48 each:

Fast Food Panic
Go Play! Circus (works with the Balance Board)
Saint

The first two are Christmas gifts, and if Saint sucks, I still paid less for it than what Gamestop is charging for it used.

I scanned a bunch of other stuff for DS, 360 and Wii and found no other drops. The new electronics cashier is always amazed when stuff rings up for less than it says on the sticker.

Picked up Orange Box for :360: for 4.98. Had one of those 32 dollar 7" Haier LCD TV's in my cart for awhile but I couldn't justify purchasing it.

The only thing I'd have used it for would have been to watch 5 minutes of football every now and then when I'm out side smoking.

Went today and the games were pretty much the same except the Bioshock 2 SE are now $34.98 for 360 and $49.98 for PS3. If they still have them thursday ill pick one up. I did get 2 blu ray racks for $2.98 each though.

Not too much new today. Picked up :360: The Saboteur for ~$10. Not too interested in it but I've read its decent so I'll give it a try.

For $10 it's amazing! Not sure if it would be worth full price, I'd say for maybe $40 it would still be worth it though. I'm about 5 hours in so far (got it for $12 at TRU a few weeks ago) and loving it. Some of the mechanics are a little amateurish but over can't complain...

PS - this game has the most naked breasts I've seen in a game in a long while

No updates at 2 stores I went to. I really want that :ps3: MX Reflex to go under $13.98, but seeing fewer copies each time I go..maybe $14 isn't so bad, but I never play more than 5 mins of those games before I get so frustrated not being able to remotely get close to first place!
Not too much new today. Picked up :360: The Saboteur for ~$10. Not too interested in it but I've read its decent so I'll give it a try.
Nice find. Definitely worth 10. It can be a fun, open-world game.

Just do yourself a favor and play it on normal difficulty. The best part of the game is the sabotage/destruction and the AI sucks the fun out of the game on the higher difficulties (alot like Red Faction Guerilla)

My wife just called to say she scored me a copy of Alpha Protocol :360: for $14.98. w00t!
I would prefer $7.48 but I'm surprised it made it past the 50% off mark around here. I'm guessing it wouldn't last at $15.

Found Borderlands expansion pack for $7.48 and :ps3: Lego Rock Band at $4.98

Otherwise only PC games dropped. (Alpha Protocol, Kane & Lynch 2, Splinter Cell Conviction all at $12.48)

Unrelated, bought the portable turntable at 50% off ($36.xx). Might actually listen to my Bioshock vinyl now.

Finally! Alpha Protocol (both versions) dropped to $14.98 and I snagged a 360 version. I also picked up the Avatar game on the 360 for $7.48 as well. I have been waiting 3 weeks for these things to drop. Didn't see much else that I wanted but I was happy to grab those. The week is starting off A-ok!

If the Borderlands pack drops to that at my Target tomorrow that's definitely a pick up!

If it's like Fallout 3 the content is on a disc and once you upload the content to your 360 you never need the disc again... Trade in value for at GS is coming in at $6 a week ago so hopefully that holds.

Also, hoping the GH5 Guitar bundle finally drops. It's been holding out around $62.xx at my store! The blue button on my current GH 3 Les Paul randomly stops working so looking for a cheap replacement. What's funny is I saw the bundle on clearance for $25 a long time ago...should've picked it up then!
The week is starting off A-ok!
hah exact same things I got, I also picked up The Orange Box for 4.98. I already have it but couldn't pass up another copy for 4.98 lol

I found some very nice National Geographic photo prints on clearance. I got a couple 16x20s for $7.48 each. (The measurement includes the 2.5" mat; the actual print is 11x15.) There was a smaller size for $4.98, too--I believe they were 8x10s. I saw prints of Yosemite, Pebble Beach, the Eiffel Tower, a Chinese reserve, a hummingbird, a leopard, a zebra, a coral reef, etc.

Anyway, that was my roundabout way of saying that I didn't really find any video game deals.

Picked up PS3 version of Rockband : Green Day for $12.48 at the downtown Sacramento location. They had a few copies left locked up in the new prisons.

Endcaps had some Wii shovelware and Where the Wild Things Are and Dead Rising, both for 360, at $13+.

Tempted with Dead Rising but will hope it falls again and lasts.

Lots of games finally hit $4.98 around me-- 360 Where the Wild Things Are, Burnout Paradise, Prince of Persia (the one from a couple years ago, not the one from this year), PS3 Lego Rock Band, and a few others.

Seems like most everything got a drop today, FINALLY. I swear, that 360 Burnout Paradise has been on clearance for like 3 months before I put it out of its misery.
