The Great Muta's wrestling topic

The only two that really show any credence, to me, are the Bible verse and the CD_VOLUME4_1 part.
I saw a "grown man" (loosely) throw a temper tantrum that would give an infant pause at an ROH show. I think it was during the CM Punk/Samoa Joe 1-hour draw (show's called "World Title Classic," FWIW). He was sitting first row, right in front of us...fans were being fans (shouting dumb things to get themselves over with the crowd...for the record, evidently "DONKEY PUNCH HIM!" is a crowd pleaser). This cat in front of me (who wore big black Hot Topic jeans with all the chains n' shit on 'em...like the fruitbat goth shit mixed with 1998 Jnco raver pants, and had a "Misfits" shirt tucked into them - yes, I know I'm petty, but fuck it) stood up at some point and was almost in TEARS...

"WHY DON'T YOU fuckERS JUST GO HOME AND WATCH YOUR WWE!?!?!?!?!?!?"

I don't recall people's reaction to that, outside of a smattering of laughter and a brief pause before returning to...you guessed it "KICK HIM IN THE JUNK, DUDE!"
I got to see the crowd in Philly right before the Death before Dishonor IV show shout, "get the fuck out" to Green Lantern Fan. Apparently someone was sitting in his seat and he went to get security. As he was getting security the crowd chanted "don't get up."

Speaking of Green Lantern Fan, isn't he banned from wearing his Green Lantern stuff at RoH shows.

Eh, I think the Bible one is a stretch as well. What significance does Joshua have? And 2:2 is not 222.

Too much effort to decrypt something put together by WWE creative. I'm not buying it a single bit.

I had to look up GLF. I guess I've seen him before.

Derek Burgan was one of the funniest wrestling writers on the net years back. I haven't kept up with what he's been doing lately.

The only ECW Arena guys I recognize are Faith No More guy, Hat Guy, and Never Wears His Shirt Guy (I don't know what name he goes by, but he never wore a fuckin' shirt). I can only imagine how pitiful they must be to get to the arena early time and time again to get those seats at every fuckin' show, let alone throw a tantrum if "their" seats are occupied.
... The Walls of Jericho..?
That book, yes...but the "222" I don't find a connection with, rendering it kinda moot.

Cryptic "SAVE_US.222" Video From RAW - Chris Jericho?

Last night on RAW, WWE aired a very strange and cryptical video clip. The clip shows blue text scrolling on a black screen - very similar to the green scrolling text from the movie "The Matrix". Text is constantly flashing on the screen and it's hard to make out exactly what to make of the clip.

The video has been posted online and by pausing the clip at certain spots, several "clues" can be made out:

- The phrase "SAVE_US.222" flashes several times and is the focus of the video

- Some of the frames show what looks like computer code containing the names of current and past WWE shows. It appears to be the "video paths" used by WWE's production software.

- Now, let the speculation begin. There is a "3-2-1" countdown that flashes quickly. One of the phrases that shows up a few times is "cd_volume4_1.act". On WWE's CD "WWE The Music: Volume 4", Track 1 is the theme music of .. Chris Jericho. With that in mind, the clip is somewhat similar to Chris Jericho's old entrance video.

- The phrase "7OCT" is repeated over and over on one frame. October 7th is the date of WWE's next PPV, No Mercy.

Several emails have pointed us to a bible verse being the hint on the video last night on RAW. Joshua 2:2 verse 2 It was told the king of Jericho, saying, "Behold, men from the sons of Israel have come here tonight to search out the land."

They could really use him right now. It looks like it might be happening sooner than we think.

Hopefully they don't fuck this one up and make it another midget. Unless they bring the Juniors back.

I think wrestlecrap= great television. It's entertaining in a weird kind of "that's so terrible it's funny " way.

The New Porn Order has signed former WWE wrestler Gangrel to a 12 movie exclusive directing deal. Gangrel, now officially known as The Vampire Warrior, will make his directorial debut with "Miami Rump Shakerz 2" set to be released in November.

...

"Joshua 2:2" is the same as "(the book of) Joshua Chapter 2 verse 2." Joshua 2:2 verse 2 is nonsensical/repetitious. And IIRC, (1) There wasn't a 2nd book of Joshua, and (2) if there were, it'd be presented as "II Joshua 2:2."

Not saying ya'll are wrong about whether that's a sign of Jehrico's return, but I think 222 is being stretched too far to fit into the desired outcome. (and if ya'll are indeed right, I blame whatever trained monkeys at WWE came up with it).

Look what you bastards made me do, you made me dredge up my old Southern Baptist indoctrination memories. I demand an apology for that.

Oh my god, I want to buy that just to see if he lists himself as "The Vampire Warrior" or as "Dave Heath."

This 222 stuff sounds like the WWE version of Lost. Next week they'll have Super Crazy, Daivari and The Highlanders taking turns keying in numbers on a computer so something doesn't go horribly awry.

It figures, though. The first week I stop watching Raw and there are hints that Jericho might come back. I actually hope he doesn't since WWE is in such a sorry state and he doesn't deserve to be associated with this crap.

I also don't want Jericho to come back. Not now, not when he'll probably just be fed to Cena and/or Triple H.

If TNA was to actually, I dunno, have wrestling on their 2 hours, I'd want him there feuding with AJ Styles/Angle/Joe for the world title. Of course that scenario would require AJ to be a main eventer again and god know he doesn't have that level of talent. He and Joe/Amazing Red/Abyss/Daniels only put on some of the best matches I've ever seen in 20+ years of watching wrestling. Bring on Pacman!

As many of you know a matrix type video aired on RAW with a bunch of numbers and words. This video is believed to be the return of Chris Jericho. Here are some interesting facts

- Chris Jericho has changed the headline on his official MySpace page to say this: "I'm coming back!!"

- Jericho is booked Tuesday-Sunday everyday but has nothing booked for mondays. http://chrisjericho.com

- No Mercy will be held at the same arena Jericho made his WWE Debut.

Here are some video details

You can here "I'm back" If you listen closely.

Save_Us.222: I know for a fact I have been seeing signs on RAW that say "Save Us Jericho", maybe WWE picked up on this and ran with it

- CHAMP_HARD: Jericho was a former WWE Hardcore Champion

- SMACK_BROUGHT1: Jericho was on SmackDown and on his debut, he brought the "smack" to The Rock. Also, remember back when Jericho interviewed the #1 Draft Pick from SD!, John Cena. Jericho was also brought over from RAW to SmackDown.

- CD_VOLUME4_1: This might be the most significant clue, as Jericho's theme Break The Walls Down was the first track on the 4th WWE Music CD

- WM00_MATCH and WM_MATCH_TRI: Jericho wrestled Benoit and Angle in the Triple Threat Match at WM

- LIVEWIRE: A song by Jericho's band, Fozzy, also an old show, WWE Livewire

- TALENT_PRE: Obvious, Jericho was a former WWE talent

- BAT_ASS_WEEK: A reference to Jericho on VH1's Best Week Ever? Or a clue at Jericho's obvious humor side

- JVC_FIX: A former WWE sponsor

- PROMO_99: Jericho's WWE debut came in 1999 and he cut that infamous promo on The Rock

- 7_OCT: WWE's No Mercy PPV in October

- RAW_DOUBLE_FIN and RAW_REV: A possible reference to the match against Triple H on RAW which Jericho had won, or so we thought, only to see Triple H void the title change. Also, Jericho and Chyna both won the WWE IC Title on a double pin.

- KOR_Qualify13_60: Jericho qualified for the King of the Ring twice

- r/shara/catman/a_man/cat1: A Lionheart reference, maybe

- share/Insight/library/SGI_bookshelves: Possible reference to Jericho's book

- RAW_REV_MAY2.action: Jericho defeated Benoit for the WWE IC Title on May 2, 2000

- BIG_SHOW: This is the only name that means anything that is in the promo, so WWE could have thrown it in there just to confuse the fans. Also, with the above mentioned CHAMP_HARD, Jericho defeated Big Show for the Hardcore title in 2001.

- RAW_WAR_BUMPER: RAW is WAR was the catchphrase back when Y2J was around, and he often "bumped" the phrase around to say RAW is Jericho

- DISP_CHAMP: A possible reference to Jericho's reign as WWE Undisputed Champion

- giga/flame_5.0.7OCT/action: WWE No Mercy starts at 5:00PM on October 7th

Fact is, Someones coming back at No Mercy.

"Batista battles the Great Khali in a Punjabi Prison Match" says the No Mercy ad.

More like, "Batista battles the Great Khali in a Motherfucking Trainwreck Match."

Big Daddy V should be wearing a bowtie with his outfit. Just 'cuz.

The opening match was very good for a TV match. Problem is, there's nobody involved to care about. You can't treat someone like a jobber and then merely decide to put jobbers in a title feud and people will care. Christ almighty they need new writing staff.

 at you all thinking that there are that many layers of deep meaning in a vague video.

"JVC was a WWE sponsor at one time."   Are you fucking kidding me?

If Jericho comes back, I'll admit I'm wrong...but this is just some more WWE crap that's gonna lead to another dumb debut that will fall flat on its face. I don't believe that it's Jericho.

I'm telling you, it's another midget. Jericho will play a long because he's a funny jerk.

Remember like a year ago where there was the TNA logo on Jericho's site?

Or, it's actually Big Show. That'd be great.

I'll go insane if Jericho comes back. But it'll be a good idea for the WWE so it won't happen. Maybe its just someone new with a Robot gimmick.

Anyone watch ECW? CM Punk did his routine as always, not that it's bad (bring the Anaconda Vice back!). Now, I wonder who will win between ECW Original Tommy Dreamer and the heartless Elijah Burke. I'm rooting for Tommy, I just hate Burke's guts. And Kevin Thorn has to be the lamest excuse for a vampire. He even wears Nike sweatbands. I guess every wrestling nosferatu has to have the proper active wear to perform at his best.
Apparently the Chris Jericho Myspace is fake and he is not on Myspace.
Myspace speaking untruths?! This can't be! (sarcasm)

But I do hope Chris Jericho comes back.
I thought the same thing... damn that would be great, please Jericho deliver us from the Cena the Terrible (kind of like an early Russian Czar, but worse as they had no TV).
Sorry but i don't think y2j has that kind of pull.
Sorry but i don't think y2j has that kind of pull.
Hate to say it, but I have to agree. Sure it'd be great to see Jericho, but ultimately that idiot Vince would just think, "Hmm, this Jericho fellow sure is over right now... I know I'll have him job to Cena! That'd be the big win Cena needs."
Even if you've never seen ROH before and aren't familiar with any of the talent that wrestlers there, the commentators do a great job helping you get familiar with them. I think for the 10$ you spend you'll be very happy with the product you get.

There is a segment that I haven't really talked about that features Austin Aries, who you may remember as Austin Starr in TNA, where he re-signs with ROH and puts on a great promo where he states, "I am back and proud to be part of a company that respects its fans, that respects its wrestlers, and that respects this business." That really defines the mantra for what ROH is about. There's not one moment that'll have you rolling your eyes as if were watching Pacman in TNA or Hornswaggle in WWE.

The Dragon/Nigel match is about as good as anything you will see anywhere on PPV all year round and worth your $10 all by itself.
I'll invite my friends for this weekend then...if I can get them away from Halo 3 ;)
Just found this clip of Cena and Orton during their OVW days:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=zsZyvoCdMsM
It feels weird looking back and seeing them in reverse roles from what they're doing now (not to mention Orton foreshadowing Cena's Marine angle).

Also, their hair looks horrible :D
ahh man, thats kick ass...
but cena still manages to get over!

in other news, I was playing through the story of svr 07 and when trish won the title
cutscene - not gameplay or anything
jr and king were like "trish winning the wwe title is as absurd as one person winning both tag titles" :rofl:i couldn't stop laughing as thats what tna has previously done

The Prototype = Money

 @ Orton's Southern humble man accent.

Looks like he lost that.

Last night's edition of ECW on Sci Fi did just a 1.1 cable rating. That is down from last week's 1.4 and if memory serves, this is the lowest number that the show has done since it was resurrected on Sci Fi.

Kiss that title good-bye CM Punk. Maybe this will shut everyone up about CM Punk having any draw power in WWE whatsoever. The guy does not belong in WWE. I don't mean that as a bad thing, but his fanbase is mostly ROH fans that have soured on WWE for good, and WWE will never cater to those fans... because let's face it those fans aren't putting money in Vince's pocket anymore. Furthermore is Dusty still booking this crap?

Punk isn't to blame for the show doing a low rating - it's done fine ratings with every other show with him as champion, and he definitely belongs in WWE - if he didn't, fans wouldn't be going crazy for him at WWE shows.

mykevermin, the theme pack's taking forever, but here's Homicide's theme from it, which did download successfully.

Zen Davis, I just finished watching the NYC Fifth Year Anniversary special... wow. Joe-Morishima was everything I hoped, and the other matches were all at least great. Damn ROH is awesome - hopefully they get that rumored Versus network deal, which would allow them to expose more people to their product without having to dilute the product at all.

Hey guys.. So I bought a car (04 WRX for anyone wondering) and I'm flying to St. Louis on Saturday to get it and drive it back. I know some of you are from the mid-west (myke?) so maybe ya'll can help me out. What's a cool place to visit on my trip back? I'm not trying to waste TOO much time.. since the ride back is going to be hella long, but I want to see something cool. So if you had to choose one or two things to see in the following cities, what would it be? St. Louis, Indianapolis, Dayton, and Colombus.. That's the path that Google Maps and Mapquest gave me (basically just take i-70). I know this has nothing to do with wrestling but since this is one of the only threads I actually post in, I thought I'd ask here.

GO JERICHO!.. yeah..

1. Street Fight: Colt Cabana, BJ Whitmer, & Daizee Haze vs. Adam Pearce, Jimmy Jacobs, & Lacey
2. Special Exibition Tag Team Title Match: Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. El Generico & Kevin Steen
3. FIP Heavyweight Title Match: Roderick Strong vs. Delirious
4. ROH World Tag Team Title Match: Christopher Daniels & Matt Sydal vs. Jack Evans & Shingo
5. ROH World Title Match: Homicide vs. Takeshi Morishima

Good show with the best match on the card probably being Jay and Mark Briscoe against Kevin Steen and El Generico. Steen and Generico had previously been given shots in ROH but here they really grabbed the bull by the horns and earned their spots on the main roster. The show also features Homicide's fourth title defense against Takeshi Morishima, who had lost the night before to Samoa Joe in an awesome debut match. It's funny how tiny Homcide looks in comparison to Morishima. Finally check out Joe's promo with Jimmy Rave. Hilarious! Too bad this Philly crowd was kind of way too quiet...

Cut out were...

1. Nigel vs. TJ Perkins
2. Austin Aries vs. Claudio Castagnoli
3. Samoa Joe vs. Jimmy Rave

Whenever I upload these shows, I'm always going to try and get each show to around 2 hours, essentially the same length as the PPVs. It allows me to cut out matches that may seem to be filler and overall improve the flow of things. Samoa Joe vs. Rave was cut because the match wasn't anything special.

Also, I don't think people will have patience to sit for 3 hours. The total show length is 1 hours and 58 minutes. Original length is 2 hours and 53 minutes. You need to download all three parts and unrar them to watch this.

No Detroit noted on my way back... It's just St. Louis to Baltimore. Basically, I'll get on i-70 and won't get off for 830 miles. :)

It was a great show and my overall favorite of the year. Respect is Earned and Manhattan Mayhem 2 were good and had some great matches, but overall FYF: NYC was the most solid show I'd been to. I'm uploading Fifth Year Festival: Philly right now. It'll be up in half an hour.

3.
ROH World Title Match: Homicide vs. Jimmy Rave
4. Special Exibition: Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. Nigel McGuinness & Colt Cabana
5. Grudge Match: Samoa Joe vs. Takeshi Morishima

Great show featuring the debut of Takeshi Morishima in ROH. The entire show is based around establishing the bad blood between the arriving Morishima and veteran Samoa Joe while Nigel McGuiness is taking the Pro Wrestling Noah side of things. A lot of atmosphere in the show and I have to suggest that everyone download it and give it a chance.

Keep your eyes on the tag team title match where Austin Aries misses Matt Sydal on a suicide dive and goes crashing into the barrier head first and seconds later reinjures his ankle and almost breaks his neck in the process. It's three sick spots in the span of 30 seconds and I'm shocked that he isn't paralyzed as I write this.

Cut out were...

1. Delirious vs. Adam Pearce
2. Allison Danger & Sara Del Ray vs. Daizee Haze & Alexa Thatcher
3. Jack Evans vs. Shingo vs. Xavier vs. Jimmy Jacobs

New ROH Driven Preview!

September 27th: ROH "Driven" debuts on PPV tomorrow night on iN DEMAND at 10pm. Witness the match of the year candidate everyone is raving about as Bryan Danielson battles Nigel McGuinness plus six other big bouts. You can see a new, free video preview of the bruising Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. El Generico & Kevin Steen bout now at ROHvideos.com and http://www.rohvideos.com/watch?v=yo6_itjV1Os on rohvideos.com. If you are used to watching your PPVs on Sunday, "Driven" will replay on iN DEMAND this Sunday at 8pm. We are really proud of this event and hope you will give ROH a chance at an affordable price. Don't take our word for it, look at what the critics are saying:

"...after seeing the recent WWE and TNA television and PPV offerings, it only took five minutes into the first match (of "Driven") where you felt you were getting a product that blows away the big leagues of U.S. wrestling...those who do see it, unless you are so indoctrinated into a different style that you can't accept new stuff, it'll be awfully hard not to like this show a lot....It has significantly better wrestling than TNA minus the headache inducing booking...." - Dave Meltzer - September 26th edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

This is the first and only interview of this kind that the ROH and FIP booker plans on doing. The subject sees Sapolsky fantasy book the re-launch of ECW from June 2006 through the "Dismember To December" PPV. Who would he build around? What would the angles be? Who are the champions? How would things develop? How is the whole decision making process approached? This is an insight into some of Sapolsky's booking philosophies and thoughts on talent. Be warned that your wife or girlfriend might leave you after seeing Sapolsky's charm and charisma come bursting through the TV screen. For all the ladies out there we are sorry, but Gabe is happily married and taken. Order now at ROHwrestling.com for this rare look into the mind of ROH and FIP's booker.
