The Official Ninja Gaiden Sigma Thread (demo's up for DL)
This is going to sound so lame-- but money can't buy the skills that team ninja has to make a good action game. Imagine how much money they threw at God of War 2 and the gameplay is still pretty one dimensional and weak.

Team Ninja has the experience and talent...and they're japanese
(YEAH I SAID IT  )
Haha, Actually they're british. But money can buy you the tools to at least make it good, again we shall see.

team ninja is japanese.

they can get it up to a certain level quality. once it's there, talent makes or breaks it.
1) Thanks for the video.
2) Better than Heavenly Sword? Come on, like this has any chance of not being the best stylish action game ever. Seriously, I have a feeling this'll shit on even Devil May Cry 4.
HERESY!!

Thats right, for some reason I thought for a second Team Ninja was the one working on Havenly Sword, which is Ninja Theory.

This game's release date will most likely be the day I buy a PS3. It's the only game for the system I'm interested in, and I'm interested enough to buy a PS3 for it.

whoa, so they went up to 1080p with it. This must be recent, since the PSM article said only 720p.
whoa, so they went up to 1080p with it. This must be recent, since the PSM article said only 720p.
Where do you see that? The video says 720p.

The IGN article:

Tecmo said that it has just recently managed to implement full 1080p support into the game, and at a full 60fps to boot. Yes, this is one slick-looking title.

Gamespot has a new article up but it's pretty much the same info as the IGN and 1up articles.
See... "Port" isn't always a bad word.
pretty sure this game was mostly built from the ground up, so it's not really a port. :)
The IGN article:

I have to wonder if it'll stay as part of the game or if they're just talking about being able to handle it in 1080p. Either way, it still looks damn good.

Well if you're one of the few who can see that, then that jab wasn't for you. ;)

holy shit... I read that 1up article and the game's actually going to come out in June... that's not just a tenative date. I cannot wait for this.

Don't hold your breath. I guarantee June 1st will come around and BAM! Pushed to September. then october...then November 2nd, then a "god must be fucking with me" delay to November 11th or some random date with a few weeks of the supposedly solid date.

Team Ninja should release their own controller with rumble function for the PS3 release. Ninja Gaiden without rumble is going to be weird.

IGN is listing this as being a June 26th release, but if that'll change who knows. It's looking pretty damn good already though.

Pure HD is much better than Upscaling...

How much is this game going to cost... I'd like to see some PS2 games re released in pure HD for the ps3.

Sigma looks absolutely stunning.

I didn't realise how bland the original was. This is like its adding lots of different spices to it to make it pop and be THAT much more satisfying.

Cant Wait!!

I remember waiting for the original release on the Xbox. That was torture. Worth it, but torture.

For those of you who haven't played this game yet, enjoy the revamped version (which looks simply stunning, though the original NG looks better on my TV via the 360 than their footage in the comparison video). It's pretty much the pinnacle of every thing an action game should be: fast, pretty, challenging. A lot of fun.

I think this game might have rumble in it... or at least it could be added on as a patch... maybe... Gran Turismo HD (UK) supposedly was released with rumble, so its a strong possibility... I would think
The video comparison for this video is amazing.
Agreed, holy shit I never realized the original was so lame looking, NGS blows it out of the water. You can tell they re-built this game up to utilize the PS3's power. Something more people/companies should do....:whistle2:#

I got a feeling this game is going to sell well... and if it does... I hope that Tecmo will realize that we've been waiting on their products since the ps2, and they need to make more games for PS3... Mainly Ninja Gaiden 2,

Itagaki swore all his loyalty to MS, but he doesn't run the company thankfully.

Here's to hoping a bunch of TN games go to the PS3 as well...that would keep me from having to re-buy a 360.

Yeah I am pretty confident NGS will sell very well for the PS3. When/if it does hopefully TN will make NG2 for PS3 as well as the 360. I don't really care about their other games besides Ninja Gaiden. So they can keep there volleyball on the 360.

As much as they've remade Ninja Gaiden now, I would say it's a safe bet we'll eventually see NG2 on the PS3 (assuming NGS doesn't completely bomb).

The original Ninja Gaiden was not "lame" looking. In fact, I daresay Ninja Gaiden at the highest level of graphical polish of any game last generation.

The oohs and ahhs of NGS are certainly deserved, but not as a knock against the original. Rather it's well-placed praise on this update. And really, the compairsons are taken in some of the most boring parts of the entire game from a visual standpoint, which makes the pop on Sigma all the more impressive. I'd love to see comparisons of the lavay areas in the game, to really compare the flashy parts of the original to what they remade them as.

Indeed. In fact, I'd say say Team Ninja was one of the best in that regards last generation. That includes the DOA games and even Rygar (more the backgrounds and environments than the models for this game though).

All I know is HD playable Rachel = :bouncy:

agreed that this game doesn't make NG and Black irrelevant or bad looking...they are the best looking games last gen in about every area. can't wait to see the last boss...er, last bosses in Sigma

Last gen no NG wasn't bland looking. I agree that it probably wa sone of the best graphical games last gen. NGS too me though really shows me what the power the PS3 has and am very happy that it looks so alive now, compared to then.
Took pics of the most impressive part of the comparison video. (took a picture of Windows Media Player).

Can you spot the differences?

If you cant. Than you are what we call, "Handicap".
Lol just about the entire backround in NGS is more alive then in NG. Just look at the power the PS3 has and is capable of.....

March 28, 2007 - Tecmo's PS3 update to the original Ninja Gaiden isn't due out in America and Japan until June, but those wanting a sneak peak will have to wait less than a month. In the latest issue of Japan's Famitsu Weekly, Ninja Gaiden Sigma director Yosuke Hayashi revealed plans to make a playable demo of the game available on the PlayStation Network starting 4/27. The demo will include one specially created chapter that won't be in the final version and will allow players to use a large number of weapons from the start.

The big question is, of course, will owners of PS3s outside of Japan be able to get quick access to the demo through the US and European PlayStation Stores? While Tecmo hasn't made an official announcement, Hayashi did reveal that the demo will include an online score rank mode that will allow players from throughout the world show off their ninja skills. Sounds like PS3 owners everywhere have something to look forward to late next month.

I'll get quick access to that demo no matter what.
Pretty cool it's an exclusive level type thing.

Awesomeness.

If you know a little bit of japanese you can rough through most of it. You just need a japanese address which you can easily look up on google.

Otherwise I think there's a tutorial that somebody posted a link to somewhere on these boards

I know zero japanese... hopefully it'll come out here on the same day.
