Target clearance is YMMV
Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction. Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 70% or 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price and DCPI # in RED!!!

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Thing is, did you try checking the DPCI# on their scanner? It should be either in the OP or easily able to be Googled. Had you done that and it came up $6.04, then a return/rebuy of the same version should have lowered the price to that. But if you checked the # and it came up $40 or whatever, then it WAS a price mistake and you made a horses' ass out of yourself just to get a deal.

Honestly, I wouldn't go that far for a deal on a so-so game. Now if it were a deal on a console with that big of a price difference, I'd clear out every further off store at MSRP and return/rebuy at the one with it for a stupid cheap price.;)

Besides which, you could've got the game for $5 or so at Sears by now. It's been on clearance there forever.

Both were marked "clearance" down from $14.99. Doesn't sound like a great deal, but figured I'd let everybody know anyway.

I've noticed many targets don't even carry these items. They were never stocked at my local store.

I've seen this at all the Targets in my area and have no idea why anyone would buy this hence why it is on clearance. The vita comes with each item and I don't see why anyone would need another set.

No, it was a price mistake. No doubt. But I don't really care. Price mistakes happen and we as CAGs have to jump on it. I didn't see many people complaining about the Resident Evil/Tiger Woods debacle. Besides, in a few more months, the game will be on clearance close to that amount. PS3 Singularity is already $11.98. Noone will buy it for $39.99, especially since it's already available on eBay for $10 brand new.

Stores have the right to refuse to honor price mistakes, just like they have the right to refuse to honor misprints in their ads. So you definitely got lucky in getting Singularity for that price.
 
Found around 8 copies of :360: Portal 2 [207-22-1012] at a Super Target for $14.98. Haven't seen these anywhere else.

Worked just fine for me. I'm sorry to hear that. :S The cashier had a tough time trying to get the thing to scan correctly, but after probably 5 attempts the clearance sticker tag finally rang up in the register properly. Had zero problems with the code from there.

Went to a Target out of my normal clearance range and found a set of about 5-10 PS Vita Travel Pouches for $13.98; DCPI 207 00 0153. I bought one because I really needed a case for the Vita. I did notice after I got it home that it had been opened (the tape was pre-ripped). The case seems decent but the middle part (holding the cards, etc) seems a bit flimsy and not sewed into place-- is it like that or did someone mess mine up when they opened it?)

I have been finding the Vita USB cables everywhere, but all of the stores I've been at still have the AC Adapter for full price ($14.99). Oh well. I did buy an extra cable since it's proprietary and you never know when you might need a spare.

Of course, the way they're all (not) selling, I probably could've waited for 50% at least. ;)

Also picked up Ratchet and Clank All for One, the Quest for Booty bonus sealed the deal...
 
I said i would never go into a target ever again after last weekend (they were being dicks and wouldn't price match a receipt or gamestop.com ad) but the little lady wanted to check for wham shell... anyways, ended up with dark souls for 12 something after taxes, even though the sticker said 20$

was a bday gift to myself and couldn't be happier, also turned 130 credit at gs into 217.50 at bestbuy (sitting at 400 gs and 180 left over at bestb of 100)uy from an initial

As someone who's been checking Target for clearance for a while now I can confidently say that the clearance drops are NOT the same at every store. So if someone finds a game in a CA store for $9, it may still be $15 at someone's store in PA.

Best bet is just to go there yourself and check your own store.

My Target is still selling Metroid Other M for $49.99.

May check for the Uncharted Bundle... I don't really need a third PS3 controller though.

I grabbed the God of War Bundle for like $48 when it was on sale back in December. Oh well, was still a pretty decent value at that price (considering MSRP of the game and of a controller).
 
Found the PS3 controller bundles at the Target on Westheimer and Lazy Hollow in Houston, TX. $41.98, not 21, but still a hell of a deal. Picked up one of each. They still had a few.

Don't know how many targets you have near you (I have about 20 within 20 miles and 50+ within 50), but you could call around to the various locations if you hav a few and price check the DPCI. Even if it's not in stock but on clearance, you cold always attempt the return/rebuy
 
Do they do these drops over the course of a business day, or before they open? I work 9-5, so I just want to know if I should even bother stopping at Target before 9am.

In my experience (working at Target) the operator station is in the fitting room at most, if not all Targets, so asking the operator to price check a DPCI for you will not set off any alarms. Most operators, if not all, are women or older women who couldnt care less about a $13.98 price on Infamous for Playstation 3.

On the other hand, if they pawn you off to the electronics desk to do the price check, you can just hang up.

If I ever call about a price at Target, which is rare, then I just tell the operator I have a DPCI and I'm wondering if she can price check it in her PDA. 99% of the time they are more than willing to do it right then and there.

This is pretty well correct. Honestly though even electronics is 99% likely to not give a shit or already know.

First thing you get into the habit of doing there is watching clearance for things you want. Employees are the worst clearance hiders...

I saw these both on Clearance last PM (04.07.2012) in Auburn, AL at the 50% Off Price (hadn't hit the 70% Off yet). Also, they had the Uncharted Bundle but it wasn't on Clearance and rang up at regular price ($59.99?)...same with the Tiger Woods CE.

btw, I haven't seen it on here for a while, nor do I have the DPCI, but on Friday, the Pokemon Black and White DSI bundles were dropped to $74.98. Which is awesome if you want one. There were 5 blacks and 1 white when I saw them last on Saturday morning.

Idk about that I currently work at target and the operator is located in tsc(target store client) and have a computer where they can just type in the dpci. If it wasnt for me checking this thread constantly most people in electronics wouldnt even know about the clearance, so I can guarantee you its not 99% knowing about it and if I see a game at a great price I buy it asap as I se the price change team do it as it happens. i get a kick out of the paranoid people in this thread, you should'nt be punsished for working there. evertime theres not a pile of games some hoarding soccer mom or greedy target employee must be responsible!

Found most of the mentioned games but still sitting at 50% off, and will likely be wiped out before they hit 75% which is too bad. I used to get great deals on Target clearance when i could hit 3 different stores on my drive home.

I did find, DQM: Joker 2 for $17.48 and even though it was only 50% i figured the 3 copies would last any longer. And also grabbed Driver for $11.98
