Target clearance is YMMV
Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction. Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 70% or 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price and DCPI # in RED!!!

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

sometimes when they do inventory stuff comes out of the stockroom in mysterious ways. I've seen as-is / repackaged stuff stay at the same price for a year or more, so don't count on it.

glad to know there isn't going to be a price drop. well not glad, lol, but that is good info to have. might pick up a couple games since they were a bit cheap (who knew it was so hard to find a CAG to trade me Rage on 360?). seems like target clearance has not been very good on games since like May.

Posted these next 2 deals in another thread, but figure some here may be interested. Especially since gaming clearance continues to be pretty weak

I've used the guitar cable a bit and works well so far with ishred app and garageband. No static, solid volume levels. Hope to try it with other apps and my computer soon.
Haven't had the piano as long so haven't had the free time to try it yet. But so you know, the keys light up to tell you which ones to play and expect the ios screen to show a virtual keyboard

Anyway might be a good sign that they're gonna clearance out all those ios add-ons. If true there's an Atari joystick adapter that would be good to track as well as a couple remote control vehicles (like rc car and rc helicopter)

Thanks for the info on the guitar adapter - I'm always tempted but assume that they're worthless.

Checked 3 Target's today and none had that price marked and they all scanned as $19.99. Too bad, good find, wish I could have found it too.

I had the same thing happen to me with Red Faction..not the newest one..the first one on the PS3. It was in a normal section, with a normal yellow $5 price tag on it. I got the last copy. A month later they had a full stock again, but with a regular yellow $20 sticker. Target is odd.

My guess is someone put the $5 sticker to sell the last copy(ies), but then me buying the last copy caused their system to automatically restock and they were forced to put them back on shelf for $20.

Are you kidding? That's messed up! hey man, you got money, pay me more! you're buying a product for x, selling it for x, i mean it is selling for what people are willing to pay, but you'd think all of the places as a corporation would have to reflect the same price, although it isn't in an ad, so they probably can do what they want.
 
I picked up one of the numerous NBA Baller Beats packs they had for $29.98 as well for my nephews. It was already out of the system/scanning item not found on the in store inventory/price checkers, but I'm still hopeful it will drop further at this or another store.

Who knows if these will be worth reselling in the future, given some of the gimmick bundles/games end up being worth a fortune years down the line while others remain near worthless.

You guys can take the DPCI #s and search on target.com for an exact match and then use the store locator there. If there isn't an exact match, try googling Target and the DPCI #. For instance, on the 500 gb Seagate hard drive, it doesn't show up on the site. Google shows the online # as 13730271. Then, you can plug the online # in http://m.target.com/fiats/t- and put the online number after the - so the link would be: http://m.target.com/fiats/t-13730271. Hit enter, plug in your zip and it should work.
 
It's been a looooong time since I've found anything worthwhile on clearance so I was pretty psyched to nab Tekken 3D Prime Edition for 3DS for $14.50 at a Target near my office. :)

This happens when a game is clearanced out in the system but due to a new Plannogram, (which are planned before the clearance drops), the Clearance priced games get stuck in the case. (Sometimes with a new planno, the game gets reset to the 'Active' property which means more shipments.)

It takes a little while for the price to get adjusted in the system, so if you spot a tag like that, then you best pick it up before they disappear!

I tried both links and neither work, even after entering the DPCI for something else like the Seagate HDD.

Apparently the old Target mobile page got nuked now, huh? I tried it on Google Chrome and it took me to that page you linked above. That kinda sucks, since that means I have to go in store to check for shit now.:whistle2:# With how super YMMV my local Targets are for deals like these I'll probably not even bother from here on out.
 
Several Baller Beats at my store too. Shipwreck must have bought the only one at Target since it came out. Sounds like an ambitious title, but just too 'out there' unfortunately.
 
I dunno if this has already been talked about, but I got a copy of FEAR 3 a few weeks ago and it didn't have the y-folds. It looked resealed. But the ones at Walmart have the y-folds. There were 3 copies at Target, and they all looked like that. Does anybody know why?
 
Also, I saw Tekken and MGS for 50% off in different Targets. If I wait for it to go to 70%, can I buy a copy from one Target that doesn't have the clearance, and PM it at the one that does?

Well I don't think it's "out there." I just think there is some flaw to their logic. It's a great idea, but you have some problems. You need to be some where with plenty of space and in a space where you can dribble the ball. How many people have a non-carpet living, bedroom, gaming room, etc and want to dribble a basketball on it? Plus if you live in an multifloor apartment, probably not a good idea.

Target policy is to not PM clearance items / prices. So, if your Targets are strict, they will deny you the PM.

But some CAGs have managed to get this done before, so YMMV.

You can also return the full-price item at the Target with the clearance price very late at night, then try to find it again very early the next morning. This actually worked the one time I tried it, but you risk losing the item.

Target doesn't price match clearance items from store to store. You'll have to do a return and rebuy. I've done this a few times by telling the clerk I want to change my method of payment. Mostly I've had success but I've been turned down a few times. YMMV

Also, I think you'll have a problem with this plan because, iirc, Target only further clearances games that are still on the clearance rack. Therefore, it needs to still be on the rank at 50% to hit 70% the following week (or sometimes even more than a single week). So yeah, YMMV.
