Target clearance is YMMV
Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction. Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 70% or 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price and DCPI # in RED!!!

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

In regards to Target clearance - I tend to buy the games I'm interested in if I find them, regardless of current price (even if MSRP at one location as long as it's verified on clearance at another location), then work my magic in getting them price adjusted lower via return/rebuy methods I've perfected.

Given that I have a 3 month return window to get games successfully pricematched to their lowest clearance price and no shortage of Target stores within a very close distance of me, return/rebuy opportunities and probabilities for maximum clearance savings are plentiful.
 
Snagged the last copy of Uncharted 3 LE at the Mechanicsburg, PA store. I also got L.A. Noir and Red Dead Redmption for PS3 for $11.98 each. They still had a few copies of LA Noir and RDR left, along with DQ VI.

Price adjustments are very YMMV. They're supposed to take all returns and put em back on the floor.

I've always operated under the method of "buy it if you want it at that price."
 
My closest store was wiped out of everything good they had last week. Wonder if it has anything to do with the post about Target clearance over on slickdeals....

It must have helped that only Patapon was labeled correctly.

Found the last copy of L.A. Noire PS3 for $11.98 today at Target in Wheeling, IL. In fact, it was the only non Wii or DS game they had left on clearance at all.
 
Has anyone found anything below the 70-75% threshold lately? A lot of stuff I am on the fence about is at 70% right now, and I'm not sure if I should hold out for the possibility of one more drop.
 
After watching this thread for awhile, I decided to finally go to a Target, something I haven't done in years. I forgot how big Target was and was lost for a bit. I began to think this Target didn't have a clearance section, but I finally spotted it. And there it was, 10 brand new copies of DJ Hero 2. I obviously bought them all. Wait.......no I didn't. I left severely disappointed.

They restock on Monday's right? I guess I'll try again but on a Monday this time.

The music CD is with the game. All copies of Zelda SS have the music CD. The only thing different about the CE is the controller.
 
got an uncharted 3 collectors edition $49.98 here in vegas boca park target. as of 5pm they have one on the shelf and 1 in case left, Also managed to pick up okamiden for $8.98. i would call. In the meantime, i guess my black friday purchase of uncharted 3 is going back to best buy.

Just have to wait till friday to get one for $13.50. This is the one wrestling game that Ive been dying to get for a long time.

my target had 5 uncharted collectors edition for 49.98, picked up 2 for xmas presents, even had an 8 of 80 coupon I was able to use to make it even better.

Don't do it! Get it now if you want it, especially on any hot games or CEs/LEs. And use your Target redcard to save that additional 5% off the clearance price. You are very lucky to actually have stuff hitting 70% off still in stock...here in LA, stuff of any note is usually gone at the first sign of a red clearance tag, be it 10, 15, or 30% off. 50% off is rare, and 70-75% or more is extremely rare. Way too much competition, that's why it's necessary for me to do clearance return/rebuys for price adjustments, Target policy against such be damned.

First time this thread actually applied to my target. I walked in today to check out the new BD releases and I always do check the clearance rack in games. I immediately see three Uncharted 3 CEs and snag one. Totally shocked to see them there!

Also grabbed Okamiden at $9 and Patapon 2 at $5. I'm iffy on Patapon 2 though, any suggestions on if I should keep it?

Welcome, there are some awesome deals from time to time. But mostly disappointment from your stores don't carry or sold out or never drop in price.

That said, one store I try had clearance games at 5 separate locations at once, it's best to check all around not just one location. Oh, and they move clearance sections from time to time, to unknown locations.

-Thin racks near electronics register
-360 End cap, PS3 end cap, Wii/DS end cap
-2 to 4 isles away end cap in auto parts section
-Inside case with PSP or DS
-Inside case with normal games, but with a red clearance sticker, must ask employee to key open it, just check the DCPI number at scanner first
-Underneath game case with bigger bundle games
-In the back, I checked a DCPI number on scanner, said in stock so I had employee go to back to find it
-Under a register duct taped
 
Checked three Targets between my home and work and They're all cleared out of games. Just last week they were full of PS3/360/Wii games, now only one Target has a bunch of shitty Wii games. The rest are Tape players and other random crap.
Luckily I stashed a RDR from a store that had about 20!
Picked it up for $11.98 today.

Good luck on Allstars. Unless you saw a bunch of em, it'll probably be gone by Friday-- cheap games are the ultimate stocking stuffer.

As for Cybertron, I picked it up at Blockbuster for their 3 for $20 sale, along with Mafia 2 and Dead Space 2. Played it for twenty minutes and just couldn't get into it. I can't imagine that the scenery changes much from level to level. Traded it.

Mafia 2 and Dead Space 2 are friggin phenomenal.
 
Yeah, I'm already regretting not picking up WWE All Stars today at $14.98. Played it a little at the Microsoft store a few days ago and it is fun as hell. Reminds me of the old WCW/NWO games on N64, which were just an absolute epic blast. That sound it would make when you busted open your opponent's head...THONK! LOL, good times, good times...

Picked up the Uncharted 3 LE ($50), the Elmo Wii game for my girls ($6), DJ Hero 2 ($15) Turntable set, Marvel Superhero Squad ($6), Dragon Age II ($12) and Fallout New Vegas ($6). Passed on Eden and UFC Trainer. Also, picked up a few hoodies for $7.

The Uncharted 3 LE was a typo on my part. It has been corrected to reflect the correct price which is $50.

MW3 Hardened $30 and Uncharted 3 LE $15 are the sorts of BS that I find really hard to believe. I still see full priced copies of Halo Reach LE all around here. I didn't even see a single Hardened MW3 on the shelf after launch anywhere in the DFW area. Do you guys live in the middle of nowhere?

Well I posted a pic of the receipt, because I knew there would be doubters.

I originally paid $69.99 on clearance for my MW3 HE, and it was the last one at Target anywhere in L.A. - I was checking the inventory tracker daily, and all of a sudden it showed up as "Limited Availability" at the Culver City (non-mall) store. Had the electronics guy check and sure enough there was one in the stockroom. That was 2 weeks ago, and after that, I got it price adjusted via return/rebuy to $29.98 + a $10 GiftCard with the original coupon that expired on the 3rd (had to return/rebuy a couple of other clearance games with it), then yesterday I got that bonus $5 off $25 purchase coupon applied to it via another return/rebuy. So I actually got it for $24.98, plus a $10 GC. Takes hustling, but it does happen.

As for Halo Reach LE, are you scanning them when you find them? I've seen it as low as $20.98 or $23.98 recently at Target...of course that's not as good as the $15 they were IIRC on Black Friday at Best Buy.

Holy crap that's a lot of effort. I didn't mean to imply that you guys were liars just that I never see deals like that. I mean, DQVI is still $26 on clearance at the stores near me. Maybe I'm not a true CAG but that's just way more effort than I'm willing to put in. Good job though.

And yeah, I scan the stuff I find and it's always as marked.

I did see Fear III for $15 at Target today though.
 
Not really much effort, because I didn't go out of my way - I was at these Targets anyway hunting other stuff or whatnot. I generally keep Target clearance games that will most likely drop further in my car, so that if I find it cheaper at a store I'm stopping in at, I will simply pull the old "I'd like to change my payment method on this" return/rebuy price reduction/adjustment method.

There's really no other chance of getting some/all of the quality games at substantial discounts here otherwise. Given that you're also in a major metropolitan area, you would most likely have to adopt a similar method in order to maximize the clearance discounts (i.e. buy them at 15 or 30% discount, then wait for further price drops and get them adjusted if possible).

Also, I assume you use the online DPCI inventory checker to see if any of the games you are interested in are available at any stores near you? Who knows, there might just be a MW3 HE, Zelda LE, UC3 CE or two sitting in a stockroom at one or more of the Dallas area Targets right now...

But damn i wanted the ufc trainer for ps3... Guy went and got it from the back for me but it rang up $44. Not sure why...hopefully i can find one on clearence soon

Hmmmmm... sounds like you're just a slightly different form of El Hoardo to me. Hiding games for later isn't really that much different than your return/rebuy scheme. Frankly I don't much care for people who abuse the return policies of stores the way you do.
