Target clearance is YMMV
Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction. Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 70% or 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price and DCPI # in RED!!!

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

This happened to me last time and so I went up to the manager and he went to check the back personally. Took a while (maybe more than 15-20 minutes) but sure enough he found them magically found them even when the computer said there was zero in stock. Just ask the manager and if they're nice enough, they'll help you check.

Finally found my UC3, the store had two left. Got one for me and one for a friend for Christmas, and got the two 10 dollar gift cards. Couldn't be happier!

I'm seriously thinking about getting one of those cassette players with the USB hook-up. I'm old enough to have a shitload of cassettes I still want to listen to.
 
If no one mentioned it yet (not browseign 60 pages) GTA4 complete is 20 bucks in store only. Both locations in my area were sold out, but I managed to get it matched at Walmart.

I'm also thinking of getting one. I have some cassettes with audio of family members from the early 90's I want to convert to mp3. They are still sitting at $14 here, still want them to drop further.

I was at a few different stores today. I saw a ton of the digital frames. Each store had 10+. I might pick up a few if they fall below $10. I also saw a few WD External 2 TB drives for $85. I went specifically to try and find Prince of Persia Trilogy, but I could not find it. However, I snagged a few more copies of L.A. Noire and an UC3 LE.

I think I saw another CAG or SDer today. He had a piece of paper with barcodes on it. Scanning the codes at the scanning machine. I watched him as he went up and down the isle where the games in the plastic prison are. He was carefully checking each game and scanning a few with his phone. I guess he didn't know the clearance games were not kept with the other games.

I got L.A Noire for 360 yesterday (Friday) and they were like 4 left. When I went back today (Saturday), they were all gone. I already beat the game on PS3 but I bought it again to just get achievement points.
 
So far I went to two Targets near me and scored two Dragon Age 2's and Just Cause 2 for 8.98. 3 Lego RockBands for $4.98, Had to price match the Lego games because they had them for $7.98 the first time i bought one, and Child of Eden for 11.98. Took the list with me last time, but most of the stuff wasn't on clearance at my target.
Kane and Lynch actually went up from $9.99 to $19.99. Shawn White for the Wii and NBA2K11 for the 360 are like roaches at my Targets. Dozens of copies of each littering the entire area.

That store was a gold mine a few years back. Now it's pretty bare most of the time. I don't make regular trips there anymore, only once every few months. Been having some good luck in the city lately though.

Guy told me that they didn't have it after barely hearing it, refused to look it up by the dcpi number, and then when I asked him to check, he came back like 30 seconds later saying his boss told him that it was an online only item, and that they wouldn't have it... I think I found the employee who is hiding them... (this is the target that has 6 in stock that posted about a couple pages back)

Can you get someone else to look? I actually did that once and got pretty good results, aside from the fact it turned out they were actually sold out.

This isn't in the OP yet? If you are calling don't get transferred to electronics, just give the first person the DCPI number and they'll see just the price/stock, not the name of the item. If you ask the person in electronics and they see it in stock, for a good price, the second you hang up they take it, or lie and say they don't have it.

After confirmation of price/stock, and you don't see it on the floor, I'm still not sure how you can get the item, because I too have experienced hording employees. It's still a gamble trying to get someone to "go to the back".

False. If I'm at a store and find some lady in the grocery section, or wherever, and ask her to check the stock...she's like, oh, you're looking for '____(name of game/item)'. The DPCI "WILL" give them the name. They can search other stores, too.

I usually don't call, but I don't think it hurts, either. Especially before wasting time driving across town to that out of the way Target. I'm sure anyone that works in electronics is already well aware of what their clearance inventory looks like, and if they are going to hide games, they have probably already done so long before you called. So if you are going to call, I think speaking with someone in electronics may be the safer bet, because they probably already know all the good deals (after all - they are probably the ones who marked them as clearance in the first place). Asking someone that is NOT in electronics is more likely to alert someone who is not aware of the deal, and thus result in them grabbing the game instead of you. Or, not sure if Target is able to check other stores inventory, but another thought is to call a DIFFERENT Target and then have them check the inventory of other stores for you. They can't hide the item if it's at a different store. Just my two cents for those that do prefer to call first.
 
I picked up LA Noire for 360 for $11.98 at a local Target this past Thursday. They had a bunch of copies. Today at a different Target I got Dragon Quest 6 for $10 and change. I was glad to pick up Dragon Quest, my work schedule changes in January forcing me to work nights, so I plan on putting a lot of hours into my 3DS to pass the time.

Too many unknowns to mention. Also... girls game, too(or have kids or brothers, cousins, etc who tell them what to look for and at what prices)! So don't think because a woman is in electronics it means you're safe(no matter how small the odds may be)! I look like a Barbie doll(that's what people say) and some guys give me the wierdest look and say things like...'i didn't know girls play games!' I already know that the employees at one of my Targets watch the clearance games. On one occasion the lady ringing me up at the electronics desk mentioned to another worker that there was a game in one of the drawers. Another time at the same store I overheard someone get on their radio mention that there were guitar hero bundles on the shelf.

I don't call, I just go and look for myself even though it's a bit of a travel to this particular store.

Being a Target electronics employee, at my store, 99% of the time, Guest services or the operator calls us to check for the stock and they don't do it themselves and we know it's for a guest, so that doesn't make a difference.
 
I have to ask... Is it possible for a target store to NOT clearance price a game that is doscontinued? A store near me has six copies of Sports Champion PS3. They were 'in the back' and came up $30 on the scanner. The rep refused to get and actually price check it for me.

Something similar to this happened to me too. I got gears of war 3 LE for $80 at a different target and I was gonna try to price adjust it at a local target store that had it for $30. the target store that had it for $30 was still $30 last week, but it spiked back to the regular $80 price again. weird.... :(
