Target clearance is YMMV
Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction. Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 70% or 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price and DCPI # in RED!!!

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Snagged a PS Vita Travel Pouch for $5.98 .. even though I'm eyeing the Rocketfish Vault at Best Buy, thought I'd take a dive on this for $5.50 (RedCard+discount price)

Checked this morning at my local Target and it was bare (all titles from previous weeks were gone)

Only thing there was 2 copies of Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon for PS3 at $11.98

Why even bother the employee unless there is no tag beneath the game (or if they don't have the in store scanners with the number buttons)? Simply memorize the 9 digit DPCI for the game(s) in question, or write them down/type them into your phone, then hit the the price scanner and punch in the DPCIs.

My local Target still has the Goldeneye bundle at $149.99, which is making me feel very enraged. They also only have one of them, and I just know it's going to disappear the moment it hits the $79.99, if that ever actually happens.

These clearanced before the xbox version in Norcal. My local store had 20+ copies, but they got hoarded at the $20.98 price. Later, when I was trying to get a HDTV deal, I found one in the 10th Target I looked. Never got the TV though.

As far as I could tell they never made it down to 11.xx or whatever they got to... Either that or somebody scooped them up AS SOON as them went down.

I'm about 95% sure the employees are running a bit of a scam operation there as well. Either that or there's a hoarder who either has a ton of time on his/her hands (to keep checking back for the second they drop) or knows some of the employees to get the inside scoop.

My Target had nothing. Checked the Kindles and they are not on clearance yet. I asked this guy who is always working (I call him dorky white guy) and he gave me some smart ass remark about how they are selling and they would not be on clearance. I almost asked him if he lived under a rock because it was all over the news about Target not carrying Amazon's eReaders anymore. I hate that guy.
 
Kindles are actually a featured items in yesterday's Sunday Sales Circular. I would suspect they will have none to clearance when they finally get around to marking them down.
 
Was able to return/rebuy my UC DS3 bundle. I am happy with 29.xx!

The SONY e readers? are on clearance.

The kindles are on sale and they include a GC for the touch and one of the other models.

The $50 and $25 kindle GCs are not in the clearance cycle yet.
 
I've got one Target that no longer does clearances and another that has these crappy Cheer games for the PS3. That one also had a PSP2 case for $5.98, but it looked kinda cheap and I don't have a PSP2. All the headphones were gone for it, obviously. Those headphones looked nice. Well, there are other Targets. I've got another 4 close by.
 
I finally got back to my local Target today, about a week or so after returning those controller/game bundles. They were $42 there when I returned them and they just finally marked em down to $30 there today. They only had five of the six I returned left. I ended up grabbing one for $30 for myself. I figure $10 per game and for a controller ain't too bad, plus I know they'll NEVER frickin' drop to $15 or so before they sell out around here.:roll:
 
Can't you get one of the Kindle's at Walmart with a $30 gift card, I think that would be a better deal than waiting for a clearance that may never happen, especially if you want the one featured in the ad.

IATCG, you are lucky to get that bundle, I don't think any target in my area had any in stock originally since I checked the DPCI on the store locator unless they are sitting on the shelf for full price.

I'm surprised they survived till 4-5pm when I was at the Target by me and even more shocked that five out of the six I returned were still there. Then again, they're on a really low shelf on what used to be the main clearance shelf in electronics here.

Yeah, as far as I can tell only one store in my area made it below 41.xx for the bundles. I got 4 of them and left two to drop, but someone bought them at 29.xx. I was able to return re-buy one, but the rest I used the $20 coupon on, so I don't feel too bad about keeping them.

I'll actually crack one open for myself and give one to my brother for his b-day. The other 2 well, they should pay for the 2 we're keeping. ;)

I tried using those $20 coupons on the bundles and by the time I got around to doing the trade 2 dealie it didn't work already for the bundles. Then again, I think it needed to be overrode, right? They were unwilling to do that at my local Target for the coupons.:whistle2:#

Otherwise I woulda likely kept more than one of the bundles.;)

Yeah, I went to the service desk and they did a 'missed coupon'. The funny thing is they don't even do a return/rebuy, they just hand you $20 cash. I didn't post it on here because I knew people would just buy, get the cash, and return it at full price.

You can check the DPCI in the inventory checker. If it didn't make it to the lowest mark-down, you should see it there. I had some satisfaction knowing that I didn't get beat to the 30% price, until I realized that if they're buying it when there's almost no money to be made, I'm not going to get many good deals.

I've hit 3 stores, most of them have little or no games clearance. I think there is one DS game on clearance and possibly a wii game. No others have entered the clearance cycle yet.

Found a copy behind the glass at the Houston North Central Target (Cypresswood & 45). It was tagged $9.98 but it may be cheaper.

Last month my target dropped it to the 29.90 price which is the absolute weirdest price I have ever seen for a non clearance game there.

I can't remember the exact date on the sign but it's on Temporary Price Cut, which usually last more than a week. I think it had started at the end of April and it may go till May 26ish (pretty sure it ended in May and it would be at the end of the week). I've been debating grabbing it because my fiance is a huge Jurassic Park fan. Anyone have any input on the game?

I almost bought it at GameStop a whole back when it hit $19.99 for a few days, the guy working there told me not to get it though cause the game pretty much just consists of one long cinematic and the player pressing buttons to avoid danger etc... I decided not to get it and wait for it to hit the $10-$13 bucks price range.

You can always buy it pre-owned at GS and return it after 7 days, that'll give your fiancée an opportunity to try it out and see if she likes it. Chances are you may not even need to buy it anymore, as I was also told the gameplay is very short.

I was just out that way last night, but I hit the one on 1960 near 249. Found absolutely nothing. The only video game was Titanic Mystery for Wii. If you make it by the Cypresswood location anytime soon, pick up Skate 3 and I'll be glad to meet you somewhere and take it off your hands.
 
Picked up two copies of :360: Split Second for $1.88 at Alpharetta, GA store, last ones there. Bought Blur when both games came out, guess I'll give this a go, especially for that price!

Except that Blockbuster rarely gives refunds on games, at least pre-owned titles, so that theory isn't exactly sound.:razz: If anything, the reason Blockbuster is failing is because they didn't adapt to changing times. Blockbuster is going out of business because of horrible management. I really don't want them to go belly up because I have a relative who works there, but last time I bought a video game from them it was a horrible experience. Disc was laser burned and wouldn't play, went in for an exchange and the manager refused. She said she had other copies but they were scratched worse than the copy I had. I tried to explain to her that scratches and laser burn were different and I would take a scratched copy so long as it was playable or even repairable, but she still refused and then just offered me an exchange for her choice of really awful games.

I asked her for her district manager's info and she started yelling at me and threatened to call the police if I didn't leave immediately. So yeah, not a good way to treat a guy who bought 6 used games from you the day before.
