Target clearance is YMMV
Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction. Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 70% or 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price and DCPI # in RED!!!

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Wii Sports Resort bundle for $25 and a 3DS Mario Land bundle for $140 both seem like decent deals.

I'd jump on the 3DS bundle, but I kind of want a 3DS XL more, and not really interested in Super Mario 3D Land at the moment.

That Target is frickin' stupid for leaving those out where anyone can grab them. Spider wrap doesn't do much to deter theft over here (where thieves simply decide to waltz out with their ill-gained goods in hand), and I doubt it's much different elsewhere.
 
Also saw a couple of 3ds mario bundles at 139.98.

a BUNCH of ds lites at 69.98

and some dsiXLs at 90.98.

They are all too expensive for me. I could go for a ds lite or a dsixl but only at 50% off or below. I doubt theyll last that long...
 
Anyone see Golden Sun for DS on clearance? I know it dropped a while ago, but when I went to my local Target the copies were still behind glass. And I don't want to pay tax plus shipping on Target.com.

Target Ahwatukee AZ had a bunch of $140 Mario twins 3ds bundles and few halo reach le at $40. I still rock a dsixl but does this make the bundle a better buy than the 3dsxl??

Depends on your situation. Do you have a 3DS already? Do you have any intentions of buying a 3DS XL? Do you want to take the chance of waiting for a lower price?

My situation is I want a 3DS, but a 3DS XL would be a better upgrade for me. I only have a DS lite and just want a 3DS to play Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward.

I do have a lot of DS games in my backlog that I'm hoping will look just as good as my DS lite if played on a 3DS XL.

I plan on keeping my DS lite just for those DS games that require the GBA slot like Metroid Prime Pinball.
 
You know even if you buy the 3DS at $139 and then trade it right into GS for $100 you're still making out since you then get PilotWings for free if you can't unload the 3DS by selling it. Sure it's not much of a "profit" but Pilotwings is still going for $30 at
WalMart so if you don't mind a karma loss you could just exchange it for something else there
. I'm sure you could make a little profit selling it though, especially if you're keeping Mario Land since you've then essentially gotten the 3DS for $100...sure you could sell it for more than that.

Hmm...too much work for very little profit. If you're not buying it to play it, it doesn't make financial sense to buy at $140.

I found the Uncharted 3 CE for 29.98, and ModNation Racers PSP for 5.98 @ Newport, KY today. Bought one of each. They had several left. I also saw several more at the Western Hills store yesterday. I don't know if they were marked down to the new price point, though.

Oh no, I agree haha... That only makes sense if you're buying it to play, ideally an XL. Doing that if you're just trying to make a profit wasn't what I meant...was just saying that in reply to people asking if the 3DS at $140 is worth it. Point was that as long as you're buying it to play you could even upgrade to the XL and not lose money and even get a free game out of it (and despite the hate that seems to follow it, I thought PilotWings was pretty fun).

There was three at my store when they went on clearance and NONE made it to $139. In Dover, which is about an hour away, I think they had about three left too and from what I could tell it seemed like they skipped the $169 and went straight to $139. I picked up the last one on Friday.
 
While there is some discussion on 3DSs, I'm a little tempted to get a 3DS XL down the road, does anyone know if you could save your ambassador games/profile to an SD card and insert it into the XL and everything will transfer properly?

There's a "transfer" tool on the 3DS. They connect to each other and the Internet, and it moves all your games/profile to the new 3DS and deletes them from the old one. It deauthorizes the games from the old 3DS and authorizes them all on the new one.

After that, you can just move the SD card.

If it started at 15% it will not go to 70%. 50% is the biggest markdown before salvage. If it started at 30% it will go to 70% off. I've noticed that more and more the electronics are starting at 15%.
 
looks like the previously "accidentally" clearanced re:eek:rc special editions will be making a comeback, so keep your eyes peeled if your store pulled theirs. also saw asura's wrath in the to-be-clearanced pile at one store.

I really just want to play mario 3d land, mk7, and RE:r. I bought the bundle at $150 after tax; but haven't opened it yet -- been scratching my head all weekend whether or not it's worth it just to step up to the XL.

I would love to pick up both of those for PS3!!!

Unfortunately here in NYC I almost have a 0% chance of that happening. But I will try as soon as I hear those things drop and be sure to report it back here for others to go.

Gave him the wrong month & day on purpose. Paid with cash so it doesn't matter.
 
I'm 32 and while I look a bit younger I'm clearly not under 18. Some places make you scan your ID and others just ask. I think Target used to scan it but they stopped and just sometimes ask to see it. I used to be really annoying because my card wouldn't scan so I always had to go through this embarrassing process of having a manager come over and override it.

Never in my life would I give hat to anyone without a lawful purpose. Not even best buy and their ridiculous return policy. I've never once given it to them.

I know the feeling. I bought Hunted Demon's Forge on clearance awhile back and I felt like the verification process made me look like I was buying porn to the people in line behind me. It's especially weird at places like Target where no one expects that to happen and soccer moms behind you assume you are some degenerate.

It's about as embarrassing as getting a price check on condoms or tampons.

I demand a manager come over. Target doesn't need to scan my ID and they have no right to the information contained there. Corporate policy doesn't trump my right to privacy.
Anyway, grabbed Mario Part 8 for $14.98 for my daughter for Xmas.

I appreciate you wanting privacy, but I guess I don't see the harm in just letting them see your ID. What loss of privacy are you concerned about? Perhaps I just don't care that people might see my address or know my DOB. Those things are pretty easy to find online if they really wanted it for some reason. I just feel like when I refuse on simple things like that, it just makes me look like a jerk or a problem customer and the only ones I would be affecting (giving a hard time) are the people who don't make the rules (cashier or manager) and have little to no control over it.

Maybe i'm just a sellout to the man.

Haha, so true. They have no clue what you're actually buying, and even if they realize it's a game they're still going to look at you in a "tisk tisk" way.

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the reason is so they know you don't have a fake ID. It's the same thing at some liquor stores where they scan it. I really don't think it's to track you, because what would they be tracking that would possibly harm your privacy?

Now in some cases they ARE tracking you. Like at WalMart when you make returns without receipts they're tracking you to make sure you're not just scamming them on a regular basis. Same thing at pharmacies when they scan it, they are tracking you to make sure you're not buying massive amounts of drugs to sell and/or use to breakdown to make more serious drugs.
