Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

DAMN YOU EL STASHEMO!

I found a store that shows a Bioshock 2 LE in stock, but neither the electronics person nor I could find it. :(

She said someone probably stashed it somewhere.
Picked up a Room Essentials Bungee Chair for $12.48 (marked down from $49.99
I picked up two of those. They are awesome! The site said they had limited availability in blue, green, and black. I only found two. One had a sticker for $34.xx but it scanned for $12.48. I asked customer service if they had any more and she scanned my chair and said they have none of those chairs in any color in stock. I asked her how that was possible if I have 2 in my cart. She just stayed shut and I just walked away. I know there are more there but I couldn't find them :bomb:

That sucks. The store I just came from had a whole side of one isle dedicated to them in various colors besides black. I grabbed the only black one they had.
The general consensus on the thread is that the GH5 bundle and the Bioshock 2 SE were both originally over $60 so they do not qualify for the B2G1.
I was able to get an override for the Guitar Hero 5 bundle about 2 hours ago at our local Target. Got the GH5 bundle, Plants Vs. Zombies, and a copy of Super Street Fighter IV for about $45 after tax.

Initially, I just asked the guy in electronics to help me grab two other games and had him ring up the purchase. When it didn't calculate the free game, he called a manager; musing that the free game wasn't calculating because the GH5 was a clearance item. I grabbed a game-only GH5 copy to ring up to show that clearance status didn't matter.

He then thought (rightly) that the GH5 bundle was over the $59.99 price point at regular price so that's maybe why it wasn't working. I looked over to the sign and politely noted that there was no disclaimer about previous price points; only current pricing. The manager then arrived and he demonstrated to her that it wasn't an issue with "clearance" pricing. That manager then escalated, checked the signage and weekly ad and the clerk got the ok to override.

All in all, it took about 10 minutes with a lot of "please", "thank you's" and small talk about gaming. Nothing wrong with politely going for the deal, because they can override the system in this case. Worked for me!

Nice.... BUT, it's so much more fun to demand that they honor the deal, because I deserve it and those mindless drones must give it to me.

DISCLAIMER: This statement was made in jest. I know it is difficult to discern tone on an Internet forum. I may be a bit jaded from following the pennied guide thread where some feel it is a right to get (nearly) free stuff.

I always find it helpful to start crying when they don't sell me the guide and/or pee myself.

the problem with b2g1 on clearance games is that there's like 1 clearance game i want. but thanks for the headsup everyone on this working. (late i know.)

Does anyone know of law in Wisconsin. My gf is trying to tell me I will never see these killer deals in town because we can't sell below retail in the state of WI. I will google it but can any one else confirm ?

Nice new thread, I just hope the deals follow. My Target has been pretty crappy since early summer. Either they are going to clearance everything out for Xmas or the manager is hoping clueless soccer moms will buy up 2 year old games for $29.99
just looked it up :( The Unfair Sales Act Why Wisconsin :(
I was curious, so I looked it up. Read the fine print. You'll be fine:

Exceptions to the law are made to allow for matching a competitor's price, clearance and final liquidation sales, sales of damaged merchandise and perishables, contracted governmental institution sales and for merchandise sold to charitable or relief agencies.

http://datcp.state.wi.us/trade/business/unfair-comp/unfair_sales_act.jsp

that law is "below cost" not "below retail". When you said, retail, i thought "that law makes no sense." interesting that wisconsin feels a need for it though. The other day, i got a prescription filled and target told me it was more than their $4 because they couldn't sell it below cost. Since it was $5, i didn't care. (cool story, bro.)

Still, clearance is fine. i think you might just have an el hoardo.

LOL! No worries. My sarcasm detector is pretty good. ;)

Ironic though that you mention penny guides. I drove over to Best Buy and found Alan Wake and Star Ocean Last Hope guides for $.01 right after getting the GH5 deal at Target.

Anyone else have issues where it seems that all clearance games are pulled for this week because of the Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal?

A Target I frequent often has TONS of clearance and not just newer stuff (last week I was there I found an original run copy of Infamous (still had Uncharted 2 Beta key sticker on it)) and now today when I went I found like 2 clearance games!

I highly doubt that they have all been sold but I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed this?

Thanks for all the good wishes...much appreciated.

First let me just say a few things:

1) I'm open to suggestions about the thread and how it is set up but it's only my first day so let me get a week or so under my belt before we go and change anything. I think everybody realizes that the clearance prices are super YMMV but it's nice to see when and where prices have gone down....

2) I will not post any prices that have gone beyond 75% (anything ending in x.94) or ending in a four because it's just so random.

3) I'm going to only post prices for games and game related items. (no toasters, pajamas or food items....etc)

Thanks guys. I had a tough first day running this thread.... was playing ice hockey on my team "Beaver Liquors" last night and smashed head first into the boards...now I've got a bulging disc in my neck and a hairline fracture of my left forearm so it was not a good day....

anyways keep the posts coming and please try to post DCPI numbers!!!

PM me with any ? or suggestions!

EDIT: OP UPDATED!

Yikes! Makes me feel like a baby for complaining about the bruise on my arm that I got blocking a slapshot on Sunday.

Good luck with the thread and the injuries.

:360: Rock Band 2 bundle - $97.xx in Brea, CA

If it gets considerably cheaper, I might bite just to replace my RB1 instruments.

My general bumps and bruises from dealing with being a goalie are not much compared to what he went through there.

Thanks for the well wishes. I'll be ok but won't be skating for a while....

Good luck with the new thread and I hope the injuries heal fast, cuz I know there's no place I'd rather be than out on the ice!! I've got the bruises to prove it :) Two games in a row blocked a slapshot in the same damn spot, but you definitely got the worst of it here :(

Maybe we should keep it strictly electronics? Target definitely clearances some good miscellaneous electronics and it would be nice to have a heads up on them. It was because of this thread that I got my Acer monitor and Harmony remote controllers. And I remember Target clearancing some TV's in the past as well. Just a suggestion.

yeah I hear ya....i think that is a good idea. Thanks for the input!

I bought GH5 Guitar+Game for $22.48 on clearance; and asked the guy to check if would ring as B2G1 free and it did not. Now, it could be because it was a bundle, but other bundles that were full price were clearly marked as eligible for B2G1. So it could be the 'clearance' tag or just specifically that bundle was not on the list.

The B2G1 lists games $19.99 or above, so a clearance game below that would definitely not count.

EDIT: Went back and saw previous posts. I believe the other CAGers are correct this does not qualify for B2G1 because it cost more than $60 initially. If you can get a manager to override, then great, but it will not ring up as B2G1. However, clearance items that WERE between $20-$60 initially probably WILL qualify. Only one way to find out!
if a game was 29.99 but is now priced on clearance for $7.48, does it qualify for the B2G1?
If I'm remembering right it has to be $15 to $60 to qualify for the b2g1 free. So I don't think that game would qualify as while it was $30 its not $7.48. I could be wrong though.

Multiple reports from other CAG's have the clearance games that were originally priced from $14.99 to $59.99 as qualifying for the B2G1 regardless the clearance price....

I just picked up GH5 Guitar+Game for $22.48. The tag was still showing only 30% off price but when I did a price scan it came up 22.48 so I snagged it.

Priced checked RB2 SE bundle hoping to get lucky again but still came up at $97.xx

Too bad I couldn't find any :360: titles worth getting for $19.99 or cheaper other than Plants vs. Zombies. No :360: clearance titles on the shelf at all.

YES! I PLAY FOR BEAVER LIQUORS!

I removed a couple of the old, stale $4.98 games going back to 6/2010...

For Pittsburgh, PA area CAGs: Was in the Harmar, PA Target on Freeport Rd., and I saw the :360: Collector's Edition of Bioshock 2 for $17.xx. Box was pretty beat up on it. They also had GH 5 w/ guitar for :360: and :ps3: for $22.xx. Good luck.

Weird, did not work for me ... same tried 3@ $4.98 originally $19.99...
and my receipt shows all three must be returned for a refund, not 33% of the value of each one... so there are variations out there...

Damn. I was just down marauding in the Pittsburgh area today.

I only hit two Targets though.

Also, the DPCI for the Bose Headphones is 057-01-0121

Anyone in Arizona know what's on clearance in either the mesa/tempe/chandler area or buckeye/goodyear area?

Heading up into the valley this weekend and curious if there is anything good.

Here are some DCPI numbers for a couples games in the OP that are missing them.

Darksiders PS3 [207 24 0293]
Brutal Legend PS3 [207 24 0289]
Resident Evil 5 Gold PS3 [207 24 0349]
Lego Rock Band PS3 [207 24 0309]
Bayonetta PS3 [207 24 0317]

I have some more DCPI numbers on a piece of paper in my car, I'll post them up when I can, mostly PS3 games though.
