Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

My target had a lot of the same stuff as a week ago at the same price. They added little big planet/dual shock bundles for $4x.xx which seems like a great deal if you need a controller.

Saw Little Big Planet GOTY GH with a black PS3 dualshock bundle for $42 on clearance. Original price is $60. Already have enough PS3 controllers and the only other color I want is the blue one.
Anyone have the DCPI for the LBP/Controller pack by chance?
207-24-0359 was the DPCI last time I saw one of those. Unfortunately I haven't seen one in over six months when they clearanced out here, just when I was starting to follow this thread. And I missed it :wall:
Apparently a couple Wiis at my local store survived Black Friday at the $139.98 price. Was a little shocked to see that.
My family picked one up Saturday night...

Yeah, that's the DPCI for the LBP/Dualshock bundle. Picked one up earlier today.

@ rbarba4

I work at a Target and we got less than 10 of the 46"... and they were literally sold out within a minute of the doors opening. I went to another store and the same thing happened. We haven't gotten any more, but we did get 4 of the 40" they started using as a sub for the 40" Westinghouse. All I can say is good luck!
I stumbled across 15 copies of Madden NFL 09 - $9.98 at the Seal Beach Target, if of any of you sports fans feel like reliving the past. LoL Really Target?! Really??? Let's not start acting like K-Mart here.
Better than the literally 40-50 Madden 08s for PS2 I found last year at a single walmart. They still wanted $19.98 for them too!

(I have a picture around here somewhere if anyone is interested)

I know this happens with a bunch of non-sports games too... but seriously, do they need to print/make a copy for every living person on the planet that has a gaming system + more?

I'm glad to see it. The PS2 is still a very live platform even if developers don't want to make games for it. Hell, the Wii just sold 600,000 units last week, and developers don't want to make games for it either.

I'm not doubting that the PS2 is still alive and kicking when it comes to people who own and actively play their system. I'm saying that when it comes to a lot of sports games in general they make too many copies of the game and over saturate the market with games no one really wants.

On the flip side it sucks when companies don't make ENOUGH copies of a game and it ends up being impossible to find a copy. A closer estimate of the supply & demand of a game might go a long way to solving the "mountain of the same game" phenomenon.

Anyone want to pick up a Xbox 360 RB2:SE on clearance for me somewhere, I'd be willing to throw in a bit extra for your trouble (not a lot, but like $10)

Do you mean $10 plus the humongous shipping charge?

Anyway, here is the DPCI for anyone interested:

207-22-0257
207-24-0359 was the DPCI last time I saw one of those. Unfortunately I haven't seen one in over six months when they clearanced out here, just when I was starting to follow this thread. And I missed it :wall:

Yeah, that's the DPCI for the LBP/Dualshock bundle. Picked one up earlier today.
Thanks. Gonna have to check for it today and add it to my list of games to start checking nearby. Last time I checked it wasn't clearanced yet.
Saw Little Big Planet GOTY GH with a black PS3 dualshock bundle for $42 on clearance. Original price is $60. Already have enough PS3 controllers and the only other color I want is the blue one.
Really? Wow, I didn't even think that came out yet. New to PS3 since I just got one this week and both Amazon and Gamestop say it's being released next week as well as a God of War Collection version with a red controller.

EDIT: Called all my local stores that claimed to have it in stock and they couldn't locate the item. Maybe it's being reissued for next week and that's why they say they have it in stock?
Better than the literally 40-50 Madden 08s for PS2 I found last year at a single walmart. They still wanted $19.98 for them too!

(I have a picture around here somewhere if anyone is interested)
That's nothing. For the last three years I've been keeping tabs (when I'm in the area) on a Walmart that has all the Sony and a few EA PS2 sports games from 2004 and 2005 and The Bouncer (PS2) and Kakuto Chojin (?) for xbox all for $50 each. Most of the cover athletes are no longer in their leagues, like Shawn Green.
did these little big planet goty controller bundles fell off a truck or something? i thought they were on clearance long ago.
2 showed up at the Palm Bay FL store also... weird.

Btw, here's a few DPCIs to help out:
Uncharted 2 (non-GOTY) :ps3: 207 24 0271 $19.98
Green Day Rock Band :360: 207 22 0479 $24.98
Van Halen Guitar Hero :360: 207 22 0435 $34.98

I work at a Target and we got less than 10 of the 46"... and they were literally sold out within a minute of the doors opening. I went to another store and the same thing happened. We haven't gotten any more, but we did get 4 of the 40" they started using as a sub for the 40" Westinghouse. All I can say is good luck!
Thanks Larrythefatcat. Figured the 40" WH would be the big get item but I guess people will grab anything on BF just to justify the wait.

Went to 2 Targets in Omaha, NE two days ago and most of the clearance games were still there from before black friday. The only ones that looked like they sold were Uncharted 2 for $19 and SSFIV for $13. I picked up the last copy of SSFIV that survived through Black Friday, it's a fighter!
Just picked up Mass Effect 2 for $13.98 on clearance at Little Rock, AR.
FYI, was 9.99 @ Amazon yesterday w/ free shipping and 10 credit on live card (almost worthless though).
Apparently a couple Wiis at my local store survived Black Friday at the $139.98 price. Was a little shocked to see that.
That's because everyone and their grandma (literally) already has one.

Wii sales are dropping off... 3DS will renew interest in Nintendo 2011.
But the Wii is long in the tooth both graphically, and now in motion controls too.
Expect a downward spiral if they cannot sell them for $140...
You can bet a price drop is imminent, probably Q1 2011,
meanwhile unload on unsuspecting gifters for the holidays.

Austin, TX Target near the Arboretum mall had a decent selection, including a few games with new prices AFAIK:

:360: RE5 Gold $20.98
:360: Lego Indiana Jones $9.98
:360: Dragon Age Origins $14.98

The other Austin Target near 51st has a huge stock of all sorts of stuff but no price drops.

Yeah, I bought it at Amazon for that price and I'll be returning the copy I bought at Target, with another game, come Friday.

I'm going to try to live-chat with Amazon customer service to see if I can use that $10 credit on points instead of a Live card (I already have 2). It will just expire for me.

just wondering, what were last year's black friday sales on wii?

last year, the wii came only with standard wii remote and wii sports. (i know, because nintendo suckered me into buying one for christmas last year.)

this year, the new wii bundles included a lot more in an $50 game (sports resort/nsmb) and motion plus built into wiimote (you can argue these are the new standard bundles). the deals for black friday included either $50 giftcard (amazon/walmart), straight $170-180 price (amazon/bestbuy), or goldeneye (from amazon).

makes me wonder, how much the wii console itself can sell w/o all these bonus items. it still it sold well over 600k units to new customers through the long bf weekend. that's nothing to scoff at.
Apparently a couple Wiis at my local store survived Black Friday at the $139.98 price. Was a little shocked to see that.
I wonder if that was a regional thing or something. The Target ad where I was over the holiday (visiting my parents in PA) had the Wii Fit on sale, but didn't have any deal on the Wii itself. My parents decided that they wanted one, so I ended up grabbing one at Best Buy for them for $169.99.

Well, I know that in the case of my parents, they really couldn't have cared less about the bonus items. They wanted it for Wii Fit. If I'd gotten them the NSMB bundle, the game would have just sat on their shelf untouched except for when my brother and I are home (and if we really want to play it then, I can always just bring along my copy). The $30 price drop at Best Buy was a nice bonus, but they had instructed me to get one for them elsewhere at full price if I couldn't manage to get one there. So I think it really depends on who the target audience is at this point.

Dang. You boys really are cheapassgamers! Lol.

My price point was to beat 19.99 so I'm happy.

BTW, I don't want to play the first one so is a quick recap of Mass Effect 1 ok? I heard it's technically flawed anyway.

Got Sin and Punishment for Wii for $25 in the clearance rack. Lanham, MD.

Also had Ps3 Alpha Protocol for $20. Is that game any good?
Lots of other games, mostly unwanted music games.

Don't know if I saw this posted yet but saw:

Star Wars Forced Unleash 2 CE at 50% for $39.98

Didn't get a chance to snag the DCPI and it was also the only one. Waay too much on my plate to justify a 40$ purchase. Even if it was a CE

I noticed a Fable III: CE on the first page by the OP for $27.98, where the hell is that at, I would love to get a copy of the CE for that, if anyone knows of any in Central Florida let me know please.

PS3 or 360? I noticed all the copies mysteriously disappeared at one target near me, at the other they are still holding strong at full price with Fable III CE.

Checked a couple more stores, but no new price drops. Did finally see the LBP bundle at $41.98 in one store. Think I'll hold off on any other trips 'til next week

Well to be fair, most people seeing the clearanced Wii systems already own a Wii or decided long ago that it wasn't worth it at any price over $100

Now if stores do advertised sales at $140, they will sell. It may be long in the tooth, but just think how long SONY got away with selling the PS2 at over $100. There was a good period where the PS2 was outselling the PS3. The general masses just don't worry too much about the graphical look .
Also had Ps3 Alpha Protocol for $20. Is that game any good?
Flawed game but can be enjoyable. At least I enjoyed it. I think of it like a flawed Mass Effect (first one, not the sequel) and that's saying something when you consider the flaws in the the first ME;). ME's still one of my all-time favorite games

But then again, I DID enjoy the Mako driving in ME, particularly driving it up mountains where you had no business going. There were a few times where I thought I was screwed but eventually worked my way out.

Sorry, could have swore I put 360. :360:

I've yet to find a Target in my area(West Volusia Count/NE Seminole County Florida) that actually has a video game clearance section that has anything other then Wii games. It's quite disappointing after seeing some of the deals other targets have :(

The Wii will almost assuredly get a price drop to $149 but probably not as fast as some gamers here think. It's possible Ninty might do that drop right around the same time it decides to release Wii HD -- which would be an easy way to keep the best version of it at $199.

If you scoped out some deals during the BF deals, you could have walked away with a Wii for $100.

I don't buy that the Wii sales are really dipping that much. I want to see how the console sales figures are after the holidays. I wouldn't be surprised if the Wii still outsells the PS3 and 360. It's not as if either of the true next-gen consoles have major killer apps this holiday season.

I know at my work, TRU, I still sell more Wii's than both PS3's and 360's combined.

Figures...I buy :360: Super Street Fighter IV from Amazon's Lightning Deal the other day for $15, and *now* it finally shows up clearanced at my Target for $13. Sure, it's only two dollars difference...but every dollar counts, right?

Also finally saw :360: Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition, rather than the PS3 version, as well as :360: Green Day: Rock Band, both clearanced at $27.98. Which I don't get how that's even a clearance price? I don't plan to buy either of those until they're $20 or under.

Also, the two copies of :360: Bayonetta that were there last week, "clearanced" for the ridiculous price of $59.99, were nowhere to be found. No idea if either they were finally repriced and sold immediately, or if they did with them whatever they do with games that sit around in clearance for too long without going anywhere.

Sorry if this ain't the right place, I don't drop in here too often.

But, scored :pc: TW: Napoleon for $7.48 at a NYC B&M Target tonight. If that's not clearance, then it's a clearance price.

(Ah, see it upthread. Well consider this proof!)
Wii sales are dropping off...
600,000 units sold in the US last week according to NPDs.

Not much of a drop off, just sayin'.

Some have been lucky at that price- The 5 or 6 stores by me aren't budging of $80 and I call will the item number once in a while and ask for the price. Btw- saw another LBP/controller bundle for $42 at a different target.
