Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
Why do people hide games? I was in my local Target today and found a couple clearance games hidden behind a stack of clothes. If there is only one copy of the game left in store, will the price even drop given the employees can't find it?
Well, people just don't know how the system works. Not everyone is an informed customer, or an enlightened CAG Level 2.

There is no way for the average customer to know that mark downs can only occur when the game is handled unless they are told.

Pity the fools, for they know not that their game will be bought at the higher price by a Soccer Mom anyhow.
Well it might have been a mistake, but they had the red clearance stickers on the game marked at $29.98 it two separate locations in the game section (it's own separate casing and grouped with the other clearance games behind the case).
I also purchased the ultimate edition for both systems at this price yesterday.

Well I saw Fallout GOTY for the 360 for $34.98 which is outrageous and Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition was $24.98 which isn't bad, but I already have RE5.

I think the idea is, if Target has two copies of a game, you go and hide one Sunday night, Monday morning roles around, they mark down the remaining copy, then your game is marked down in the system despite having the higher sticker price. You come back Monday afternoon after El Hoardo's Mom has wiped out the clearance section that morning and find your stashed game, and then you get your game for the marked down price whereas if you hadn't done that, anyone from the public at large could have purchased the marked down game Monday morning.

Pittsburgh, PA Target (Mt. Nebo Rd. location) I got:

:360: Brutal Legend: $4.98
:360: MX vs. ATV Reflex: $4.98

They still had lots of Sin & Punishment, Band Hero, RE: Darkside, RE 5 Gold, Fallout 3 GOTY, etc.

If a game has dropped the lowest it can go, but the employee's never marked it down, is there now 0 chance of it getting marked down? Or does it still pop up on there list the following week/s?

Well guys I finally found where they moved the game clearance too, if it wasnt for wifey I wouldve forever been pissed at my target. She was looking for books on clearance for her and the kids and came to the endcap. Facing the DVD wall there was the games and there was a nice selection. Fought with the clerks but managed to get :360: Borderlands DLC for 3.74. Also picked up :wii: Spongebob: truth or square for my son at 7.48. Mostly looked at the :360: games for myself, since its a cheap christmas gift. Alpha protocol and Borderlands found at 20.98.
Since my last post I thought the games were completely gone, so any one else have their targets just move all the games away from regular clearance to a separate endcap since black friday? I'm not mad since honestly from the look most people think the same as me, seriously how many folks look at the end of the book aisle?
If a game has dropped the lowest it can go, but the employee's never marked it down, is there now 0 chance of it getting marked down? Or does it still pop up on there list the following week/s?
They usually dont go by sticker price but by the scanned price. So if it's marked down lower in the system just ignore the price thats tagged on it.

Also if it's a item not recognized by system, its gone so low it's been pushed out of their system. Ask an employee for the last scanned price and ususally they will sell it to you. Just do it in electronics, the folks at the cashwrap will just put in whatever price it's stickered at. No way I'm paying 34.98 for a game thats been marked down to 7.48 ya dig?

Grabbed Resident Evil 5 Gold (9.98) and Dragon Age (7.48) today (both PS3). They appeared out of nowhere (been visiting almost daily) after having disappeared a couple of weeks ago. Both were marked @ 50% off, so I think someones stash got found.

Was at Target (Fresno-Riverpark) and picked up the last Oblivion GOTY Edition for $14.98 and they had so many RE5 Gold for 360 and Fallout 3 GOTY but still $28.
Has anyone seen Green Day Rock Band for Xbox 360 marked $9.98 yet?
Unfort. not, only for the Wii...

Picked up Oblivion GOTY (X360) for $14.xx.

Still waiting for Green Day RB to drop. 2 Targets have them for $27.98 and another one had it for $19.98... Come on drop!

2 Targets had GTA4:EoLC for $20.98...

I have 2 local stores that I check from time to time. One of them has 2 different endcaps that the clearance games may be on. And the other has about 5 places that I have to check every time I go in. Seriously, it's like they move them every week or two. And it's been like this since before they got the new setup in the games section.

I am still waiting on green day as well. All the targets near me (Daytona and Sanford areas, FL) still have it for 40.

Same here... I bought one from the 1960 store at $28 for a Xmas gift but I'm waiting for a drop so I can buy one for myself. :)
Pity the fools, for they know not that their game will be bought at the higher price by a Soccer Mom anyhow.
Yeah, that's def. true in our neck of the woods.

I was able to pick up White Knight Chronicles :ps3: for $12.48 this morning.
Having second thoughts about it now though...hmmm.

Do you think it will go lower before selling out? I've been wanting that one for a while but have quite a backlog.

I haven't seen too many copies of the White Knight, maybe 2 at each store I've been too, so if it dropped to $12.48, I'd definitely get it!

Sounds like there was a drop today then..hopefully Alpha Protocal :ps3: droped as well as some others. They have a nice round of games out right now, but I don't think they'll last to the $4.98 mark like some of the ones from 2 weeks ago..

I was at a Target last week I never go to, and 2 soccer moms were literally arranging the clearance endcap games by console, and there were a lot of games, maybe 100. I tried to force my way in there which was met by mean glances on their part. I then proceeded to un-arrange their piles and completely mix it up and knocked over a mini tower they had going, and walked away. It was nice!

Nothing dropped around me. A lot of the PS3 stuff is gone now, only thing left is Lost Planet 2 and Alpha Protocol is seems. There's still plenty of 360 stuff though.

The drops beyond 75% are rare. They can happen but not too often. If you want it, I'd grab it now. $12.48 seems like a reasonable price. I'm surprised it didn't disappear at $24.xx.

AP :)ps3:/:360:) appeared to be the same price here as was Band Hero, Rhythm Heaven and a few others I've been watching. I didn't scan them however because I was in a hurry. But I was in that same Target on Friday night and WKC was $24.xx, so there may have been a limited drop here.

Which 1960 store? The one by Academy or the one by Willowbrook mall?
Let me know if you guys spot Fable 3 Collector's Edition on clearance.
Scanned it. Retail here.

EDIT: I take it back. My wife went to a different Target that had the CE for $55 today. They were never on the floor and must have come straight out of the backroom. She snagged one for me.

I've been waiting for it to drop to this. Hope it dropped here too (and that there are still copies left by the time I get there).

Any glitter?
Saw :ps3: GH5 (9.98), RE5:GE (9.98) and Rock Band 2 SE (34.98). Passed on all. Don't need any more music shit and RE for :360: sits at the house barely used.
IDK man, hard to pass up that RE5: GE esp at that price, if Move is short lived, the more supported games in your collection the better..

and yeah, no new drops except for White Knight to $12.48 which is so weird.. AVP and Alpha Protocol both for :360: sit at $20.98..
Let me know if you guys spot Fable 3 Collector's Edition on clearance.
The Fable III Ce showed up at 2 of my Targets today. Never saw them in the past but they rang up $55.xx

Exton, PA and Lionville, PA

They both have Fable III: LE, 1 and 2 copies respectively at each location for $55.xx.

Exton also all had a bunch of new entries, including Red Steel 2, with the controller attachment, and Dragon Age Origins: Ultimate Edition among other holdovers.

Lionville had Star Sucessor Wii for $12.48.

Yeah, had two totally random Fable III CE's show up at one of my stores today (ie they weren't on the floor beforehand) for the $55.xx price. Went ahead and grabbed 'em. Didn't think they'd make it any further.

I picked up xbox 360 and wii version for 7 bucks two weeks ago but it was at certain stores. The other stores i check were selling still for regular price.

Thanks man will do BTW just picked AP on PS3 for $10 last one but they had 2 360 ones left for $15 if you want them at the steeplechase target store on 1960

The DA: Ultimate HAS to be a mistake, even if it's a mistake at the corporate level. It just came out and includes basically all THE DLC. If it goes much lower it'll even be worth it for me, I own DA, DA: A, Leliana and Return to Ostagar... I'll have to price it out and see when it would be worth it for the rest of the DLC.

i found 2 Fable III LCE at $55 and White Knight at $13 that i picked up. still undecided if i'm going to keep any of them. don't know if i'm up for a JRPG like white knight right now

Shoot at ~$30 I might have to pick it up if I can find it anywhere!

Not sure of it though. If it was a wrong tag intended for the regular DO:A, it would have been $20.98, $14.98 or $7.48 since their regular price was $29.99. The fact that it was a $29.98 tag means the pre-clearance price was $59.99 ($41.98, $29.98 and eventually $14.98).

To those who got the LE for $29.98, did the tag has the same DPCI as the UE rang up in your receipt?

I picked up the UE from Kmart on Thanksgiving for $35 before gaming coupon, so it's still a good deal for me.

For what I don't own (I also have the Stone Prisoner and Warden's Keep since I got it when it first came out) it would have to drop to under $21 for it to be worth it.

Then again the TiV for DA:O is $9 and so is Awakening so if I bought it at $30 and traded them in I'd have a net gain of $9...
