Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
what's annoying about the ID scanning is two things:

1-Sometimes they don't know which bar code to scan (as there are two) and they usually pull the scanner gun so far back that the light tries scanning both of them and messes up :(

2-I still have my old license and won't switch over to the new shitty looking one. It's still valid and legally acceptable yet once and awhile I get lip about it saying "That doesn't look like a VA drivers license...it's suppose to be this!(pulls out new shitty one) "
I just had to renew mine. Cost me $32. And they used the same picture from when I was 21. I don't have to renew again til I'm 33, but I already get looks now as I do not look that young anymore. I can only imagine how much a 12 year difference will throw people off. Oh, and I think both licenses are shitty. I like the new ones though, as it is easier to tell if they are counterfeits or not.

I'm lucky. here in AZ our licenses don't have to be renewed till you're 65

So sad @ my local Target....

I've watched their stock of Fable III LE for the last month or so and they've had 3 in the back room sitting at $79.99 ... then I see you guys posting about stores having them for $55.98 -- which is worth it to me -- so I check their stock today and they are completely sold out. Buddy of mine said he pulled them from the backroom on Wednesday night, so someone hoarded all 3 copies today shortly after being marked. Sigh.

Just getting around to posting some finds from early in the week (kept forgetting to get the DPCI's).

Got Tournament of Legends
iconwii.gif
at 4.98. Took long enough for it to drop
DPCI # 207-26-0624

At another store I found Just Cause 2
iconpcwin.gif
at 5.04 (85% off:hot:).
DPCI# 201-02-0702

And I also saw Band Hero
iconwii.gif
drop to 9.98, but the 360 and PS3 versions are still ringing up at 28/20 respectively.

Other than that, clearance was really picked over. All the LBP/controller bundles disappeared along with all the copies of Dragon Age (both versions) before they got a chance to drop.

At least I found a complete DA:O at BBV, so it worked out to the 7.50 I wanted to pay at Target;).

Still hoping for a drop on Oblivion, but doubt they'll survive. There's only like 4 copies among three stores and they still haven't dropped past $21:bomb:. Oh well, I've gone this long without playing it.
Was able to get the last copies of the following

:ps3: Resident Evil 5 Gold $9.98
:wii: Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles $9.98
:wii: Sin & Punishment 2 $12.48

A big thanks to kiribee for the info on Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles. Got to love target clearance
I paid $19.98 for Resident Evil Darkside Chronoicles a couple of days ago. I guess that Target was slow on marking it down. I'm going to return it.

Does Target do return/rebuy to get the lower price? I have Just Cause 2 for the PC and payed $9.99 so I'd like to get it for $5 if they have marked it down.

No, they don't. There is no way to really know if your target would have marked down the price or not. In my experience if a store doesn't have the game in it's inventory, it never goes down in price again. What I do is rebuy the game at the lower price then return it with the old receipt to get your money back. I've done that before, and have watched a game that has been out of inventory for more than a month get re-marked at the price I bought it for and never get marked down again. It all just depends on the store.

Went to Target yesterday and typed in the DPCI for DA:O Ultimate and it said they had some in the stockroom... I got excited for half a second until I realized it hadn't dropped in price yet. Ah well.

Still waiting for Green Day RB to drop!
I saw Fable 3 LE's for $55.xx at my store. I passed and icked up the last 360 NBA Live 10 for $7.48.
Don't you think about the person who might want NBA Live 10? Icking up the game and all is just plain rude. :p

Sigh.
clearly not a true buddy if he didn't save one for you!
But why? Is it really that much effort for you to get your ID out? All that doing something like that would accomplish would be to make it easier for a cashier to sell to someone underage (which, in the case of booze, could get not just the cashier but the store in significant trouble).
WE really shouldn't start this debate again. I know I was involved in the first go around...

They should only verify a person's birthdate, not scan and track your buying habits. They have no notification your ID will be scanned. It is an invasion of privacy.

I wasn't really talking about the scanning part of it (I agree, I don't care for them storing/tracking data), just the ID checking. All I was saying was that I think it's entirely valid for them to have an "everyone gets their ID checked, no matter how old they look" policy.

That being said, I don't know how much of an "invasion of privacy" it really is for them to track buying habits. Do you have a membership card at your local grocery store, drug store, book store, or, hell, GameStop? The whole reason they issue those is to track your buying habits. So really, it could be argued that the only thing that Target is doing differently is not making you carry an extra card around in your wallet (thank goodness for that, I don't think I have room for more). Also, unlike those other stores, since they're only getting data on you purchasing a select few types of products (M-rated games, alcohol -- um, is there anything else they track?), it's not even really very useful data (unless maybe they want to see if you're an alcoholic who likes to play violent games or something).

Though it could easily be argued that these stores keep way too much data. I bought some Sudafed at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago when I happened to be in the town where I lived in college and a few years after (in a different state than I live in now). They had to scan my ID for the purchase (state law for that one), and when they did, their computer pulled up an address that I moved out of in July 1999. In, again, a different state than my current ID is even from -- how it linked that ID with data from back then, I have no idea (allegedly, VA eliminated SSNs from IDs several years ago, so it shouldn't have been that -- though this makes me suspicious, because I don't know what else would link the data so immediately like that). That was more than a little freaky and Big Brother-ish.

What can i say I just LOVE basketball! Cleanup on the clearance endcap!!

In Texas, there was a place that scanned your license for buying alcohol, because there's record accessible to them to see if you're not on probation.

Scanning the id also gives them the benefit of making sure the license is legit.

I've had some pretty good Target acquisitions over the past few months. On Black Friday, I was able to pick up Dragon Quest IX and Final Fantasy XIII (PS3) for $17 each.

I picked up Endless Ocean: Blue World for $15 a few weeks ago. I also got Super Street Fighter IV (360) and Oblivion: Game of the Year edition (360) for $15 each. And just yesterday I grabbed Mass Effect 2 for $10, Guitar Hero 5 (PS3) for $10, and Aliens Vs. Predator (360) for $15.

I picked up a copy of Sin and Punishment: Star Successor before Thanksgiving for $25. I thought it would probably get cleared out over Black Friday, so I jumped the gun a little bit. I'm still seeing copies of it in Targets now for $12. For any Wii owners out there, this is a great deal. Sin and Punishment is Treasure doing what they do best. Also got a copy of Project Gotham Racing 4 for $10.

Nyquil.

Seriously, every time I try and buy cough medicine, particularly brand/generic Dayquil/Nyquil I'm asked for my ID. I'm always a little amused by this. It's not like getting meth-ingredient-having Sudefed.

Um, NyQuil, in all forms but one, has pseudoephedrine, the same chemical in Sudafed that's used to make meth. Also, NyQuil has alcohol, and I've known at least two people in college that drank it for the alcohol when they weren't sick.

I saw one Fable III LE for 55.xx and a bunch of copies of Napoleon: Total War on PC for 7.48 each. This is the College Ave. location in Fort Collins, CO.

Actually, they stopped putting pseudoephedrine in most NyQuil back in 2005. The only NyQuil that contains it now is NyQuil D, which they keep behind the counter like they do for all other pseudoephedrine products. That being said, they may still be checking ID on the others because of the alcohol. Probably depends on state laws.

Kids also buy it to get high off dxm (Dextromethorphan) which is another reason why they card.

The main difference in the situation is those are all "opt in" cards. They tell you in the fine print what data they keep. Someone asking to see your license to verify your DOB and scanning it without telling you is with no notification is what bothers me.

Hopefully I will not read one day... arcane93 was involved in a traffic altercation. It was labeled a road rage incident and authorites believe arcane93's behavior was caused by his regular purchases of violent video games. ;)

"Due to his long record of purchasing Sudafed, police are investigating whether he was high on meth at the time."

The thing is, how often do you actually read the fine print on those opt-ins, anyway? Most people probably see the discounts and such offered and don't even think any further. But yeah, I agree with your point, they shouldn't be doing it without notification regardless.

If anyone is near Rancho Cucamonga, there's one more Batman: AA for $7.48.

DPIC Batman AA - 207 22 0343

Also picked up the last copy of RE 5: Gold edition PS3 for $9.98.

damn i was just in the area. is this the target on haven? I totally should have stopped by, but went to the one off campus instead. and that was a bust. totally wanted batman for that price and nice pick up on RE 5!

The Target at Queens Place in Elmhurst, NY has a TON of Oblivion GOTY for $14 and one Fable III CE for $55.
Fallout 3 GOTY $35 for both 360 & PS3
I think I also got the last copy of Dragon Age: Origins for $15 but there might be another one stuffed in the back of the shelf somewhere

And... I'm back.

Picked up:

Endless Ocean: Blue World Bundle - $7.48
Spongebob's Truth or Square - $7.48
Glory of Heracles - $7.48

I saw alot of stuff mentioned in the OP but still at 30-50% off. Among the highlights:

Uncharted 2 - $19.98
Fable III CE - $55.98

Also, passed on RE5 PS3 and Punch Out! Wii. Both were at 50% off. I'm sure I'll regret passing on them later on but whatever.

Didn't see any Fable III CE, but I saw PS3 DJ Hero for $35.

Do clearance games differ from Target to Target stores?

I don't think anyone has mentioned DJ Hero being on clearance.

Also, I thought read Vanquish was on clearance, but that was in the plastic prison with the other games. I'm guessing at full price.

The scan for alcohol has to do with the law, where with games there is no law, it's just a corporate policy. The two are not related beyond the fact that they both involve scanning of ID. I don't think Target has any need for the information on my license, and a visual verification is plenty. I will continue to be "that guy" and have them call a manager to bypass the scan.
Back to the thread, already in progress....
I checked through the topic since RE5 gold edition on ps3 was mentionedbut don't see the dpci for it can someone post it please.
Check the OP, lists a lot of DCPI numbers for current clearance items.

Oh ok I was only seeing the dpci as people were listing them. Thanks though.

Picked up the Fable III CE for $56. I have a guy that does the return/rebuy for me when games drop, just have to bring him in the UPC or UPC # and receipt. Very cool of him. I have a copy of the Halo Reach I bought for $110 and have to bring in the stuff to get it reduced. Anyone know what the last price was for it?

Scanned the last two pages and didn't see it, but might of missed it. Came across several copies of Dragon Age Ultimate for $30 the other day.

Got the Fable III CE for 55.98

Also got Wolfenstein PS3 for 12.48

First time I'd seen the Fable CE anywhere in a Target....I had been to about 10 Targets.

Just got Red Steal 2 for 7.49$! Rhythm Heaven was also the same price but I passed on it because I already have such a long queue to work through
Anybody find any printable Target coupons that can be used in store on video games?
After that whole coupon fraud last year where Target even put up signs that they wouldnt allow printed coupons to work, I doubt there is any.

Did that include the Motion+ or was that the software?

I finally saw the M+ package on clearance at my T, still like $20+ though. I don't really need another M+ but I would like to get that game.

if you have time PM me i'd love to hear about this

just for laughs

I may be wrong, but I think he is thinking of the 10 off 20 at Kmart that lasted a day in May until they put up the signs.

Anyone have success stories from NYC? Wolfenstein rang up for $25 in Brooklyn today, and Singularity was most definitely not on clearance. (on PS3)
if you have time PM me i'd love to hear about this

The barcode system for coupons was found out at one point in time and people were making fake manufacturers coupons for huge discounts. One I remember seeing what people claimed to work multiple times was one for a free PS3 that worked at Toys R Us, people even posted pics of receipts to show they worked. I think I saved one of those pics somewhere but I can't remember. Most of the coupons were made to seem legit too such as $5 off a pack of monster drinks, or 50% off some items such as points cards. Ever since the week or two these worked, companies caught onto what was going on and started making rules against taking printed coupons even if they worked.

I randomly found a copy of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 for PS3 for $7.48 this past Monday and picked it up.
I'd like to play the original game first, but it's like 3 times the price for a used copy.

Wolfenstein PS3 $12.48 @ least a few copies

Dragon Age Ultimate Edition PS3/360 $29.98 @ least a few copies each

FO3 GOTY $29.98 360 @ least a couple

Uncharted 2 NON GOTY $19.98

Darkside Chronicles $9.98

Red Steel 2 $7.48

Punch Out $12.48 ... 2 copies

Glory of Heracles $7.48 ...might pick this up later on

Mostly Wii/DS shovelware otherwise... meh

Noticed that Excitebot Trick Racing Wii is NCF w/ a shelf tag of $49.99 however can be had currently @ Kmart for $19.99 on clearance before coupons.
