Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
I may be wrong, but I think he is thinking of the 10 off 20 at Kmart that lasted a day in May until they put up the signs.
No it was Target. A couple years ago, there was a $5 off $25 toy coupon Target released and someone doctored it up to make it $5 off ANY $25 purchase. It worked multiple times. Target put out signs all over the registers and doors saying they would not take any printed coupons for the time being.

I remember some CAGs getting 75-90% off clearance games and the $5 off on top of that. Good days.

People should have just used the original coupon. It would work as long as you had 1 toy in the transaction. I bought a ton of Target exclusive GI Joes and Star Wars guys.

The BIG difference with the K-mart coupon is that was a valid coupon. I got the email. I clicked through it and I printed the coupon and they would not take it. I even brought in the email and they still didn't take it. I should have complained to corporate.
damn i was just in the area. is this the target on haven? I totally should have stopped by, but went to the one off campus instead. and that was a bust. totally wanted batman for that price and nice pick up on RE 5!
Yeah. It's the Target on Haven.
Anyone have success stories from NYC? Wolfenstein rang up for $25 in Brooklyn today, and Singularity was most definitely not on clearance. (on PS3)
No, it sucks here. Every other month or so I spend a couple hours realizing everything is out of stock while still being on its first drop. Probably most things were oos before it hit clearance as I've scanned regular stuff seeing oos at msrp.
After that whole coupon fraud last year where Target even put up signs that they wouldnt allow printed coupons to work, I doubt there is any.
i didn't see any signs posted by target, but i remember the thread on SD had like 80,000 replies and probably 5x that amount in views.

I got Alpha Protocol and GTA: Episodes from Liberty City (Both 360) for $14.98 each.

I've heard Alpha Protocol is more fun that reviewers led on, so I'm willing to try it out.

Anyone else here play it? Thoughts?
If anyone is near Rancho Cucamonga, there's one more Batman: AA for $7.48.

DPIC Batman AA - 207 22 0343

Also picked up the last copy of RE 5: Gold edition PS3 for $9.98.
Damn that Target usually doesn't have crap when I look for PS3 stuff. Luckily in this area we have lots of Targets with in a 20 mile radius. Good find on the RE 5: Gold.

Hey guys...did Punch Out start showing up at your stores (like Oblivion is showing up on many stores now) or has it been at your store for a while now?

Yeah im pretty sure i saw it for 12.48 at target....

in a random visit to a target I saw a guy returning a RE5 Gold for PS3. I asked the cashier if I could purchase it and she said yes. rang up at 9.xx SCORE!

the dude returned it cuz he purchased it at 29.xx

Picked up Sin & Punishment Wii for $12.48

Hoping to possibly trade it after giving it a shot. Surprised my store had anything left after BF and these last few weeks. Was hoping to find Punch Out Wii but oh week.

Saw:

NHL 10 PS3 $7.48
NHL 10 360 $17.xx
RE5 Gold 360 $27.xx

I saw 2 Fable III LE for $55 and passed. I saw a bunch of DAO UE for the 360 in the clearance pile, but they weren't clearanced. I'm going to keep an eye on those.
I got Alpha Protocol and GTA: Episodes from Liberty City (Both 360) for $14.98 each.

Alpha Protocol is a lot like Deus Ex or Mass Effect 1: an RPG/shooter with a good story and a lot of variation in outcomes (much more so than Mass Effect), but it is bogged down with clunky game mechanics, some bad design decisions, and a glut of bugs (more so in the PC version than on the 360).

The best feature is that you can literally go through the game a half dozen times and have the events play out differently each time, since your choices have significant impacts.

Here's a tip: put a bunch of skill points into pistols. Two of the boss fights are terribly frustrating unless you have Chain Shot, in which case you can breeze past them in seconds.

Was at the clearence section

didnt see anything stellar.
Yu-gi-oh for the ds 15
resident evil 5 gold -$27
Alpha Protocol- $25

I even scanned a few.
I did pick up a copy of Fossil Fighters since I have the guide.
$15. Will try some others sometime

If anyone's interested in trading a Fable III LE for :360: COD: Black Ops & perhaps another game or some extra cash, shoot me a PM.

I picked up the last Fossil Fighters in Short Pump for $7.xx. I picked up the last 3 @ Staples Mill for $14.xx. Damn inconsistent markdowns.

At least Xmas for all the cousins is taken care of now.

I was at one of the local Targets yesterday and saw one of the sales people taking off the clearance stickers on all the games (over 50), and repricing them to the normal, white price sticker with much higher prices. Is this sale over then?

I think they did this last year too. Certain games go to 19.99 or whatever when it gets closer to x-mas, even if they were previously on Clearance.

In Fredericksburg, Va Target right now and they have 4 copies of PS3 Dragon Age Ultimate Edition for $29.98. Sucks cause I just bought this for $35 at K Mart a few weeks ago. I never thought this would go on clearance so fast.

This isn't a sale, Target Clearance is never over  n00b. J/k

No, I think slowdive is right. There are several people who see certain games on clearance for a while, then are taken off clearance, and find them again in the clearance endcap (weird :???:). I honestly don't know why they do that.

I know is too early, but anybody can tell me if this is the week of the final drops (75% off)?

There's always one week which you find everything on 75% off..... but I'm not sure if this going to be tomorrow or next week (I hope not, because is going to be the holiday week which people get everything they see, no matter full retail price or 30% off.....

Ack. Went to 4 Targets today and NONE of them had the LBP GOTY/PS3 controller bundle anymore. :( Two said it wasn't even in their system anymore when I gave them the DPCI... I just ordered the PS3 on Amazon.com today.

I'm sad.

Haven't seen these in at least 5 months ....

It's not uncommon for clearance games to go back up to full price. I see it all the time. Sometimes clearance is used to get rid of stock that is being discontinued. Those go down in price and eventually disappear. But sometimes clearance is used to lower inventory levels. So a game will get marked down for a while, and when they've sold enough they put it back at full price.

Yeah I've seen like a total of 5 last week at 3 different Targets! I know. Crazy. And all of the sudden they're all gone. I should've pick one up even if I didn't have the PS3 yet (and wasn't even planning on buying one anytime soon.)

Target also sometimes restocks a game a few months after they've already been sold out via clearance. Although that seems to be if a game becomes a Platinum Hits/Greatest Hits title.
so no one can even know if tomorrow will be the final drops? it always happen in a week...
Not trying to be a douche, but... it is not uncommon for a question to remain unanswered over the span of 11 minutes. I understand that your question is very time-sensitive, but CAG is not stocked to the brim with miracle workers, sadly.

In regards to your question, there really isn't much to go by here. The selection of games marked down at Target stores nationwide tends to be consistent, but the timing, not so much. Even stores in the same general vicinity may not drop their prices at the same time. If your local store or stores have dropped prices in the last week or two, I'd guess you're out of luck this week. One other element that does seem consistent is what day of the week clearance game prices drop; it seems to happen at most Targets on Mondays. So make it out to one tomorrow if you can - that's the only way you'll find the answer you seek.

I just would like to make an opinion, but thanks anyway for your explanation which is reasonable....... the last year I went too late to the Christmas Gift, and saw Target Clearance Section completely empty, which is why I want to prevent and run shopping tomorrow..

I was waiting for weeks for a drops but games still in 30%-50% and sometimes I saw discounts in a week jumping from 30% to 75&.... I really hope Target would drop prices Today and star shopping, because we're going to see a lottttttt of people starting today and until 24.
I saw 2 Fable III LE for $55 and passed. I
Same. I did, however, pick up Oblivian GOTY for $7.48. I'm pretty happy with that. :D
Passed on a $9.98 :ps3: copy of Lost Planet 2 this morning.
ha! yeah not like it will be readily available for 2 cents more at Best Buy this Sunday..

Amazon bumped up the trade-in price for Dragon Age: Ultimate Edition to $30.50. For those of you with the vanilla copy, I thought I read earlier in this thread that you would be able to use this edition to get all the DLC and add-ons. Pay less than 2 bucks after tax on the Target purchase and $30.50 back from Amazon.

 I didn't even realize that. :360: too? That I might grab for $10.
I was mainly thinking of the reviews I've read. I only have a handful of friends who play on the :ps3: and it would seem that LP2 is a pain solo.
