Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Picked up the last few copies of Red Steel 2 w/ Wii Motion Plus and a copy of Assassin's Creed Bloodlines at the Target in Turnersville. They had quite a few Bayonetta's and a few other games.

Jealous of everyone's deals. All I've had for the past month is shovelware wii shit, or literally nothing.

Not Target clearance, but supposedly the one combo special edition of Twilight Eclipse for Blu-Ray and DVD(all on one disc) is ringing up $10 and there's an $8 off coupon out there on RedPlum.com, making it $2 plus tax.

It's the combo Blu-Ray/DVD version 'special edition'. It's a one disc combo version.

Thanks for the heads-up! I'm gonna hit a couple Targets on my way home from work to look for some clearance games. If I find this, I will pick it up for the wife.

People are reporting on SD that the price has gone back up in-store. I was able to get a online order in yesterday and it has switched to shipping soon this morning. Good luck to anyone that tries to get in on this today.

Deal is dead in store, scanned @29.99 in VA, I got the correct one.

I just tried using a .pdf printer to capture the coupon from RedPlum to be able to email myself it to print later, but it doesn't recognize the .pdf printer as supported.

It's so fuckin' lame too, since that's about the only deal I haven't even bothered to try grabbing(a printer) since I've been on CAG. I was going to go to the library to print up at least one if it caught the coupon via .pdf, but I guess that idea is done now.

It sucks too, since I downloaded/installed both the RedPlum AND .pdf printer programs to my computer for no good frickin' reason.
People are reporting on SD that the price has gone back up in-store. I was able to get a online order in yesterday and it has switched to shipping soon this morning. Good luck to anyone that tries to get in on this today.
Damn, that sucks. I'll try after work and report if I have any luck.

EDIT: Or maybe not if it's confirmed dead.

so is it too lame too or is it too suck-y?!? which is worse?? I wouldn't worry IATCG, at least you are good to go next time for these coupons. I have like 2 of these 'coupon printing' programs installed, they take up less than 2mb of space and don't do anything funky in the background..

Meh. Most coupons I'm able to just copy/paste to myself in an email without some stupid program being required on my computer just to get to view it.

Damn, nice haul. I'm not even sure all my local Targets combined have half those games.

They are probably bricks coupons. You can print 2 per computer if you use the back button on your browser window. You will not be able to save them as a pdf.

Well it only took a half dozen stores and months of waiting for price drops. The only game i really wanted that I didn't get was Elder Scrolls GOTY Ed. Saw it for $15 and passed it up. Should have just bought it then. Got the regular edition anyways so one day i might actually play it and then i will need the DLC.

Seen late last week:

:360: UFC Undisputed 2009 $7.48
:ps3: DJ Hero $12.48
:psp: Resistance Retribution $10.48
:psp: Motostorm Arctic Edge $10.48

Not much new at my Targets, everything holding stable price-wise (which is surprising, I thought the "late bloomer" clearance, like Naughty Bear and Bayonetta, would do a reprice down to 75% this week to catch up).

It's kind of creepy, the 2 Targets I check have nearly identical clearance racks (down to the items, price, and number in stock) for the first time in YEARS...

I did see:
:wii: Sid Meier’s Pirates - $13.98 -- didn't even know this came out for the Wii. Anyone have it?

Nope but I will soon if my target has it. Will keep me from breaking out my old xbox version. thanks for highlighting it.

I loved Sid Meier's Pirates back on the PC and the Sega Genesis, but I really didn't like the XBox version at all (can't even say why, something just didn't feel right about it). I'm a little wary of the Wii version because of that, but if I find it at $13.98 I may have to give it a try anyway.

It must have been $19.99 MSRP so you could get lucky and get it for $5. That's a no brainer!

Hm, looks like the MSRP did drop to $19.99 -- I remember seeing it at $39.99 before when it came out. I wonder which price Target is basing their clearance discount on . . .

And yeah, $5 would definitely be a no-brainer, but things don't tend to stick around long enough to drop that low here.

Sid Meier's (Wii) MSRP $29.99 updated PSP version and you can get it for $14 is great BUY :)

Nothing new at mine..though there was a returned Online Item tagged WoW Cataclysm Collector's Edition marked at 40.06. Still had plastic over it, so I don't think someone stole the code for the pet or anything out of it.
nice! where are you located?
I'm located in the North Chicagoland suburbs. I got the last copy at the Target where I bought it. Sorry man
13.98 = 30% drop.
Yeah. I actually saw some copies for $13.98 when I went after work, but between the fact that it was only at 30% and that the reviews on it were fairly mediocre at best, I decided to wait it out. If it sticks around to under $10, maybe I'll grab one.

(But yeah, even though $5 is the 75% mark on this one, I don't expect it to make it to that -- the stores around here only have a couple of copies each at most, and generally anything that goes below $10 for a current-gen console gets snapped up pretty quickly.)
Deal is dead in store, scanned @29.99 in VA, I got the correct one.
nope, it's not...
just bought 2 for $2 each...
might not work tomorrow though...
shelf tag $29.99...
My Targets seem to have gotten rid of the clearance end caps. Is this universal?
One store around me no longer has an end cap. I think its just because the clearance inventory is extremely low at this point.

Fingers-crossed this changes soon.
Found a Fable III CE, but it's still at $79. And has been for like a month now. :(
There must be another store in Houston that has it still in the system clearance priced at $19.xx. I'd have bought it and gone to another store for a return/rebuy via the "I'd like to change my payment type please" strategy. I just did it today on a couple Lego sets, saved an additional $15 on 1 and additional $25 on the other.

After Christmas is always a slow time for video game clearance. Mostly toys and other stuff hits clearance hard this time of year.

I actually asked about that and they told me that they couldn't because they said some thing about "Salvage" and it wouldn't go back onto the sales floor since it technically wasn't in their system. I guess it's kind of like how we send certain items that aren't opened to PRC or the service center for some reason.

Mine dropped clearance endcaps in favor of a locked glass case. I love it because they spine out the clearance titles which doesn't display the price.. not many are smart enough to look up the DPCI number and too lazy to ask for a price check

I'm sure this was a big error on my Target's part, but I found DC Universe Online for PC for $12.49 a few days ago. I didn't realize at the time that the PC version hadn't been released yet.

Other than that, I haven't seen anything interesting in a while.

Nothing near me, everything is still holding at the same prices as last week. Anyone able to report if the Assassins Creed Brotherhood stuff has hit 75% off anywhere yet?
here in Southern California, my Target's are pretty dry after the Christmas as usual, hope we can see a new drops soon.

only find a copy of

:360: Alpha Protocol $7.48
:360: Guitar Hero Van Halen $12.48
Which SoCal Target was this? Were there any more Alpha Protocol's left?

I passed on :ps3: Fallout 3 GOTY for $12.48, because I'm tired of post-apocalypse right now. Was that:

a) Bad idea, because it's a great game regardless of genre.
b) Bad idea, because I could make $5.30 via eBay, trade-in, or other swap
c) Good idea, because I might find it at $7, or I could always get it used later.

Actually, I don't think it can get marked down more at this store, because the scanner says they don't have any copies. Maybe I should go back, but I'm still playing ACII and I haven't started DA:O yet either.
