Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Lol me to actually I never had a problem with any system I ever owned until this gen
anyone find Dantes Inferno in Sacramento area?
Actually, the locator does show "Limited availability" at the Lincoln location.

Bit of a drive unless you live in the NE part of Sactown. Plus, limited availability is a crapshoot.

Naw, not really close to Lincoln. Thanks for searching, btw how did you do a search for it? i don't see option to check stores. I tried to check trgt.com and that site is down now

The OC Targets are always dry.. no good clearance games ever.

Stopped by today to take a look around, $4.98 for :360: Truth Or Lies. Passed. This was the location at The Crossroads for those who may be interested.

Picked up :dvd: Matilda for $5 though.. :D

I also saw $4.98 Truth or Consequences (I think that's the right name). Also passed.
They also had the Halo Legendary Edition (if that's the right name - the big box) for 50% off at $75.

Found SWFU2CE for $40. Had it in my cart for awhile but put it back. One DS Noah's Ark game for $5 I passed on, looked to childish even for my 6 year old. No more PS2 or Dante's Inferno (which I passed up klast week fo $10) or DAU.

Off topic - they didn't have in Move Heroes FYI. I know it doesn't seem to be anywhere so I looked.

At Fort Walton Beach, FL we found Truth or Lies for $4.98, and everything else was Wii garbage titles. They still have a PS2 also, didn't think to check the price.

Just picked up a Beatles rock band for $3.74 xbox at the spring TX store. Last one though. The checkout lady was shocked it was so cheap! Usually NEVER find any good deals at this store too.
The only reason I had a problem with my original xbox was because a lightning strike somehow borked the ethernet jack. Other than that, it was built Ford tough!
I went through two Xbox's and I'm on my fourth 360 (every one I've owned had something wrong out of the box with it too...for instance one had the USB port area cracked and my current one has a light out around the ring). I only had one PS1 but towards the end I had to flip it upside down to play. Had the PS2 drive stop reading DVDs (both games and movies). And, even my first Wii was defective and could not connect to the store. I take really good care of my systems too, always well vented and on a solid surface, etc, it would just appear I have terrible luck with consoles.

With my XBox's I had two drives fail on me. The second one I was able to fix and it worked for a while longer but became such a hassle that I bought a new one. It was built like a tank sure, but didn't perform like one for me.

I couldn't wait any longer and had to check for myself. Picked up thrillville for $3.74 and ghostbusters for $4.98. I am guessing those of you seeing $1.26 have stores that accidentally double clearanced 75% off the original 75% $4.98. At one store, ghostbusters was not with the other games, but on display at the registers with some other shovelware. The shelf tag said $14.99, but it rang $4.98.

:wii: Ghostbusters - $4.98 [207-26-0210]
Saw excite truck for $27.98

Is $25 a good price for Dragon Age ?? Would love to hear some opinions...

Alright was able to find one of the older 21.5" Acer monitors with the HDMI input. It was the display model. I asked a clerk if they sold display models and he said only if there were no more of the same model that was on clearance for $89.XX. I showed him there weren't and then I asked him if he could scan the monitor on display.I remember reading earlier in the thread that some displays of this model were earlier ones that had the HDMI input and this one had it. He scanned it and it said on clearance for $39.98. He said he would sell it to me but needed to double check that it was fine to sell. Then he came back and said it was fine to sell and reduced the price to 28.01:D Then I forgot they have to charge a Ewaste Recycle fee $8.00 and that bumped it up to 39.02 after taxes:cry: Still a good deal since they don't make that many of these monitors this size with HDMI input and I believe the original price on this monitor was between $170-200. A couple of questions if anyone knows what is target policy on returning display items in general or if it stops working within the return period.Would the manufacture warranty still cover it for a year?If it can't be returned, oh well took a chance for $40(come on lady luck). Also saw SWFUII Collectors Editon:ps3: for $39.98. It was in one of those security plastic squares not the spider wrap. Was about to buy it but I noticed that the bottom and top seal where either coming off or someone tried to open them. Anyone know if this has download content code that could have been stolen or does it come on the disk like the Sith edition. Would the code be inside the game case and if so then if the game case is still sealed I guess I would be fine right? Hope anyone can answer some of these questions.Sorry for the long post and thanks to everyone on CAG.

$25 for ultimate edition? It's like a full game+expansion+another expansion worth of DLC for $25....

Unless you hate rpgs it's worth more than that.

Hickory Hollow, TN findings, for anyone interested:

DJ Hero bundle for PS3 - $17.48
Halo Reach Legendary Edition - $104.98 (seriously?)
Excitebots: Trick Racing - $34.98 bundle, $27.98 standalone game
Force Unleashed II CE - $55.98 for Xbox 360, $39.98 for PS3
Lego Indiana Jones PC - $13.98
Guitar Hero Van Halen PS3 - $12.48
Tony Hawk Shred Xbox 360 - $29.98 standalone game
some little league baseball game for PS3 - $9.98

Only 1-3 copies of each remained. The only one that seems like a must-buy to me is the DJ Hero bundle, but I passed (more of a 360 guy).

I've played only a few. Never this series. Thanks for your input. I'd like to give it a try. Sounds like great value. Thanks again !
Naw, not really close to Lincoln. Thanks for searching, btw how did you do a search for it? i don't see option to check stores. I tried to check trgt.com and that site is down now
Use this -->

http://sites.target.com/site/en/spot/mobile_fiats.jsp?title=fiats&dpci=207-22-0496

Change the DCPI to whatever item you are looking for. Hit enter after editing the address bar with the new DCPI.

Then enter the zip or city/state.

Actual results may vary.

At the Evansville, IN east side store, I picked up a Super Street Fighter 4 PS3 for 14.98 and a Truth or Lies PS3 for 4.98.

They also had a few copies of the 39.99 PS3 Star Wars FU2 Collector's.

Lionville has one :ps3: DJ Hero bundle left at $17.xx.

Off topic,
I saw some home appliances for 75% off today. I picked up a Foreman grill for $10, there also was a bigger one for $20. They had basic coffee makers for $3.7x and such.

Bought Dragon Age Ultimate Edition at $25. Only 2 copies left at my target so doubted they would not get sold and go under that price. They had a bunch of wii games for 10 dollars. None which caught my attention.

I bought a PS2 for $69.98 today, but since I have 90 days to return it, I won't open it for a little while (I've got enough to play on my PS3 anyway :p); does anyone think that it'll drop in price one more time before being phased out? I noticed that the $69.98 sticker is the second (on top of the sticker with a "15" in the corner, which I assume corresponds to 15% off for its first clearance price), so if it drops again, I would assume it'd go to $54.98 or so, at 45% off. If this happens within the 90 days, I'll bring it back and ask for a price adjustment or return-and-rebuy.

Was able to find a copy of DJ Rapstar
iconps3.gif
for $12.48, where other stores were still 25-35. Box was beat up and still tagged at 25. The 360 version was still sitting at 25

Also found the ice cream maker that had been previously reported for 14.98 and it also had an old tag at 35.
Where in Houston did you find SSF4? I have not been able to find that one but you are right that Houston has been dry lately.
Found it at the Houston Central (Shearn) location. If I remember correctly it was clearanced on the inline game display, not on the endcap. I don't often go to that one (usually stick to the Meyerland and Galleria locations) but it wasn't a terrible trip. Relatively clean and quiet, I'm definitely going to check the clearance there when I can.

Thanks a lot. I will head over there tomorrow to hopefully pick up street fighter.

Target's clearance pricing format is usually 15%->30%->50%->75%->90%, with the last one usually reserved for seasonal/holiday items.

So the next drop will most likely be to 50% off and be $49.98.

However, clearance items are not eligible for price adjustments or returns/rebuys. If they have still have stock at the lower price you could buy one and return with the old receipt, but if you take just the receipt to customer service, or try to get customer service to return/rebuy it, you'll likely be denied.

Bought the 18.5" ACER Monitor for $83.98 (30% off). It doesn't work for my PC. It says "Input not supported." I don't know what the problem is. Maybe I need a better video card or something. The monitor works on my mom's PC though.

Anyone else buy this monitor?

The input for that 18.5" Acer monitor is only 1366x768. If your resolution was set to something higher than that on your old monitor, that would be the problem. Plug your old monitor back in, and reduce the resolution to a lower setting, then try the new monitor again. If you're switching from an older 4x3 screen to the new 16x9, you may have been running 1280x1024, which the new one cannot support, as it does not have that many vertical lines. Hope that helps!

FYI, for anyone looking, that 18.5" monitor DCPI number is 080-00-1049. I spotted it today for $59.98, 50% off. I passed on it because I instead scored the 21.5" display model (with 1080p resolution) for $79.98, less 10% display discount, in near-perfect condition. I think I've seen some other people say they got 20%-30% display model discounts before, but this guy insisted that it had been reduced to only 10% off. Whatever, for under 80 bucks, it was worth it to have a "spare" monitor. It'll serve as an HD display for my second xbox, and occasionally as a second monitor for a laptop, and may even go on a very occasional road-trip/tailgate with my xbox. Works for me!

Thanks for the help.I kept trying different resolutions over and over again and nothing was working at all. Finally I turned off my computer, plugged in the monitor, turned the computer back on, and the monitor was able to auto detect it somehow.

Also, do you happen to have the DCPI number for the 21.5" model?

Do all Targets have clearance items? I went to (Setauket, NY) but didn't see any clearance rack or anything like that. Are the games in the regular shelves just marked down when you bring it up to the counter? Any tips to find something?

Glad it worked out for you.

I think that DCPI number for the 21.5" is near the bottom of the OP on the first page. If memory serves, I believe it is 080-00-1049.

The clearance games at the Setauket store have been lacking for months now. They are typically stashed on an endcap along the back wall closer to toys. There is usually a pile of clearance stationary and random junk that you have to pick through and then you will only discover copies of Noah's Ark for the DS.

I noticed alot of random stuff in the electronics department on clearance this past week, and most of it was just starting the clearance cycle. Off the top of my head...1TB HP external hard drive, Duracell AA and AAA rechargable batteries with charger, HDMI and component cables, some outlet strips, webcams, microsoft mouse, laptop cases, etc.. Worth looking at while you checkout the clearance games.

And for anybody that bought Truth or Lies, it trades into Gamestop for $1. Thought I might play it this weekend with the family and trade it in before I saw the TIV...now I might just return it.

Saw this one today:

:ps3:Truth or Lies: $4.98

Saw DJ Hero for $17.xx. Couldn't buy it. Figured I'd leave it for someone who actually wanted it. Odd though since I was there Sunday and it was $44.xx. Guess they just skipped the halfway point.

Also to the OP, looks like you have :360: Truth or Lies listed twice (non-bundle) for $9.98 and $4.98

Picked it up last time it was this price. Fun game once you get used to the controls.

Not going to miss it this time. Thanks for the heads up!

Found Def Jam Rapstar for PS3 and 360 for $12.48 each. (1 ps3 left I took the last 360)

And Star Wars the Force Unleashed 2 CE for 360 $39.xx (left it)

This was at the Target in North Bergen, NJ

He's probably talking about a coupon that was in McD Happy Meals last year. They're not available anymore.

Still a good deal for 15
