Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Picked up SW:FU2 CE for $20 today. I'm shocked it made it through the 50% cycle.
Heavy Rain $14.98
That is a great find, well done.
Ill have a detailed store to store post at the end of my 5 store indy trek, but will post anything significant if I see it:

I picked up Rockband 3 software PS3 for 19.99 @ West 38th, looks like a price drop but not clearance. Saw MLB 2K10 for PSP 4.98. Nothing else of note.
I was at two Targets today and one here had RB3 marked down to 19.99 as well for PS3. I checked to make sure it wasn't a mis-tag and it wasn't. The other store still had it tagged 49.99 I believe.

Vierra 50" 3D plasma - $986.97 (was $2099.95)

DCPI: 008 09 1050

Fredericksburg, VA near Geico offices.

I think they had two of them.

Called up my local Target.. I missed the 37.49 Halo Reach by 30 minutes.

The other Target in my area (Southside) didn't clearance it out yet.. damn.

I bought a CE of Gran Turismo 5 a couple weeks ago for $69.99 and decided after a few weeks that I just can't justify paying that much on a video game. I returned the game yesterday, and because I work in a building to connected to Target, I decided to go back during lunch to see if anyone snagged it up in 1 days time. To my amazement it was just sitting on the shelf and they dropped the price to $24.98, which I immediately repurchased.
Just bought Reach Legendary for $37.xx.

Last one. Some guy was starting at it contemplating, but I didn't have to think about it so I picked it up and walked straight to the register.
lol. you probably saved him money or he's kicking himself right now for not buying it.

One copy of SWFU II (360) for $20 at the Champaign, IL Target. I picked up the other one. Also had a couple of copies of 2010 FIFA World Cup: South Africa for $9.99.

Good day for me. Got the last :360:SWFUII for $19.98 and :wii:Cooking Mama: Cook Off for $4.98 for my girlfriend. Nearly bought :ps3:Iron Man 2, but I passed.
So are the markdowns done automatically or do they have to be "activated" by a store employee?
I haven't figured this one out yet either. Any current or former Target employees willing to clarify?
...he was explaining someone picked them both up 10 minutes after I called and asked if they had any left...
First rule of clearance: Never call.

I was on the Price Change Team 11 years ago.
The exact procedure can vary per store but normally Target clearance has to be manually scanned or entered (LRTs) to get the new price to activate.
The new prices are sent to the store via the Central HQ.
Cue someone telling me I'm wrong in 3, 2,...

Nothing but Wii and DS games at my Target.
No more Halo Reach CE or PS2+Toy Story 3 bundles.
My Target put out over 50 copies of Animal Crossing Wii for $24.98.
Same.

Wonder where they got so many copies.
Before today they never carried the game, no sticker on the display case for it either.

I think clearance mark downs are automatically once the item is put on clearance. I've seen items go down by using the price scanner but I never found those items after they went on clearance. From my experience Black Ops Prestige edition was 30% in the system and the store had no stock. I went to that same store 2 weeks later and then it was 50% off according to the instore price checker but the store still didn't have any in stock.

So far this has happened with three items.

Not sure if this has been reported or not but the Target on String Town Road in Grove City, Ohio has a bunch of games on clearance including but not limited to Tony Hawk Shred, Force Unleashed 1 collectors edition, Rock Band Beatles, Guitar Hero Van Halen and a bunch of random Wii titles.

Picked up a copy of Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier for 2.54. About four copies left. Southwest Parkway in College Station.

I checked the Target nearest me today. As expected no drop on the PS2's(still $69.98) and I was told by the one employee that that's as low as they're going to drop.

fuckin' lame. When they clearanced the Gamecube out a year or two ago they had STACKS of the frickin' things n couldn't get rid of them, even at $15, but I guess since the PS2 is still pretty popular they figure they can keep it at 30% off forever.:bomb:

Oh well. I have the fully BC PS3 I bought last week to use to play PS2 games on, so I'm set anyway. I just figured I'd grab a PS2 to play the small percentage of games that may act up on a full BC PS3 on there.

Only other drops I really noticed was the PS3 version of Force Unleashed II CE went to $40 now and Def Jam Rapstar or whatever went to $12.48.

I found a :360:Halo Reach Legendary for $37.xx too :whee: and :360:2010 FIFA World Cup
(DPCI: 207-22-0471)
for $9.98 :D Great day for Target Clearance.

I went straight to where the big legendary box was at and it still had the $104.xx tag. I went to a price scanner and punched in the DPCI for Reach and saw the $37.xx price

I grabbed it and went to pay. The lady who was checking me out looked disappointed that I was buying it. I know I shouldn't feel bad but I did; maybe she wanted to gift it or maybe she was sad because she missed out on reselling it :whistle2:k Anyway, I felt better when I got home :D

I also made sure it wasn't missing anything. I went to the customer service counter and opened it there before leaving. All was fine :)
Non-game wise but still electronics, got a decent deal on a bluray player today. It's a Philips BDP5110/F7 and it was $75. Haven't found many reviews on it at all, but most are either positive or just nitpick...only real negatives I've seen are that it's difficult to set up Netflix, but at least it has that and VTuner. Either way needed something cheap for the playroom and this was perfect.
Yeah, I bought one during spring break and it's a pretty decent blu-ray player. I tested the player out and noticed that the movies loaded incredibly slow. Since I didn't RTFM, I missed the part where it recommends you use an SD card for faster movie load times #-oIt makes a huge difference.

Regarding the Netflix issue, I'm currently not a subscriber to Netflix so I wouldn't know the exact issue. It comes with a free 1-month trial but that voucher expired 12/3/2010 (that's booty).

Managed to pick up the Legendary edition of Halo: Reach today for a friend of mine for the $37.xx price. I was amazed as I wasn't aware it had dropped so low. There was still one copy left. This was at the Dadeland Station in Miami, Florida.

I can't believe it's still here. The MVC3 CE that I found at Irvine Spectrum Target last week still remains on the shelf. $49.01, restocked, but unopened. All wrapping intact. I already have MVC3, and Shuma-Gorath is gross. I passed. Isn't somebody going to buy this thing? And before the "pics or it didn't happen" crowd shows up,
God damn it! can't attach a pic! Look here http://www.flickr.com/photos/81256040@N00/5589476349/ It is away from the Wii shovelware, on a higher shelf one aisle over, underneath the headphones. Like someone was hiding it, but forgot their tape.

On my second stop during lunch:
I found that Little League World Cup 2010(?) game for :ps3: for $5.04.
Snagged one of those Lexmark printers that someone else mentioned for $22.xx
Picked up x 2 of some GE hands-free headsets (2.5mm works with the 360 controller) for $3.74 a piece.

Saw another x 2 Halos for $37.xx at this store, one :360: SW: TFU 2 CE for $20.
Nothing new at this store either.

Lucky. Gamecube never dropped around here. Target was long sold out, and my local TRU just wouldn't drop them.

Bookworm (DS) $4.98

The Lexmark is $44.98 at my store (went to 50% off today) hopefully next Monday it will be $22.48.

Saw this wireless lexmark thing and it said no price on it then I went to scan it and it had no value. Is it great or something?

So then how do they activate the prices for all the stuff they can't find?

Saw today that my target had Star wars force unleashed 2 (collector's edition) for $19.98. Also had the ps2 toy story bundle for $49.98. All the regular ps2 consoles were marked down to $49.98 as well.

Whooohooo! Got the last Halo Reach in Dover, DE for $38! They also had two SWFU II CE's left for the 360 at 19.xx.

They had TONS of other stuff around the store too, lots of nice deals. Too bad I don't have a ton of cash to blow because I easily could've spent a few hundred bucks today.
So then how do they activate the prices for all the stuff they can't find?
By hand.
For example, if there's one copy of Barbie's Kinectinimal Hunting Party but it can't be found, it will still show up in the store inventory. There's an easy way to get to all the "one offs" on the LRTs but I don't remember it. If you ever see someone with an LRT and you heard a bunch of beeping while their are just standing there, they are more than likely activating all the one off prices.
So then how do they activate the prices for all the stuff they can't find?
from what i understand, they don't. Which is why when people hide the last copy, they're just fooling themselves.

I saw DS Lites on clearance today. Only 15% though.

At my store, I was there when the clearance person was doing the games, and they had to manually scan a game to mark it down to 75% for me. I know because I scanned it at the 50% literally 1 minute before. If somehow she skipped it in the clearance bin that day, I don't think it would have dropped.

The PS3 dropped to $49.98 at my target.. I picked up the last one. But that may give hope to others who don't think they'll hit any lower. FWIW my target is pretty slow at lowering clearance prices.

Picked up SW2 LE $19.98. I wonder it worth it or not? End up picked up Dragon Ages Ultimate Collection (PS3/360) $12.98 each. Also saw Spider Man: SD (wii) $9.98 not sure it worth it or not?

PS3 for $49.98? Epic deal ;), assuming you meant PS2 though lol.

Yep, same here-- I've had stuff scan at the scanners at one price, and then I find a clearance employee, ask them to scan, and the price drops in the system.

Of course today I ran into another of the Grumpy Crew (the clearance people who always seem absolutely miserable at my local Target). She wasn't someone I recognized although they all always seem to be pissed off; I asked her if she could scan a couple games (that I was holding) since they hadn't gotten to the endcap and she just said "No. I have to scan all the aisles before I do the endcap." (in an annoyed voice before she just walked away) Never had anyone flat out refuse to check a price for me before... :/

Local Target put a TON of Wii stuff out though; about 50 copies of Animal Crossing, and lots of shovelware. A couple decent games (Worms, Drawn to Life, Acme Arsenal) all at 50%, not sure if they'll immediately drop to 75% this week or not. (it seems like with my Target, when stuff starts at 50% off there's a good chance it goes straight to 75% the next week, it's very odd-- whereas stuff that starts at 15/30% takes FOREVER to start dropping)

I'll check again when I go back in the morning to try my luck with Tron...

I am sad to say, my local target is now being hit by others. I used to have no problem picking up clearance items, now other people are picking them up. :(

i did see assassins creed 1 for 10 bucks and assassins creed 2 for 15 (both systems).

No love on games, but I scored a Z-Line Stealth TV stand for $48. It was $189.99, and at one of the stores I went to it was $132.98. However, at the second store it was $48.

Got me TFU2 CE PS3 for 19.98. Saw some iron man 2 ps3 for 9.98 but I already have it. Would be nice to have DAOUE for 12.48, but some clearance is better than none.

Also this is not a clearance deal but Rock Band 3 scanned at 19.99 even though the tag said 49.99 so I'm assuming this is a universal drop?

Reach Legendaries still $104.98 by me. Wanted it for the flaming head, but I just unlocked Inclement Weather, so it's not really a priority get I guess. I am watching however.

I got Def Jam Rapstar for $12.48, and saw TFU2 CE for $19.98 but they only had the Xbox 360 version.

I also saw:
NHL 2K11 (Wii) - $14.98
Spectrobes (Wii) - $4.98

El Hoardo struck 6 Target's near me and scooped up all the $37 Halo's and $12.5 Dragon Age Ultimates. 2 stores had atleast 1 copy of halo reach at 2pm. You missed one copy at one store so F U hoardo. Btw this was in Valley Stream, NY.
omg too many acrnonmys in this thread lmao. I cant figure out what TFU2 CE is lol!! wtf does it stand for?
