Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Cool story bro!

AS for other replies i call all the time and get deals, the rule can suck it.
Why not? my life doesn't revolve around having to get every single deal, they either have it or they don't.

Where i live isn't exactly a gaming hotspot, you could find wii's fully stocked day after launch here, im not exactly worried about the 46 year old who is checking for me.

the rule is bullshit.
Are we seriously having a pissing match over calling versus not calling? Upsetting.

Found the Force Unleashed II CE for 360 at the magical $19.98 price point tonight. Sadly, the top right corner in the back has a piece cracked almost completely off. Picked it up anyway, but I'm hoping to find it elsewhere and return what I have, or sell it off to someone less picky.

Someday when im at the store and DO find a deal im going to call from inside of the store and ask if it is in stock while looking at the guy who answers the phone. Lol might even record his reaction when he sees the LOW price and whether or not decides to tell me the truth. We would never know if its worth calling. But well if you do call you may be ruining it for someone else.

Haha, that would actually be interesting to see. You could make a tv show out of it.

Use the online DCPI inventory tracker to see which stores might have what you are looking for. Then call the store and press 0 to get the operator. Tell them you have the DCPI # for an item and ask if they could give you the price for the item. 9 times outta 10 they'll check for you, using a PDA or register, without calling back to the electronics department. They can also tell you how many they should have according to the system, but they could want to call the department to verify the count on-hand to which you say "no thanks" or simply hang up when they transfer your call.

You get your info, nobody tips off the guys in the electronics department. Of course you can still get screwed by bad inventory counts, but I've never had it happen to me yet.

Can anyone confirm if Borderlands GOTY is part of the clearance? I asked the person that worked there but he was too rude to tell me more about it. The only thing he mentioned was that it was in the process of being a clearance item...

I never saw it on clearance and it's still 39.99 here. Since it's in the OP from November, I'm guessing it's one of the YMMV drops that others reported but I never found. Much like others seeing Heavy Rain at $14.98 and I've yet to find it on clearance.

Brilliant. That would be the top rated show on CAG!

Found a Halo LE for $38 at one of my local stores. Not too much into the Halo franchise but I can't say no for a sweet collectors edition at that price.

The gf on the other hand is not too thrilled about the giant box it comes in.
Any other DFW Targets have SWFU2 CE? Irving and Euless have next to nothing in terms of clearance.
I think that's the case for a lot of the Targets in the area. The ones by me typically don't have much of anything.

My wife felt the same way but she loves the statue though

THe Irving Target used to be a gold mine. It's not a Super Target and the clearance was on the back side of an end cap near stationary. I've not seen anything since Christmas though except for a DS Pet Stories 2 yesterday.

Yeah the "toy dolls" didn't really help the cause....

Where do I put all this crap?!

-Halo Reach statue
-Mario club statue
-Black Ops RC car

I need some good shelves or something I guess for my game room.

If you do that make sure to post the results here. I'm absolutely convinced that the employees hide stuff at my store, not sure if they do so when people call or if they just keep an eye on stuff themselves. However, EVERY TIME there is a major price drop coming on a bigger ticket item (SFU II CE, Halo Reach, Black Ops, etc), the item conveniently disappears a few days before. Now there is no way that somebody ALWAYS buys the game at the higher price just before it drops....

toy dolls? it's a statue w/ figurines.

You should show her what toy dolls really are on chuplayer's blog. Then she'll kiss your ass for not being a freak.

HAHAHA - Confoosious made me LOL. You know it's a good day. Yeah - Chuplayer's stuff is way past freaky. It's like Child's Play "Chucky" kind of scary.
Of course, I think the mobile stock locator is off, since it's still showing limited availability and not OUT OF STOCK for my area. I only saw ONE last night and I bought it.
Maybe there was another one taped under a counter?

For anyone in the Las Vegas area interested, there's 3 Mario DSi XL bundles ($125.48 iirc) left in the clearance section of the Target Greatland on S Grand Canyon Dr and W Flamingo Rd. Was tempted to pick one up but decided to tone down my impulse buy tendencies since I wasn't looking to buy a DS in the first place.

For those in the new york area, there was nothing last night at the Target in Westbury, NY across from the theatre. I asked an employee and he pointed me to a clearance rack with no games on it. Just a heads up.
Found PS2 slim for $50 and SWFUIICE PS3 for $20 last night. Yes, I also saw one at my local Target for $50 on Saturday. It wasn't in the clearance section though, it was locked behind glass with the other game systems.

Check for PS2s in the glass cases that store the PS3s under the PS3 demo unit.

PS2s may not be marked as being on clearance, but after talking with store associates at 2 different locations, they know that Corp is trying to clear them out as they no longer sell and they are no longer stocking PS2 games. If they are not in that cabinet, they no longer have any--if they are, ask the associate for a price check.

At $50, these make excellent high quality DVD players.

Borderlands GOTY is part of the Gamestop Power Saver sale that's going on till April 24th and Best Buy supposedly has it for $19.99 this week.

So if you can't find it at Target, try either of those stores.:D

Just got Rock Band 3 with Keyboard bundle clearanced for $64.98. Can't wait to try it out!

Ps. It has the normal clearance sticker on it, while the PS3 and Wii versions were still $130.

There is no PS3 keyboard/game bundle. They didn't make one due to some undisclosed legal/contractual obligation. Only bundles were for 360 and Wii.

I can confirm I just got a PS2 Slim for $50 today. Like some others have mentioned, it was in the glass case rather than in the clearance endcap.

I would have missed it except I happened to notice the red sticker as I walked by the case.

You must be trolling.

Ha, lol. My bad. I know that the Wii Keyboard bundle was $129.99. I thought I saw a PS3 bundle, but since I don't have a PS3 I wasn't too concerned

Star Wars The Force Unleashed II special/collector's/whatever edition at Target in Springfield, Pennsylvania on Baltimore Pike intersecting Woodland Avenue. One left. XBOX 360 version.

Make that 7 Targets, 0 Halo Legendary Editions. I swear I saw some before when I was scouting for the Fable 3 CE deal when it dropped to $19.99; guess they all got scooped up. I see one in stock about 45 miles from here but the gas it would take to make that round trip negates any savings. Oh well, I did score a SW:TFU2 CE for $20.

Most stores I went to only had stacks of crappy Wii games on clearance and a few DS titles. Didn't see anything interesting at all.

This was for D/FW area around Dallas.

6 Targets all cleaned out. There were 3 PS2s per location on Sunday, but they were only 15% off (now they are gone). 5 Halo LE gone, 9 SWFU2 gone (the one I got is opened/damaged). I really need to take my territory back. I think I am going to start buying everything.

Same around me, other than the dragon age and halos that went fast, nothing good seems to be on the horizon. Other than the heavy rain that someone reported, but not in my area, I think there might be a clearance glut for a while. Good because I need a break, and the security people are probably sick of seeing me there so often. :)

not a videogame deal, but my wife came back with 3 bottle of chardonnay that was normally $15 and she got them for a little under $4 a piece. I dont know how exactly they got that price but they did.

I saw two copies of that, didn't even look at the price. Is it any good?

Picked up 2 stashed copies of Super Street Fighter IV for PS3 at Champaign, IL target for 7.48 a piece. I was thinking of leaving one but seeing it stashed, I bought both just to piss off the person who stashed it.

You neglected to mention that the box was beat to hell. That's why I left it on Tuesday.

Wow, lucky. My store hasn't had any copies. I look every time though.
