Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
Picked up 2 stashed copies of Super Street Fighter IV for PS3 at Champaign, IL target for 7.48 a piece. I was thinking of leaving one but seeing it stashed, I bought both just to piss off the person who stashed it.
That typically tends to happen there. Did you see anything else interesting?

I found a copy of Star Wars Force Unleashed II LE for $19.99...I passed on it. Im not a Star Wars fan at all...if I still see it for $9.98 i will bite. Also saw a $3x.xx halo reach legendary..but I own the game already and im not interested in the extras. for another half off I may be though.
not a videogame deal, but my wife came back with 3 bottle of chardonnay that was normally $15 and she got them for a little under $4 a piece. I dont know how exactly they got that price but they did.
:applause: I like that haul.

I picked up the SW:FU LE myself. $19.99 was already 75% off so you won't find it for $9.99 at Target.
For $12 it'll be a good party game. There are more classics than I expected. Here's a list: http://www.1up.com/news/full-def-jam-rapstar-tracklist

Biggest problem is most of the songs are heavily censored, but oh well. Worth it if you like hip hop and karaoke.
The censoring isn't that bad. It gives you a chance to breathe on some of those songs but if you're a hip-hop fan, it's a pretty good selection of songs. A lot of stuff I grew up listening to and I'm more than satisfied with the $13 I spent on it.

I'm incredibly late with this, but I went to the local Target earlier today/yesterday and saw:

:wii: Mario Super Sluggers - $24.98
:360: 60 GB Hard Drive - $69.98
:360: Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition - $12.48
:pc: Assassin's Creed 2 - $14.98
:pc: LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga - $9.98
:wii: NHL 2K11 - $14.98

I would've picked up DAO, but I didn't have the cash on me and I'm trying to watch my money situation since I don't have a job and my bank account's pretty low at the moment. :(

Bunch of Wii shovelware and about 3 copies of 2010 FIFA south africa world cup for 360 for 9.98. Although, there was 3 copies of Tatsunoko vs Capcom for Wii but it was $29.99, so I'm guessing it's not on clearance.
Picked up 2 stashed copies of Super Street Fighter IV for PS3 at Champaign, IL target for 7.48 a piece. I was thinking of leaving one but seeing it stashed, I bought both just to piss off the person who stashed it.
what do you mean stashed? You mean someone hid them in some other department?

Im always envious of you guys, my target always just has wii shovelware shit, like some people have mentioned. When it does have a decent game its always high in price. Never the actual clearance prices

like karekano said, i saw Tatsunoko vs capcom but itw as like 30 bucks, which is regular price pretty much

Jeez, someone hoarded the 4+ copies of Excite Truck for Wii (No idea why, isnt it pretty old?).

Saw someones hidden copy of SWTFU2 (Was hidden behind some Rock Band guitars XD, moved it behind some other stuff for the lulz of making them worry).

Also ended up buying one of those super DSi bundle packs (Called Deluxe 20-in-1, even came with a nice carrying case), for about 6.25. Along with a copy of Samurai Warriors 3.

You guys are lucky to find such awesome stuff

Checked Evansville, IN East Side:
8x Samurai Warriors 3 - 7.48
2x Assassins Creed 2 PC - 7.48
6x Bakugan (Sequel) DS - 6.48

North side Target still shows copies of Gran Turismo 5 LE, but I wont be going there til next week.

I really wish I could've scored a DAOU, but ours disappeared before they ever went on clearance.

Yup, hidden.

Is their anyway to coerce my Target into clearancing some of the junk games that have been reported on clearance in this thread?

I counted 12 Naughty Bear games, all at $49.99. Along with SSFIV at $29.99 and many other games at full MSRP that have hit rock bottom at other stores. Is it possible that these will miss the drops all together because they haven't even started?

The clearance end caps at my target are full of games that have hit some type of clearance at other stores yet they all ring up at full price (yes I've checked).

As they say YMMV. Drops are extremely random. You can have 2 target's side by side and one will drop all the games and the other won't. If you can find a different target in your area that has had all these games on clearance in the past you can buy, return, then come back and re-buy at the clearance price at that Target. You won't get anywhere with coercing anyone regarding clearance drops.

Yep - Got a DA:UE months back at 75% off when one local store clearanced them. They stayed full price in others. This time, they hit clearance at another store and were gone at 50% off... You just never know when it's going to catch up to your store.

Where were they stashed? That's the only Target near me and it be nice to know where all the good deals have been stashed away.

I wonder if that samurai warriors is at 85% at your store, or if the msrp was reset to $29.99. I have never seen videogames lower than 75% off at my stores.

the website for locating clearance items accurate???
I wanted to pick up need for speed shift which it said was available but wasn't there
Also that website said defjam rapstar was OOS but I found it at same target
weird

They were behind the bin where the external hard drives were at.

It usually is, but there can be exceptions, particularly with "limited availability" items. The store inventory can be off by one and not show OOS, or there might be lag between when someone returns it and it hits the floor again if ever, or the clerks might be stashing it under the counter. Or of course some customer may have taped it under a shelf. Good luck finding it in that case.

I noticed it recently with dragon age. A few stores that I knew had it a day before, still showed limited availability for a few days, but I never saw stock. Otherwise the tracker has been spot on for me.

I've found netbooks stashed up under LCD monitors before, games stashed behind tortilla chips in the food section and every variation in between.

If at all possible I bring the item back to electronics and/or bring it to the attention of an employee in electronics.

The one group of electronics employees shared a story with me the one time of someone having hid an area rug behind a shelf worth of chips in the food section. Yes. A BIG area rug was stashed behind potato chips by someone. Funnier still was it wasn't even going clearance yet, so you have to wonder what the fuck was going through that person's head to try and stash such a large item.

As for Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, if you don't mind a used copy then it's been $14.99 at Blockbuster for a while now. That's assuming you have any Blockbuster stores left in your area though.:whistle2:#

Thought I hit the jackpot today when I saw 2 Toy Story PS3 bundles on the cheap endcap. Neither were tagged, so I scanned them, and unfortunately still 349.99. I found the placement of them odd, as they were on the bottom shelf by themselves, and were spider-wrapped, unlike the other PS3s that are locked in a cabinet below a demo unit. Maybe a future drop? I'll keep an eye on them just in case.

My store has had them under the clearance section for a couple months now, since christmas time. I'm guessing they are just not getting more so they put them there.

The Target in Fairfax, VA at the Fair Lakes shopping center had a copy of Halo: Legendary edition. It was marked down to $38 dollars. The box looked a little torn as well.

The price that was showing was $104, but on the other side there was the price for $38. Its like someone may have turned it around to fend off other CAGs.

not a damn thing, well bunch of wii stuff, at the target in Alexandria, VA just off of Jeff Davis. I have only ever seen 1 SWTFU CE, and it was gone the next day, never even saw the halo legendary, except on release day

[207-24-0329] :ps3: Heavy Rain $14.98 (non-GH, no move logo)

Was last one there, wasn't going to wait for 75% off, rarely see this game under $20

Also saw:
:ps3: Assassin's Creed $9.98
:ps3: Assassin's Creed II $14.98
:pc: Assassin's Creed II $14.98
:wii: Mario Sluggers $24.98

Damn, if I had known this I would have stopped by the northpark one when I left Ivy Tech this afternoon!

grabbed final copy of STFU2CE at Chili,NY target. So happy it somehow lasted, though Heavy Rain, GOW Collection, and a few other ps3 games on the clearance list above magically sold out the last few copies of each when they weren't touched for months so i'm assuming they finally went down here and were wiped out monday, luckily of the 4 STFU's 1 made it til today for me.

I noticed SWFUII CE has a TiV at Amazon for $25, might be a nice flip if somebody can find it under $15. The PS3 version's TiV is 23.75.
I cant find the dpci number for force Unleashed CE Xbox 360. Can anyone be kind enough to relist it
If only there was some sort of "OP" that was painstakingly maintained by a volunteer that told you how to check this for yourself? If only you gave enough of a shit to actually put in the minimal effort required to actually do so. If only this wasn't the 9999th time someone has had to say "check the OP" in this thread or one of the other massive ones on this board.

If only...

a fucking rug? LOL ok thats pretty funny

Ya i never buy used games unless its something you cant really find new anymore. I espeically would never buy a used rental game, tnx anyway though

I picked up an "out of system" copy of Army of Two: The 40th Day PSP for $7.48 along with a DSi Slim Hardshell case and a couple of DSi chargers for $3.74 each. I also found a beat-up SWFU II CE 360 for $19.98. I already beat the game so I passed on it.

If anyone is interested, the SWFU II CE was at the Target in Inglewood, CA (as of 2pm on Thursday).
if there was one thing i could do without, it's all the stashing that goes on at target.
I know it is really frustrating. Either buy it or wait. I have found a bunch of games that were either just put on clearance or were not clearanced at all hidden behind cereal and mostly behind kitchen appliances since I guess they don't get moved very often
