Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

No problem bud...OP (original post/original poster) check the DPCI of the game in the OP then paste it over the DPCI in the
Link. Enter your zip and it should give you availability in your area. Not 100% accurate but a good tool none the less.

We were all new at one point. It's the numbering system Target uses for all their items (example 207 22 2044). In the original post most games have the 9 digit number listed. These numbers are listed on the clearance sticker on the game. Copy the number from the game on the list and paste it over the number at the end of my link. Oh and welcome to CAG

NY here and saw it for full price. However, this was the red greatest hits version. If they have different skus then that might be the issue.
Just got Rock Band 3 with Keyboard bundle clearanced for $64.98. Can't wait to try it out!

Ps. It has the normal clearance sticker on it, while the PS3 and Wii versions were still $130.
Has anyone else seen this?
I would think with the price of the game dropping by $40 the bundle would drop too.
Anyone have the DPCI for the
iconxbox360.gif
bundle?

Ok time for a newbie-ish question.

My Target has these, but they are in the case. I want to remain under the radar, because they are still marked at full price.

Are they full price at other Targets? Otherwise I will go again tomorrow and hunt an employee down to scan it.

I just hate doing this because it alerts the employee and I get lip from the employee. Like you don't believe the tag.

Went to one of my targets that apparently had the old Heavy Rain game(non-GH) and it showed in stock but when i went there i couldn't find any on clearance. I can't find many games ever since they had their new layout at the electronics.. Where are people finding heavy rain at in clearance?

You could punch the DPCI code into a price scanner, if your Target has scanners with keypads.

If you go to your store and punch the DCPI into the store scanner, it'll give you the in system price. 207-01-0081

I'm sure they're full price at other Targets still. Target clearance is EXTREMELY YMMV. I only have 2 stores within 100 miles that even have any on the stock checker, though, so this could be national... But I doubt it.

This. Sorry. I wasn't able to comment in time.

I didn't see any other Mario Kart DSi bundles at the other Targets I went to, so it is definitely YMMV.

Print the barcode from this Link and scan it. I think that's the right one.

Mine has been dry for a while, just a few games, but I did get Icarly (DS) for my daughter, 4.98 and some 12 game DS case holders for 1.98.
In Upland, CA right now on my iPhone. There are two Nintendo DSi XL Mario Kart bundles sitting at $125.98.

I went and took a detour on my way to Victoria Gardens and picked one up. They have more than two though, they had the two in the glass case but the one I bought came out of a box they had in the front. The kid was being a douche and said he couldn't disclose how many they had in stock. So I'm guessing they have more. There was some Arab guy checking out after me that bought 3 of them O_O, I would have said it was InCrEiDiPiNoY but I know he's not Arab.

$137 out the door not bad and beats trying to attempt to buy one on AWD.

I did find a new drop not on the list, it was Create for ps3 for $19.98 50% off. I didn't get the dpci because CA is usually behind on the drops but I guess this one wasn't on the list.

Might I suggest reading the CAG FAQ that deals with the acronyms we commonly use here? Moreover, if you're tempted to ask a question that may have already been answered in prior posts or the OP of a thread, please try your hardest to skim back through a couple pages worth of posts or re-read the OP FIRST to find the answer. Thanks a lot. Here's the link to the FAQ on acronyms.

Welcome to CAG either way.

"We are not just cheap, but lazy too!"

Funny shtuff, hadn't seen that before.

*sigh* i hate my Target. NEver anything good. There was some jak and daxter's for 10 bucks that i didn't want to get till i looked at reviews. It did pretty good but when I went back it was gone =(

By the way @ the DSI XL mario bundles.. is this universal? THere are several at my Target butt theyre in the regular wii case without any kinda price tag on them or anything, im pretty sure they're full price. How can i check if theyere 125 without raising red flags and having them all disapear? Can an employee scan them or do i have to find one of these clearance clerks?

Find the DPCI# from the OP(and I think earlier on this page;)) and if you have the newer scanners at your Target with the number pad on it enter that number into the scanner and press enter.

It'll show the current price.
hmm.. i guess i can try that, dont know if they have that or not. do i enter it all in a row?

i.e.
207 01 0081

all together as 207010081?
no spaces are required, just start typing the number on the pad and hit enter after the last number

You can also print the barcode of any game your looking for and scan them. If their are multiple games you're looking for it's the best bet to just walk into target with your slice of paper and scan the games that way.
Spotted a 60GB Xbox 360 HDD for $69.98 (MSRP $99.99) Be on the lookout for those price drops.
If it started at $100, the cheapest it will get is $25, which is almost not a deal considering what legit 250GB'ers have been found for recently.

I found SW TFU II CE for $20, but I left it in my car over night and someone decided to break into my car and take it along with some clearance t-shirts and my pepsi. So pissed off. Thought about checking the local GS to see if someone had traded in a new copy, but I figured that would be a long shot.

if i can get it for $30, i'll take it over my 20gb that has 1gb free left....

Found SW TFU2 CE for $20 at little rock, AR target on university. Was last one. They had tons of ps2 syphon filter copies (didn't catch price).

Thanks Metroidrage for point out this drop in the area. This is a tough one to find!

Also thanks Skiizim for pointing out they had more in stock than 2.

I had the best customer service at Target this morning. I decided to hit up this store when it opened to see if I could score one for this price. I looked at the case there was none to be found. I asked the guy working and he goes to check in the back. Of course he doesn't come back empty handed. He tells me it shows IN STOCK but can't locate them. Well he tells me to leave my name and phone number and he will call me if he can find them. Not even 5 minutes after leaving my phone rings and they were found. I wasn't expecting a call back from the worker so I was really surprised. I called to the store back to tell the manager about the great customer service.

He asked how many I wanted to buy so I guess they still have a few left.

I asked where he found them at and it was classic: They were hidden in the back room behind the TV's. I guess an employee wanted to hide them but luckily I got one.

Aha! Confirmation that Target employees hide stuff also! :D

 I always had a sneaking suspicion my local stores had employees hiding shit from customers to wait for price drops/clearance. But the worst had to be the closing Blockbuster stores, where the entire front desk had their drawers stuffed full of stuff on 'hold' for employees(and their friends/relatives).

The employees I could possibly understand stashing shit to get at a much better percentage off later on, but allowing their friends AND family to do so too? That to me was complete and utter BULLSHIT.

But since there was jack shit that wasn't overpriced even with the discounts and nothing I really, REALLY wanted I let them have their fun. After all, many of them would be permanently out of a job soon enough, so they can have their scratched up former rental copy games/dvds.

For the mario dsi xl bundle I just called the target near me and the guy was super helpful! He said that they had a ton in back and that the price was $125.98 BUT! he said the price drops 10% each week on sundays aka tomorrow so $113.38! (supposedly)

Picked up the HUGE Halo Reach collectors Legendary Edition for $34.99. It was label backwards on an end cap near the automotive area. Ive never played it so this was go-getter.:)

I'm sure some might hide stuff, but just because the guy told him they were behind some tvs doesn't mean someone was hiding them there. It might just mean they had a whole crate of them and they somehow got stored with the TV boxes.
