Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Nice find! I also picked up a copy, but at $75 instead. Not bad anyhow, traded-in the copy of Reach for $25, and kept the statue and flame-head code, plus limited edition extras all for $50.

This is probably a dumb question, but will Targets adjust the clearance prices of items they no longer have in stock? My local Target had a second PS2 Slim that I'd been hoping to pick up after returning the one I bought for $69.99, but it's gone now; the price for the Slim is still $69.99 (I scanned the UPC), but is there any chance that the price for the Slim at that Target will lower to the reported $49.99 if the store doesn't have any more in stock?

Odds are "yes". Most of the 12 or so stores I've been to continue dropping prices even when they no longer have them in stock. Still YMMV though. Just keep checking those scanners.

Last I heard, official policy was "no."

Reductions only happen when the store still has a copy to mark down. Once they are sold out, no more markdowns.

Also, they will not price match clearance items to other stores--that I know they are firm on.
 
In La Plata, MD, snagged the last copy of Black Ops prestige (with the RC car) for $37.50. Was still tagged as $127 or so, but scanned as $37. The dude had to ask his manager before he'd sell it to me. There was jack for other clearance. I was there looking for a PS2, but they were long gone. No Mario, No Heavy Rain, nothing else good at all.

But I'm not totally sure if this Prestige edition has been opened and had the DLC codes redeemed. The seal was just black masking tape, like something returned. I opened it and the disk was still in there and the case, but there was no plastic around the disc case, and the DLC codes were right there. Is that how it's supposed to be packaged, or did someone open it up and steal the DLC?

If it is new it has a black sticker over the outside box seal. It sounds like you are ok. The resealed ones I have seen have used clear tape over the black sticker. The steelbook is not sealed.

I have scanned UPC and punched in DCPI numbers for clearance items and saw that the prices kept dropping for things that were long sold out in the store. I just recently did that for Black Ops and my store had not had those for a while.
 
Well, that was weird timing--on a whim, I scanned the PS2 Slim UPC today at the Target where I purchased the one at $69.99, and voila, $49.99 appeared as its price. I know it's a long shot (probably many miles long), but I'm going to try to get a price-match later this week. $20 is $20, after all. :D

Went in today and they said they had about 40 of the dsi xl's left and that the price drops on mondays. (10% a week) the employee told me he was waiting to get it at 50% off.

ps3 copies are not, but 360 copies are sealed.

I know they do at mine, stuff disappears too often and in a way that's just too consistent to be coincidence. EVERY time a bigger ticket item (Reach Legendary, Black Ops, etc) is about to drop it disappears. Often the items are still shown as in stock online too, but they are no where to be found in-store. I've even gotten odd looks from employees when I've went in to ask for stuff. Once while searching for Black Ops the lady gave me a weird look and then literally speed walked to the stock room right after I talked to her.
 
More shovelware this week. Highlight was a 37 vizio tv but it's at 650 right now, so it will be awhile for a good price drop.
 
Found the Mario Kart/DSI XL bundle at 30% for $125.98 this past Wednesday just in time for my daughter's birthday. Thanks CAGs. They had about 125 copies and I am sure these will probably sell out at 50% for $89.98. Heres a pic.

you guys are lucky, the target where I live, the clearance rack is filled with crappy ipod touch cases, and that's what makes up the electronics. a wall of unsold ipod cases, they shrunk it down even more because a pharmacy is being built near the electronics, need I say games. A pharmaceutical cure for your gaming addiction!

Steelbook is suppose to have seal just like standard copy. adamical I would enter in code on 360 to verify it wasn't used. Just be sure not to click "redeem now" if you choose to check this way.

I'd love to get my hands on one of those DSi XL bundles, but my local Tagert had none, and my bar code sheet came up at over $150+ for it.

Thanks for the input, guys. It's the PS3 version, so it sounds like it wasn't supposed to be sealed. I'll try and go redeem the DLC tonight and see if it works. Honestly, the RC car on its own is almost worth the $37, that thing is sweet.
 
I've been at my Target twice now since people have started spotting the DSI's and I keep forgetting to look! They're definitely out there like in that pic though or I wouldn't have been able to miss them. If I end up getting one I'll be selling my PSP though, that's for sure.
 
Talk about shadyness. I went to a Target that showed limited availability on a game. I asked the employee for it and he goes we have the pc version only. I check stock link today and its out of stock. shadyness. Was surprised to see SWFU2CE. Passed on that.

For the record, I was talking about PS3. It is worth it for what you paid. You can sell the game/steelbook when you are done with it and pretty much get what you paid for everything.

PS3 steelbook has no seal while the Xbox one does.

I saw Disney Enchanted Princess (wanted to pick it up as a gift) marked 30% off for 13.XX

it has been at this price for a couple weeks now...and I saw people report it go as low as 4.XX so I figured it went lower and just wasn't retagged...however, when I scanned it to check it said "item not found" and when I manually typed in DPCI into price checker it said the same thing...if I was to try to buy this game would I be charged 13.XX???

If it is "out of system", you can sometimes get it for the last valid price if you take it to the electronics counter and ask.

They have to use the hand scanner on it. Pricing is YMMV though. In theory they should price it at the lowest drop at that store, but they may get lazy and tell you it is price as marked, or they may not sell it to you at all.
 
PS2 bundle with Toy story 3 dropped to $49.99. I bought it from them when it was $69.99. So I bought it and went to customer service and told them I wanted to return the original higher price one. They just let me keep the one I had and did a return/rebuy at the cheaper clearance price. I also obviously returned the 2nd one as well. Tax was cheaper and replacement plan was cheaper. So I got $25 back. Very happy- except I landed up spending more $ on other stuff at Target today then if I had just stayed home. LOL
 
Went to two Targets in my area (Southside and San Jose) and there was nothing. Best deals where Animal Crossing City Folk for $12.xx and NHL 2K11 for Wii for $7.xx.
