Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

:whee: :ps3:DC Universe Online is FINALLY showing "Limited Availability" on the mobile stock locator link, which is the same thing everything that went clearance showed.

It was only showing 'available' a week or so ago.

So maybe this means both of my local Target stores finally caught up with the rest of the fuckin' chain.

I'll have to check either today or tomorrow if I'm near one of the two stores in my area. I'm itching to make El Hoardo on DCUO already.;)

No drop on PS2. I guess I'll check back next Monday since no one seems to want the one they have left here and I don't really need it. But if it drops again I'm definitely getting it.
Target is closed on easter? Who knew?
Not me, I drove to one yesterday after picking up my $19.99 DJ Hero 2 from TRU. I felt quite the fool :)
NBA 2k11 xbox 360 $9.98

Took it next door to Gamestop and got $26.50 for it towards LA Noire.
Can you give us the DCPI please?

Zombie Jesus Christ God forbid retail employees get a holiday off.
I work at Wal-Mart and we were open on Easter, so I'm really surprised Target was closed myself.

Then again Target was also closed on Thanksgiving, they seem to be closed three days a year (Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas) and close earlier then us on Christmas Eve (I believe 5pm we close at 10pm)

Anyways Newington, CT had nothing for the past few weeks and are going thru a remodel. I haven't checked this week yet.
Bought Gran Turismo :psp: for $2.54 (85% off). Was surprised, haven't seen many decent games get to 85%.
my local target all gone after it hit $4.98

Found the following in the North Fontana Store in southern Cali:
:360:Green Day Rockband for 5.04
:360:Naughty Bear for 6 bucks.

Picked up both, it was the last Rockband but there was a stack of Naughty Bears left. The stack hadn't been labeled yet, but they were on the counter in electronics. The guy scanned Naughty bear and he said it shows up as Salvage, but said someone could price it. He called over a pricing team member, and they priced it at 6 and some change. Dude was real cool about it.

Also, there were like Four DSi XL Mario Kart Bundles at the Rancho Store for like weeks which suddenly dissapeared. They were at 125 when I last saw them. They must have dropped one more time before it got swooped.

Nothing else of note for clearance.
The thing that's dumb about it to me is that Easter really only holds any significance if you're either a child, an adult with smaller children, or a deeply religious Christian. So basically, I'd have to guess at least 2/3 of the people getting off when a store closes for Easter really have no reason to be off. What is even odder is that Target has historically been one of the "Happy Holiday" stores as opposed to a "Merry Christmas" store.

But yeah, point being I really don't understand why stores fully close, I'm sure they could give people the holiday off who "need" it and still have more than enough to work it. Or offer some sort of incentive for working it.

While I agree not many celebrate it. It's still there for the purpose of being a holiday, a day off.
Every Easter we have lackluster sales, almost as bad as say a Tuesday or Wednesday of the week (Wednesday usually being the worst since Tuesdays have new games or movies) to the point It' ends up being more costly to run the store and stay open. It always baffles me why any store has to be open every day of the year when theres always the next day that the store will be open, or worst comes to worst and you NEED gas or milk or some food for a day or two - well the gas stations are ALWAYS open, so whatever.

So point being I don't understand why stores need to be open everyday of the year. Also, I do not receive any incentive working easter (Wal-Mart does not pay time and a half or holiday pay for easter). Also Wal-Mart does not have to approve the time off, and if you call out, especially on a holiday if they are open, its frowned upon. Though we are allowed four call outs in a rolling six month period (I rarely ever call out of work, except in the winter due to weather).

Anyways, retail sucks and I am quite aware of that. I *puts on shades* deal with it.

Just throwing this in there, but most polls in 2010 showed around 78-80% of Americans identifying themselves as Christian. 2/3 is quite the exaggeration.

That said, my Target had absolutely nothing today. It was most likely ravaged by moms earlier as the store was riddled with mothers/children due to school being out today.

No they cant both be right, JKSonic was saying that 2/3 of the people getting the day off were NOT "a child, an adult with smaller children, or a deeply religious Christian". Your sources seem to suggest that at least 59% of Americans self identify as Christians. That would seem to suggest that more than 1/3 of Target workers are likely to be Christian; nevermind how many of them might actually have small children....

$10 NBA2k11 would be sweet, too bad no Target near me ever has clearnace that good.

Sorry to derail this topic further, but I think those Christian numbers are scewed. Out of the 60-75% of people that "identify" themselves as Christian, how many are active? I would say MAYBE half. I dont know many people personally that go to church on a consistent basis or even at all. Yet a lot of them (wife included) call themselves Christian. But they dont really follow those beliefs other than wanting days off! :)

I'm still waiting for Super Street Fighter IV & Monopoly Streets to hit clearance at my store. Been checking for over a month on SSFIV and there's a few in the backroom, it's marked "discontinued" on the PDA, but no clearance pricing -- still MSRP ($29.99). Sigh.

$10 NBA2K11 would be nice to find as well.

I sad deeply Christian, in that you're actually practicing. The number of people I know who are Christians and actually practicing (as in regularly attending church) is very small. Smaller still is the number of practicing Christians who actually adhere to the traditions and morals of their chosen denomination. I don't think 2/3 is an exaggeration at all.

Anyway, yeah I agree that lackluster sales on that day is the real reason why they usually close. Although I've seen stores which have reduced hours on holidays, say being open from 12-5 or something. If they advertised sales or something like that I'm sure they could get people to come in. I mean after all they get people to leave their families on Thanksgiving to shop a day early.

I think it's sort of funny though that it was said the point of it being a holiday is to have off. It's a religious day first and foremost, lets not forget...official government holiday or not.

The thing is Easter and Christmas are two days a year that those non deeply religious Christians will actually go to church. So while maybe half of those people who say they are Christian don't typically attend church services regularly you will see a good number of them make it to Easter service.

Very true... I don't want to get into a debate about religion and stuff here but I will say this. I'm of the group that finds it pretty insulting when people just go to church on/around major Christian holidays.

I just think overall the way we handle stuff like Christian holidays and well as Sunday's in general is pretty funny, although very outdated. IMO it's just time we start being realistic about it all and acknowledge that these days are only significant for their intended purposed to only a very small percentage of Americans.

Nvm not trying to derail the topic. Anyway does anyone know good hiding places employees will hoard stuff. My one target rarely has any games and I think someone is trying to keep things close
For themselvles.

I don't know if I have any answers, but all of these traditions started when most Americans did attend church of some kind. I would even guess that the percentage of regular attendants to non-goers (or only holiday-goers) could very well have almost perfectly flipped or even went past that.

Churches could stamp time cards or something so only the people who actually use Sundays/Holidays for intended purposes could take advantage, lol...jk, I don't know. You have to admit though, the traditions were based on grossly outdated ideas/percentages/ideals.
Mondays in the Target clearance thread just ain't what they used to be.

Yeah, you can definitely tell when there's a drought of decent clearance at Target, can't you? lol

I have a question in regards to DPCI, since I'm a relative n00b to Target clearances.

I'm looking for NBA2k11 on clearance at a Target near me. I use the Target Mobile site with the adjusted DPCI as stated in the OP, and when I typed in my zip code I found copies available. So does this mean that...

a) The game is in stock AND on clearance? OR...
b) The game is in stock, but may or may not be on clearance?

I think the $10 NBA 2k11 must a be a store specific mistake. Like they accidentally thought it was nhl 2k11 for wii or something. At least someone should have seen it hit 50% before it went straight to 75%.
NDS Final Fantasy Four Heroes of Light $12.48
Boat loads of ink jet cartridges, picked up one for my HP 7.XX
When I was up there earlier one of the associated was just coming thru with the cart to mark down the electronics clearance endcap. My store had a ton of Epson ink cartridges but unfortunately not very many HP. The few they did have didn't fit my printer (need HP 21 & 22).

I think most christians are not 100% practicing but most practice enough to get together with family or do something for easter where they are less likely to go shopping. I think thats the logic. They may not be in church on easter but they are doing something with their family or kids to celebrate easter.

I honestly think for both Easter and Christmas they need to differentiate between the religious holiday and the "I want off from work/kiddie/presents" holiday. I celebrate both but I'm not even close to a practicing Christian, in fact I'm not really a Christian at all (too much to try and explain). Point is Christmas is something very special to me without having anything to do with the birth of Jesus, as it is for a lot of others.

Plus I've always found it a little odd since they are both religious holidays and there's supposed to be that whole separation of religion and state thing...

I saw a ton of HP ink cartridges today, but I didn't pick any up. I switched to a laser printer and haven't looked back.

Just recently replaced my 250 page toner that came with the printer after just shy of 700 pages. With the same type of printing, I'm expecting just short of 2800 pages with the new toner. That's like 1.6 cents a page.

Ive been extremely dissapointed the past couple of weeks. The targets in Pasadena,CA have been barren on video game related things. Now it's all iPhone cases and cheap earphones. I havent seen any games in weeks

Has anyone else seen those DLP Projectors (no HDMI, not 1080p) on clearance? I think they were marked down to around 89.xx or so from 16X.xx

I have seen it, it may make a nice gift or novelty purchase if it reaches 75% off...

I saw one on my lunch break about an hour ago at the 50% off price. If it hits 75% I'll probably bite
Nothing good clearance wise as far as games in my area, been that way for a while now. I am waiting for those 8GB sd cards (Sandisk I think) to hit 75% off though

Final fantasy 4 heroes was $17.xx here today

A couple weeks ago I got Disney Princess and the Frog for 9.98

I got Bakugan Defenders limited edition for $7.48 and Secret Files Tunguska for 4.98. I was really surprised to see Secret Files as I thought that was a game that was only out in europe. There was also a Petz game with DSi features for 4.98 and a Camp Rock game for 13.98. I really can't go wrong with DS games that are under $10 as there aren't many stores in my area that clearance games anymore especially to under $10.

LOADS of iPod touch 4 cases, iPad cases and iPhone 4 cases, there were also some cases for the iPod touch 2nd gen. All were well priced but I am fine with the .99 cases from ebay so no point in me buying a $5-10 case when those suit me just fine.

The 3DS is not selling here, I have been trolling my Target for a couple weeks and not one unit has moved, however the case was empty of DSi and DS Lite units.

There were some 2GB microSD cards for 5.98 but I think you might be able to do better than that.

I don't want to derail the topic either but the mall here was open yesterday at least until 5. Pretty much every store here is open now on holidays. It started with Kmart opening on Thanksgiving then the economy took a downturn and stores couldn't afford to stay closed on holidays especially when people are on vacation, have nothing to do and ready to spend.
I have seen it, it may make a nice gift or novelty purchase if it reaches 75% off...
I saw a couple of them at my store too. Right under the endcap with the assload of iPod accessories and HDMI cables on clearance (I laugh every time I see an HDMI cable still at $30+, and that's the CLEARANCE price!). Retail HDMI cables are such a rip!
