Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
Kudos to you, sir. After all the greedy bastards in the thread about the $7 DQ IX, it's nice to hear someone leave a deal for someone else.
No prob. Good luck. ;)

I can't believe all of you lucky ducks finding this crazy 1st party Nintendo stuff at 75% today! Definitely jealous... As for those Animal Crossing's, I would have bought as many as they had for 6 bucks..they aren't worth a ton now, but it is a first party Nintendo title. It's almost a sure bet it's value will only increase. I would venture to say it will be going to $40-50, come holiday time.
I didn't see any new games today but I did score a iPad otter box defender for only $22.
Same here.
It's damn good deal for $22!

Picked up Star Wars: Force Unleashed 2 CE (360) for $10.04 207-22-0525, and there was a Mario Slugger for $12.98 but I left that one there.

Edit: Added DPCI and price.

I can say with certainty this won't be the case. This game was massively overprinted and is widely available. More importantly, it's just not that great. Not every or even most Nintendo first party titles increase in value, especially recently.
Do you guys find all these clearance deals in the normal game area or are they by the checkout lines by the front?
Usually on aisle endcaps in or around the electronics and gaming section of the store.

In one of my stores, they just leave some clearance games in the glass prisons with the red sticker on them. The other stores never do that.

Picked up Secret Files Tunguska DS for $5. Based on the cover it looks like it's geared towards girls a la Nancy Drew so maybe that's why it's clearanced, but it's actually supposed to be a decent point and click mystery adventure type of game, hopefully like Phoenix Wright or Hotel Dusk. Figured worth a try for $5.
Picked up Alien vs. Predator :360: for $3.xx today. I was sort of surprised to see a game get to 85% off.
NICE! I would definitely grab one at that price!!

I was able to score Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light today and some easter candy (50% off!). SMG, SSFIV, and GoW Collection were still full price :(.

Called a target that said Star Wars: Force Unleashed 2 CE was available. They said they had 9 when they looked it up but they couldn't find any of them :whistle2:x

They moved the clearance section in my target and now its worse than ever. Just a bunch of hockey games and bad ds games =/ I hope it improves soon

Found at least 100 copies of Animal Crossing for $6.xx, and a giant LEGO Space Police set originally priced at $100 down 50%. If the LEGOs hit 75% the 10 year old in me might jump on it.

Don't know why you guys are passing on animal crossing. It currently trades in to amazon for $10 so yea you might have to buy a lot of them, but if there are so many you can easily make $100 from them.

Doesn't Amazon limit the number of items you can trade in? Isn't it like 2 per title?

Idk I've only ever traded in a copy or two so I never knew there was a limit in place.

Well, I don't care what you guys say, I would grab dem shitz. If anyone wants to pick up me up 100 copies of Animal Crossing, I'll pay $800 shipped....furreal.

Whatever dude. When I trade them into amazon, I'm gonna get $1000 in credit. Then I'm set for life.

Speaking of "El Gordo", he's gotta love the Targets around here. Lots and lots of Easter candy at 30% right now. I'll go back next week and see what's left, maybe at 60% or more. Right now there's atleast 6 endcaps jammed full of bags of Snickers, Reeses, and the like, top to bottom.

The Easter candy in NC is all at 75%. Or at least, it was on Tuesday. I approached the group that had massed around the Easter Clearance wall with trepidation and found everyone was scouring the whole place for Cadbury eggs. Every time a box of four was found, there were people flocking to that location, searching in vain for more.

I couldn't help but feel like I was watching someone feed rice to some seagulls...

Target in CT had Easter Candy at 50% off but all other Easter related things were marke 70% off. That included a mini MegaBlocks package of a Halo ODST vehicle and small soldier going for $2.86 I think.
I plan on stocking up on Cadbury eggs just to resell them at a later date for $3 each!
Those things are so bad now. I remember the much bigger cadbury eggs filled with that gooey sticky mess...ahhh the good old days.

In closing for the kids at home, around age 35 is when you start telling people things aren't as good as they used to be LoL

If anyone feels compelled to help out another CAG with :wii:Animal Crossing, I'd gladly pay $10 shipped for it. PM me if interested! Thanks!

Not to jump on you specifically, but unless you could magically get out of the store without tax and send the game through media mail, it's gonna be a lot more than $10 shipped.

I'd say $12-$15 is a more fair price, which seems like gouging when you see the price is $6.70. But it's gonna be $8 with tax, and the cheapest I can send a game as an amazon seller is about $5.

Just saying.

edit: I don't have any extra copies, I was just stating. I see all these requests in this thread that likely fall on deaf ears. It's because the request doesn't even include any account for time or gas, and usually doesn't account for tax or full shipping charges either. That doesn't include a box to ship in, etc.

Tax is maybe $0.65 at 9.75%. Shipping a game as an Amazon seller is $3.99. USPS first class mail is cheaper than media mail at 6~7 oz, and is about $2.29 with shipping confirmation. Depending on your printer, $0.02-$0.20 for the label, maybe $0.02 for the paper. Bubble mailers are $0.00-$1.29 (I save most of the ones I receive for reuse). another $0.30 taken out by Paypal. So yea, $10 won't even cover the basic costs.

However, there is absolutely no incentive on top of this. My first few trades here were at a loss due to gas, but I stopped because I found absolutely no one else returned that kind of favor, and one person didn't even leave me feedback for my troubles.

Amazon allots you $3.99 to ship a game but that's not my actual shipping costs. Of course I don't ship full games in bubble mailers either so perhaps there is a way to shave off another $1 or two.

It's sad these days. Unfortunately, "Cheap Ass Gamer" has taken on a whole new meaning.

Sometimes you find a fellow boardie who will be courteous or even helpful. Most of the time though, people truly want something for absolutely nothing.

I remember starting the Target clearance trade thread, and people would be very helpful in finding the games and helping each other out by picking them up for a few bucks over c+s, or trading, etc.

Now, you'd be lucky if you even get a reply to your "can you help me out with..." list.

I know I haven't.

Hang in there though - there are some good boardies left though. ;)

I always figure I'm paying it forward with time and gas. Besides, I don't find it too hard to work a Target run or a post office trip into my errands.

And that's a great attitude to have. :applause:

I just returned a copy of :360: Dragon Age: Origins UE to the Buena Park Target on Beach/Orangethorpe in case any fellow CAGers from OC missed out on that. Not even sure how cheap it would be, it has to be below $12 now though.

Is it just me or do Cabury creme eggs suck now? I bought a bunch and the majority of them have this nasty thick sugary filling. Definitely not the smooth creamy (its called a friggin CREME EGG!) filling i remember as a kid. I did some googling and it seems the American rights got bought a couple years ago by.. Kraft i guess? (wtf?) Im wondering if they changed the recepie or if i just got a huge bad batch.

Anyone else notice this at all?

as far as finds.. man im getting sick of this i never see anything at my local store. There were a few copies of the PSP jak and daxter game but after i went home to look up reviews to see if it was worth it, it was gone when i got back. I think either they never put anything out or there are people hitting it up and hiding stuff very fast

I bought a PS3 version yesterday $12.48 since it didn't ring up with a price. $12.48 was the last price it was marked out at the store I was at.

Yes I bought some eggs as well. It's a pile of white sugary mess, not what I remember either.

Scored these today:
DS - Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light - $12.48
DS - Secret Files: Tunguska - $4.98
DS - Big Bang Mini - $14.99

Big Bang Mini wasn't on clearance but they only had one copy and I haven't seen one with the lenticular slip-cover in ages so I decided to get it.

I picked up a xbox 360 60gb hard drive kit with the three month xbox live card for 24.98 in Hudson, Wi but it was the last one. They had several at the Target on Valley Creek in Woodbury, MN which are now probably at the same price. . .
