Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
Well aren't the pandas going extinct?

I'm pretty sure I've had the sad panda for over a year now.
You wouldn't be if you stopped being lazy and aggressively copulated.

On-topic: Vanquish described like that makes me think of BulletStorm, no wonder it's been on my radar so long.

Off-topic: If it'd help, I'd make my avatar a panda too.

Not sure what's going on. I checked the tracker for Resistance 2 the other day and only 2 stores in my area showed "Limited Availability". I checked one of those stores and couldn't find it, but now the tracker shows "Available" at about 10 stores that didn't have it before. Don't know why so many stores would get that much more inventory of a clearance game at the same time. I bet they are going to the "value" wall of games now at $20. Oh well, I kind of wanted to wait for the resistance 1+2 2-pack that's coming out anyway.

I know it has been mentioned previously in the forum thread that you can go to the little red stations and put in dcpi number to get stock a prices. My question is what happen if you find an item and type in the dcpi to see if it went lower and it says the item doesn't exist. It may not have said that but the screen didn't pull up anything. I tried multiple times so I can't chalk it up to user error. I saw tons of drops people have listed in the last couple of pages at one of the two local targets I visit.
You wouldn't be if you stopped being lazy and aggressively copulated.
Never have truer words been spoken.

Went to my local Target to look for Sly Cooper collection...found it, but it's 20.xx instead of 14.xx. Was about to leave when I found a Buzz Quiz World on the lower section for 9.xx. Happily paid for it and left. Also so two Vanquish for 360 at 14.xx, and a bunch of Wii games.

Hope the Sly Cooper collection will still be there for another drop.

Managed to pick up the very last copy of the sly cooper collection. Got it for 14.95. Could not pass it up at that price. That brings my backlog to a total of 40 for this year :D TY CAG
Just for that bit of flattery, I'mma put that in my sig, thanks.
Put this in your sig.
i wondered that too. I guess there was a sticker and they typed in the dpci.
Yeah, the guy was confused that there wasnt a barcode to scan so he just manually entered it. The collector in me wants to return it...but I cant pass up the price either =_=
My question is what happen if you find an item and type in the dcpi to see if it went lower and it says the item doesn't exist.
It's out of system so you'll need to get one of the workers to look up the item on thier handheld scanner. They'll tell you the last know price and usually sell it to you at that price.

Though I wouldn't bother unless you found the actual item. In other words, don't hassle them for a price check if there isn't a copy to buy.:)

Found Sly Cooper COllection for $14.98 here in Rowlett, TX. Snagged last copy. They did have a few copies of Vanquish for PS3 left,MAG and a few Wii games.

Was at my local target yesterday and picked up Sly Cooper Collection for 14.xx on PS3, and NCAA Football 10 for 14.xx on 360. Was hoping to get Vanquish for 360 but they only had it for PS3.

I would have picked up Sly Collection myself, but I just got it from Gamefly the other day and I can't see myself playing it much after I beat it.

On a related note has anyone been able to scan a ps2 recently and see if the item dropped or will it stay at 49.98?

Edit: Is the reason it doesn't show up on the scanners that they don't recognize the item in their system anymore and will give the last price they show in the system.

in theory it should continue dropping.

Is it possible for an item to go on clearance and then come back off clearance?

I just called the Target of Largo, FL (Ulmerton Rd.) to price check Just Cause 2 (Xbox 360, DPCI: 207-22-0465

- Here, it says $14.98
- There, per the clerk (checking in their PDA): $29

This is apparently the price in inventory at several other locations nearby (Clearwater, Tampa, etc.)

To check the validity of another title, GTA Stories from Liberty City (207-22-0415) did, in fact, scan as $4.98

What's going on?

Forgot to mention this a few posts back. When I picked-up MvC3 CE for $35, the same Target store was selling the regular version of MvC3 for $60 in the normal display case. I didn't bother to mention the irony to the cashier, she could have cared less.

So she cared a little bit then?

I haven't found a store yet that had it under 49.xx. I was going to try a return/ rebuy, but I think I am running out of time.
Just for that bit of flattery, I'mma put that in my sig, thanks.
Nice, finally immortalized in somebody's signature.

Found 2 Rock Band 3 Keyboards for PS3 for $19.98 each so I grabbed them. Not a bad deal for them at all, gonna keep one and give the other to a friend.

Could you pass along the DPCI?

Might not be a good thing, but you've earned it.

Might hit Target on way to check BB for LA Noire codes, will post any "finds".

@ Daz

That's how I feel all the time in this thread. I'm pretty sure there's not a local El Hoardo, but Target just doesn't wanna carry clearance stuff/put stuff on clearance in the first place. I must be a sucker for punishment to keep coming back.

I found one at a local target today too. Talk about an insta-purchase! Excellent find after months and months of abso-fucking-lutely nothing in terms of clearance games.

LMAO!
How can you check if the game is on clearance without going to the store?
Call the store and hope you don't get a 'lazy' Customer Service rep and give them the "DPCI". Customer Service CAN tell you. I've done it before. Because if they transfer you to Electronics and the employee is a gamer, well... Just hope you don't have the same taste in games...
Nice. Are the drops happening on Sundays or Mondays now?
I thought I read they are happening on Monday. With the stacks of games that have been put on clearance, lately, maybe there will be a new batch tomorrow!:D

Drops are done Monday, but are on a store by store basis. One store near my work always does drops on Sunday though for some reason, that's where I found the RB3 Keyboards. If you really want to know, ask an employee at your target. So far I haven't run into an employee that had a hard time telling me when they do it.

Target in Brick NJ, has one RB3 Keyboard(64.99) for the 360....Kane and Lynch 2(about 15 left)I think it was 24.99? can't remember. These are on the end cap across from the DS games...like next to the cheap PC games.

Nothing to really write home about....hubby offered to buy me gardening mama for 14.99. I had a *copy* of it already though and thought it meh....almost got crafting mama for 19.99

You are not a sucker , its just that you are in a heavy populated tri-state area . Ive been doing target runs for a few years . There is a TON of Cags , SD'ers and EL whoreos too . Not to mention soccer moms who think they are getting a deal at 15 - 30 % off and the crafty workers who have releatives go in and get them games they want . Lets not even mention the panty trolls who hide stuff in the under garments section . Heavy comp in NY/LI . Hit or miss as anything else on the Clearance circuit .

Actually my closest Target doesn't even HAVE a Clearance section, it just has a section called "Value Video Games" which is composed of $20 MSRP titles... (and a few random Wii/DS shovelware) but as for everywhere else, you're probably right. It's not worth the gas price to drive around (especially with gas costs how they are).

Alright, so Target has jack-shit again today, but the girlfriend was off trying on swimsuits so I had like 30 minutes to just stand/pace around/study the awful game prices, and here's what I noticed (This is from the Levittown, NY location, so may be YMMV, also this was a few hours ago so memory may fail a bit here):

Lots of Price Drop tags, and Temporary Price Drop tags, not a whole lot of On Sale tags.

MoH (360/PS3) got a temp price-drop to $20. (Probably best deal I noticed.)

MvC3 (regular 360/PS3) got a temp price-drop to $48.

Witcher 2 (PC) got a temp price-drop to $40.

Fighters Uncaged (Kinect) got a temp price-drop to $30.

Rayman: Rabbids Something Something (Wii) got a price-drop to $20.

Bioshock 2 (360) got a price-drop to $15. (Probably second-best deal I noticed.)

The DJ Hero 2 Bundle cost more than the game by itself, though neither those bundles nor the EA Active Sports 2 bundles were the price I've heard mentioned of. There's a ton of Super Mario All-Stars bundles.. and Pokemon Black/White DSi bundles. Also, continued to not enjoy playing Lego Star Wars on the 3DS they have there. There was probably more I meant to remember, but I forgot, nothing stellar though as you'd imagine.

Got a lot of people coming up to me asking me if I knew games/worked there.. I guess it's not like I had anything better to do than help 'em out.
