Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Went to my target today.

Clearance was about the same.
:ds:- Some Spongebob Game which came with the case

:360:- NCAA Football 10

But then we have the big winner of the day...

I feel sorry for whoever buys that for their kids.

Although I did see a wireless HP all in one printer on sale there for $50, which is a hell of a steal. I might just convince my family we need this and buy it (seeing there is 3 PC's in the house, one a laptop) and it would be much easier to print.

It doesn't seem to be every item. But there has been multiple sightings of 70% as the last discount instead of 75%.
 
A newer one by me has a Starbucks in it and maybe a Subway or some other food place different from the generic ones. The older ones near me have the generic/Target version of a food court set up.
 
I've seen 25, and 70. So weird. Targets 5 miles away from each other have different drop down rates.

also, i got a COD Blops $5 coupon the other day. Too bad it'll expire before that game ever goes on clearance.
 
Of the 3 Targets I go to regularly - one has a very basic food section (this is the poor neighborhood Target that has everyday items cheaper than the sale prices) one Target has a Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, and the other has a Starbucks and Pizza Hut. Nobody mentioned this but I think it matters whether they are just Targets or "Greatland" Targets.

That is how the Targets have been in my area for years. There are a few older models though that do not have the 'frills', but most of them do.
 
Just came back from scouring 3 Targets. Came home with PSPGo cradle ($8.98) and Marvel vs. Capcom 3 SE for Xbox 360 ($20.98).

Been eyeing MvC3 SE like a hawk for months! Patience finally paid off; this particular one had been hiding behind the display case for the regular editions of MvC3, shoved all the way to the back. It had been full priced at $69.99 for a while. Score!

It has the DLC characters (Jill Valentine & Shuma Gorath) but no statue. It's just the Special Edition with the Artbook and Steelcase. Your mention of a statue has me intrigued...! 0.o To my knowledge, for the game's release, there was only a regular edition and the aforementioned Special Edition.

I thought it came with a statue ( any limited edition for a big release seems to have one these days ) I must have gotten it confused with the mortal kombat one.

I've heard of NO VERSION containing a statue. Most likely they were thinking it was a better SE or confused it with so many other versions with one. A lil odd since so many gamers complained about the half ass CE lol

Was there a clearance sticker price on the SE? I was surprised to see one at my Target yesterday, in the displace case. I've never seen it there before. The employee told me that it was full price.

The game was hidden with Killzone 2 (also $7.48) but I moved them. So I can't promise it'll be there still. I can take a look when I get a chance later and let you know.

Some jack wagon bought a PSPgo at my store sometime over the past few days for 15% off... Hoping I can find one when they go to $99. I'm gonna buy one for that if I find one...
 
^Seems like gaming hardware doesn't follow normal clearance schedule. Been 15% at my local Target for about 2 weeks straight now. If I don't get one for less than $100, I'll just wait until other retailers start to clearance out the PSPgo.

Found MAG for $7.48, just magically appeared since I didn't see it there last week.
 
There was one clearance Final Fantasy Xbox bundle at a store in Grand Rapids for $170 something. It was there today at noon. Not sure if it lasted the day or will last another price cut, but just an fyi for anyone looking to pick one up.

Just snagged the last copy of Battlefield 2 for PS3 for $9.98 in The Colony, TX...I was actually surprised to see it because the clearance has sucked around my area lately.
 
so do all clearanced games go out on the rack or do they stay locked up in those shelves?

or better yet, is it better to just use the DPCI to check for prices?
 
Most often they will be on a clearance rack, but I've seen some in the locked shelves with a clearance tag priced right on the display copy.

Not all targets have the same items in clearance at the same time. Its YMMV. People post to let everyone know what's on clearance. Some of the clearance games are in the shelves locked up and some are on the shelves. U can check DPCI and it will tell you if its on the cheap or not.

I'm going crazy waiting for the 8 of them at 15% at my Target to drop even to 30%. I don't know if I'll be able to handle waiting for 50%

I guess if they didn't go down Mon or Tues this week, I'm probably safe until next Monday, but there definitely is a hoarder that hits all the targets here. Whenever I hear about a good deal they are cleaned out and the employee always says that some dude came in and cleaned them out. I assume that guy is going to get them all if I don't bite, but seizing one of these at 30% will seem like a victory over him.
 
ok guys I need a little help here. OP has Left 4 Dead 2 listed at $7.48...using the DCPI tool I entered my zip and can clearly see the word "Available" on my monitor. Left 4 Dead 2 is a pretty popular game and I'm sure I've seen it at the store I'm heading to tomorrow. My question is can I grab any copy of the game for it to ring up that price or am I digging for one with a clearance tag? thnx in advance

They should all scan for the same price. Besides, Wouldnt all the copys be in the bin since they are all on clearance anyway ?

Example: Last week I saw a ps3 copy of vanquish on the clearance endcap for $7.48. (which i put back like an idiot) Next day its gone so I had the associate to pull one from the case...the game rings up at $19.99! Ive never had an issue finding these games, its just finding them for the right price seems impossible.

All Target clearance is YMMV. It is highly likely that two different Targets even in the same town have different prices. One may have it on clearance at $7.xx and the other may have it at MSRP. Your best bet is to scan it, punch in the DPCI, or bring a printed out barcode of the item you want and scan that.

Also, the DPCI tool you type your zip into isn't 100% accurate. It is possible, and I've had it happen to me, it says available when the item isn't in stock. I hope this helps.
