Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Man I really want Assassin's Creed (PS3) and the Sly Collection... But my Target doesn't have anything good. Actually they had Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (PS3) for about 10 dollars, but I've never heard anything about it so I just ignored it.

Looks like a real dry spell. The only game I saw on clearance was Green Day Rockband for PS3 for $13.98.
what amazon ban page?

I wish they would ban more people.
A year or maybe longer ago, a ton of people got e-mails saying they were banned from Amazon. It seemed like most were banned for excessive order problems like returning too much stuff. I tried to find the e-mail that was sent but did a search and couldn't find it.

It is pretty good for a Prince of Persia game, not as good as the older ones but very solid. Excellent platforming.

I got it for ten bucks at best buy and thought it was great. I was surprised, really enjoyed it and do recommend it.

Oh nice. I'll have to go back and check it out. By the way, when does Target generally update the clearance section? This will give me a good idea on how often I should go and check around for good deals.

Of course you'll find complaints about this on Slick Deals

Had a PS3 Mag in my hand, and it scanned out of the system. I know that they can look up the last price that is in the system and sell it to me for that, but the guy checking me out in electronics didn't know that and neither did the person who was on the radio that he asked. He was gonna sell it to me for $20.48, which was the price of a clearance Wii game, but I said no thanks. $7.48 and I would've paid, anything else, I'll wait.

MAG seems skippable or at least I didn't like the demo. It has the pace of the Battlefield games and not CoD, and I prefer my Battlefield games with a keyboard and mouse. I've seen plenty of copies on clearance, but I just don't think I'd invest time into it.

Ever since my local Target switched from their old layout for video games to the new clamshell rows and case behind, I just cant seem to find any deals

There are 44 Targets in the DFW Metroplex, I counted Rockwall and Collin counties too. I went to about 20 yesterday and I think 38 total within the last week and all I've been able to find is stupid Greeday Rock Band and Truth or Lies. Did see some stores with copies of Darksiders but none were marked down yet. The only store that had anything notable was the Lake Worth, TX store which had one copy of each X-Men Origins: Wolverine :ps3: for $9.48 and a copy of Vanquish :360: for $7.48 but I passed on both. All in all a great big disappointment

No joke about everything being bigger in Texas. For those of us non-Texans, the Metroplex is a collection of 12 counties in Texas. I don't know why they have them combined like that for this Metroplex thing... But anyhow, how long does it take you to get through all of those stores? Sounds like one expensive trip. But definitely hardcore deal hunting on your part

I used to hit up the Frisco Targets with pretty good luck (Preston & Gaylord, El Dorado & the Tollway) but every now and then I'd find that the one in Plano of Parker & 75 had a game or two I wanted.

Isn't the consensus that drops usually on Monday? It would seem a waste of a Sunday dragging around. Myself in nw houston here. About 6 stores in a 15 minute drive in all directions. One reason I was checking the thread here today...to see if there were any epic drops worth going out in this heat for (so far sounds like a big no). Lately pretty thin on drops, expect that to change heading into fall as they get ready for holiday season.

I know, seriously. Go back and get that!

I missed out on Vanquish around here, I cannot fathom why you would pass on that. To each his own.
This times 9000 !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bleah I dont know what the hype was for this game after playing it.. felt like one long ass level and once I beat it I never went back.. > $10 is a great price either way though...

I'm not an XBox owner so I thought I'd leave it for one

Managed to pick up some hauls in a few stores over the weekend.

:360: Vanquish $7.48
:ps3: BioShock 2 $3.48
:ps3: Sly Collection $7.48 (forgotten away in plastic prison with no price tag)
:ps3: Green Day Rock Band $4.98

Saw a PSP Go cradle and screen protector at 75% off too.

Stupid DFW!!! :bs:

Don't know about others, but clearance usually sucks around a holiday. It seems like they freeze the clearance schedule for the week before and the week after the holiday; no new additions or price drops.

I guess my local stores figure they'll sell to people who don't normally have the opportunity to get in there.

Agh I bought Bioshock 2 from Amazon for $10... And now I really want to get the Sly Collection for $7.48 but can't find it :(

Its not a consensus, its Target's schedule. Schedules do have some local variations--you will need to determine your store's pattern yourself, but the Electronics Dept standard is Monday.

VG clearance was empty at the two stores I went to today. One store actually brought some Othello board games and car wash sprayers over to the electronics endcap:lol:.

On the bright side, both stores have the budget game section (next to PC section) and all of those games are on sale for 14.99 (5 buck savings). Nothing for me but remember seeing Blur, Midnight Club complete, Oblivion and Fallout 3. But there were about 30 different titles split among

,
iconwii.gif
,
iconxbox360.gif
, and
iconps3.gif

And one store got a couple of CoD PS3 system in so I was able to swap out the standard 160gb unit I bought a few weeks ago. Hooray me, I can finally open up the PS3.

the SD ones are 1 digit lower I believe.
Thanks man! Unfortunately they are all out of stock in NEOH.

on a whim went into the target on the way home, and saw that BBC2 was still on the shelf, sticker 19.98, so I scanned it, 9.98. Re-purchased it to have for my 2nd PS3 so I can load as a dummy account for shenanigans while playing my main.

was hoping to find SLY for 7.48, but might just have to settle for 15 since none of the stores around me have it at the lower price, which would make a return/rebuy moot. As I understand it, if their last copies sold at 15, then their system would not register the last markdown to 7.48 and my return would still b 15 at that point. And then I would risk the chance of losing it.

Probably the cheapest price you can currently find on Oblivion GOTY(on either system).

Around mine, there's usually a ton of clearancing done right up TILL the holiday weeks, then nothing for a couple of weeks and all the customers who come in for whatever holiday it is decimate the clearance section while they're there.

It's sad it's becoming a pattern THAT I RECOGNIZE.

I'm a sad panda, I can't find a sly collection copy on clearance. I'm hoping someone here finds a extra copy and could send it to me. If someone finds a extra one I will happly pay the 8 dollars or so for the game and the shipping cost to send it to me :)

wow. My clearance rack usually sucks but i couldn't belive it today. It was litereally pretty much empty. There was a warcraft game near the top of the shelf, then the rest were all totally bare except for like 3 or 4 random computer items on the bottom shelf.

Same at mine. All video games were gone, and only a handful of random electronics remained.

Saw today:

Rock Band Green Day (PS3) - $4.98
Super Street Fighter 4 (PS3) - $7.48
Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (360) - $17.48

Bought SSF4 and MvC3.
Really wanted the PS3 version of MvC3 as I don't have a 360.
I don't normally buy games to flip but I couldn't pass MvC3 up at that price.
Now I just need to figure out the easiest way to get rid of this so I can buy the PS3 version without paying anything out of pocket.
