Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Found a Lego cars 2 set of flos cafe for $14.98!!! Retails for $60.

There were also some new games on clearance. Professor Layton caught my eye but it was only 30% off

Went to Target but found no clearance games... well nothing mentioning. Pretty disappointed. This is probably the 4th or 5th time I've gone in search of clearance items and walked out of the store without buying anything whatsoever.

Usually when i find any games there,its on a whim,but if i go looking for clearance games,i come up empty.

Yeah this always happens to me. I hear about some awesome deals, end up going, and find absolutely nothing, or even when I do find something, it's for the 360 (which I don't have) + too expensive. The only thing I found today was Rock Band 3 for the Wii for $10, which isn't too bad, but I don't have my Wii anymore so that kinda sucks :\. I also picked up a copy of Truth or Lies (PS3) for a buck for its case (to replace one of the red boxes on my greatest hits games)
 
Suggestion to you guys.
Sometimes the clearance section isnt always where the video games are.
The Target i frequent decided to move the clearance section to where the iPod and cameras are.
So i suggest you look over the complete electronic section.
Check all the ends caps and up and down all the rows and even the computer section.
 
My target had alot of games but mostly 15-20$ stuff like bust a move 3ds

They had a stack of about 20 Iron Man 2 PS3 for 4.97. Grabbed 1
 
I checked three of the local stores, and no 3DS games on clearance. They were all still in their regular shelf locations. I even tried 3 of the different DCPI numbers in the scanner only to see full price.
 
Had some luck over the past week or so in my area {Birmingham-Metro (AL)/Auburn (AL)/Columbus (GA)}:

So within the last week...

- They went from having no clearance games (or electronics) at all.
- To putting them back in their original spot (from years and years ago) with a few scattered electronics
- To just tossing them all in an open box on a shelf in an aisle created just for the few remaining summer clearance toys
- To piling them up on the back wall right next to the dvd/bluray players
 
Copaigue Target had 2 copies of My Sims Sky Heroes for $7.48 and a Kung Fu Rider for $4.98. And a couple copies each of DS games Giant Dino Battles and Bakugan w/ the little figure. The clearance PS3 games were actually stuck in front of the cheap games on the shelves. The section is still mostly folders and junk.
 
I saw a lone PSPgo at the Cary, NC location for $69.xx about half an hour ago. Other than that, there wasn't a lot of interesting things.
 
My Target in Oro Valley, AZ was undergoing a major renovation so I thought the chance of clearance games was null. However I managed to find (and pick up) the following:

:ps3: - LOTR: Aragorn's Quest - $9.98

I was thrilled to find Family Game Night 3 for so cheap.
 
Well guys its official, NYC TARGET CLEARANCE BINS ARE THE WORST ! only one that I went too on east 148'th street had games and all they had were

.1,327 copys of create (both versions) for 19.99
.2 copys of animal crossing (ds) 8.75

I also tried to price match zelda using the pictures of that guys receipts but it didn't work :( I would have picked up a couple for you guys if I was able to price match it. I tried my best
 
They moved my clearance section away from the games area as well so look around if yours seems gone. I found nothing for weeks then found a lot once I figured out where it was.

I was thinking that but i asked and they would point to a wall and say that the electronic clearance stuff is right here. Oh well
 
So just to make sure I'm caught up, no one besides the couple people who went to the same target have found 3DS games on clearance yet, correct? Been checking the ones near me like a hawk with no luck on really anything good clearance-wise.

Funny. That's the same store I was at a few days ago and I saw 3 of them marked $139 but they wouldn't sell them because they came up at $0 in their system.

Probibly not but I figured I would try it as a backup plan if I didn't see zelda for 9.99 as showed the employees the pics they were very surprised bit they saw that it was legit. After seeing it they called their manager and i was saying to myself "could this acually work ? If so my fellow cheapies will be pleased !". However my hopes were crushed when reality hit as the manager said "negative, we don't match clearance items from other targets". It was a total bummer. It was worse when all I could find was create and animal crossing ds woo mother fucking hoo

i think i'm gonna try it, who knows it might work, and if not i'll try it at another store just for the heck of it, and how much did animal crossing ds cost you?

this is literally one of the first things they teach you. Tons of people try this, and it never works. I worked there a few years and they were pretty strict about it, clearance is a pretty large issue for them with employees (hiding, and other fraud) so they make sure you all know the rules day-1.

Animal Crossing Wild World is still in demand because its the only portable AC game available (for now) and it has good interconnectivity. It is a defining game on the DS, like Mario Kart and Nintendogs, with very strong brand recognition. New DS players are coming on the scene all the time (hard to believe, but true), and they all want those "special" games. AC really is built for portable platforms--shoehorning it onto consoles just doesn't feel as good as having it your pocket for short play sessions.

I'd love to get another copy for my son, as he is the last one in our family without one.

Weird, I was at a Target in Columbus, OH yesterday and they had about 15 copies of Carnival Games for XBox Kinect and 1 copy of UFC Trainer for XBox Kinect marked down to $12.98 in the clearance section. I picked up at least one copy of each. I checked several other Targets in the area and this was the only one which had Kinect games in the clearance section.
 
managed to find a copy of Darksiders for PS3 today for $4.98. For that price I couldn't say no to grabbing it, even if it will take me a long time to finally get to it in my backlog.

Unless you're really attached to playing ever other game in your backlog I would really recommend bumping this one up. It's one of those games that I was totally shocked by.

It's a totally unashamed Legend of Zelda clone. But it's done well, and the few twists on the combat and the art style differentiate it enough. It's not a triple A title, but it's well worth your time... especially for $5. If you're a fan of LoZ and the art style interests you, I promise you won't regret at least giving it a 1-2 our test drive.

Im acually trying to choose wether to play darksiders or castlevania los after im done with lost odyssey. Darksiders and los looked really cool so i got both games from the gohastings 40% off deal

I fully agree. I played it a few months back and really enjoyed it. Can't wait for the second one!

I've been to about 3 Targets this past weekend, and 2 of them did have a lot of 3DS games on clearance from $15-$20, but nothing else for the PS3 or XBOX 360. Shame!

Not much new at my local Target this morning. Besides a few things that were there last week (with no additional markdown) there was :ps3: DJ Hero 2 (Game only) for 9.98 and a bunch of PSP titles which I didn't bother to look at.

Bough for PS3:
Darksiders - $4.98
Borderlands GOTY - $7.48

Not sure if I'll keep Both or return one. Need to check how deep the backlog is. Plus lots of quality games coming out in the next few months.
