Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Just picked up some carnival games monkey see, monkey do xbox360 from my local target for 12.48. They had 20+ on clearanced so I didn't feel bad when i picked up 5. They are $15 base TiV at BBy. After bonus I ended up getting $21 a game. Wasn't best flip ever but decent.
Is the trick going to ghetto Target's? Ours stopped with the good clearance stuff while ago.
Yes and no. You need to go to targets without soccer moms that buy stuff the second an orange sticker goes on it or avoid targets with staff that flip/keep everything.

Usually this means lower end targets as many don't have the soccer moms or staff that can really afford to flip or plain just don't care enough about their job. Unless it is a massive deal, like when they clearance out a majority of their electonics section.

The trick is really learning the times that your Targets do things, which will take time for you to figure out.

For example, I frequent about 3 or 4 Targets.
One does some electronics clearance on Sunday.
Another marks items already on clearance further down but waits until Tuesday to mark new items as clearance.
Another does everything before 10am on Monday.
And yet another doesn't get to any of it before Tuesday.
The trick is to keep going back to the same stores and take mental notes on what you observe.

if you spent this amount of time and planning on your work, you wouldn't need to buy games on clearance.

Seen dungeon seige 3 for 25.98 on both ps3 and 360. Only had one copy of each at the target in crestwood, illinois. Actually I don't know if the 360 price was the same, I didn't look at it.

My 5 year old would love that game. Might have to make a trip out to find one.

Darksiders is $20 at my local Target. So do I have them ring it up for $5 or what? I wish I had 1/4 of the luck people have here. Toy R US, BB, GS, Target, Wal-Mart none of these places that i go to, NEVER have sales that I've seen on this website other than weekly ads and such.

Scanning or entering the DPCI into one of the Price Scanners is a must.
I ran into a copy this week that was tagged $14 but scanned for $5.
However, if it comes up $20 in their system, that is what you will have to pay at that store.
if you spent this amount of time and planning on your work, you wouldn't need to buy games on clearance.
This failed logic always pops up on CAG. Guess what, I can't just tell my boss "Hey I'm working 10 extra hours this week. Pay me." Instead, I look for other ways to stretch the money I am making.

Exactly, plus who wants to pay retail prices? Only a fool.
Why would I buy one game with $60 when I can buy several games for the same price if I wait a little while?
Anyway, that guy is probably some brat kid living with his parents waiting for the school semester to start.
He offended me as well. What a tool.
The guy who offended you was obviously picked on in school and just wants to feel like a superior person online. There is nothing wrong looking for stuff in clearance bins. If you are a cag its a must lol. Would you rather pay 19.99 for darksiders or 4.50 ? It's a no brainer what the answer would be

I don't care how much I make, I'm not paying $130 for a Black Ops with a remote control car.

But I'll take one for $37.50 ;)

edit: In response to the 'work moar' guy

Where from? I want 2 :)

Salisbury, MD - A Marvel vs Capcom CE PS3 just showed up, it's still 40 something clearance. Their clearance stuff is now along the back well...I had it in my cart for a bit and had my kids with me and I have to admit I was too lazy to go back. Dumped it on a back toy endcap.

Went to Target today. Saw, but didn't get any of the following:

:ps3: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 - $13.98
:ps3: EA MMA - $9.98
:ps3: and :360: MLB 2K10 - $13.98
:360: Dungeon Siege III - $24.98

I'll definitely pick up Dungeon Siege if it drops below $15.

Oh! Forgot to mention I saw a completely random :ps3: Marvel vs. Capcom 3 SE too for $48.98 and :wii: Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for $14.98.

Maybe you could tape it under something while you're at it.

Not finding anything for VG clearance save for Legends of the Guardians and some Bakugan games.

So, I went ahead and picked up the Jazz Building set. Had bought the Mario motorcycle set last week and can tell this is going to be trouble for me. Must resist the mega sets

Funny, but I think that incident was before June, prior to akir joining, so your comment might be taken seriously o_O

Went today and found 3 copies of TV Superstars for $4.98, about 8 copies of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom for $14.98, and about 4 copies each of MLB 2k10 for PSP and PS3 for $9.98.

This was in Keene, NH.

they had 4 copies of steel diver for $10 at my target today as well as mlb 2k10, mlb 2k11, mlb the show 10, bakugun, and some other titles.
are PSP's still one clearance?
You may be able to find one. The DCPI is 207-19-0066. You can use the link in the OP to check. Remember that even is a store shows in stock they still may not have it marked to $70, or possibly may not even sell it claiming it is salvage.

From what I have read and seen it is only the PSPgos. The 3000 is still normal price. The DCPI I gave is only for the black PSPgo. I don't know what the number is for the white or if the white ones have ever been found on clearance.

well i may not know the dcpi number thing but i know for sure that the white psp gos have been on sell since my target had one a few months ago for $69 i think around there.

First you don't have enough money to support your video game habit, now you're making fun of kids??

Think of all the poor kids (who have more money than you) that might be RAGE-buying video games (at full price), due to your well thought out insult. :~(

you sicken me sir

It takes you 10 hours to buy a video game? What kind of job do you have, professional animal cuddler????

How old are you? If you can't figure out my point, I'm not going to bother explaining it further.

Clearance isn't about not being able to afford the games at full retail. I personally search for every clearance title I can find, I am by no means broke. I recently bought a friend a 3DS because they wanted one. Money is not an issue, it's the thrill of the hunt of searching for clearance.

There's no need to come online and try and insult people for going for clearance because they don't have money, because I can guarantee you it is not always the case. So go back to the hole you crawled out of where you pay full retail for everything and let the rest of us have our fun thanks.

You Took the words out of my mouth lol. It's always exciting to see a great game or a game that you have been on the fence about sitting right in a clearance bin for a really cheap price. You may never know what you find And besides, isn't the point of cag to find CHEAP GAMES !!!!!!!! If that guy loves paying msrp then why is he even here anyway ?

I absolutely agree. It is an obsession for me now. I am very comfortable financially, but love the thrill of finding a great clearance score. I can afford to pay full retail, but don't think it's worth it for most games, yet a 75% off sticker makes most games buyable. Some people love crack to get their fix, my fix is game deal hunting. Probably involves the same part of the brain.

Why do all of you people HATE CHILDREN?!?!? Are you jealous that kids get their parents to buy them games or something?

You missed my point. I was trying to HELP this guy get a promotion by encouraging him to use his stalker antics in the workplace. But he is too mad at children to listen.

Can I be your friend? I use 3ds for coaster for my coffee table, and yes the 3d does add to the drinking experience.

I am here to find cheap games too!!! But I just throw them in the trash for kicks...

Playing msrp games is so much better, but I guess you wouldn't understand that. You get what you pay for, and I get a lot more than you :p

What was it that you do again? Maybe you should more concerned with that?

Stalker antics? Noticing patterns of clearance over years is stalker antics? Really?!:lol:God I hope you're not thinking of or are in law enforcement.

Can someone ban this POS troll? I imagine it won't be the first time for him.
