Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.
Oh so you can see if that item is in stock even of you don't see it ? Or am I wrong ? I've never used dcpi numbers before
You can also use the DPCI when your at the store so an associate can use there little computer (name?!?!) and they can check to see what stores have them and the stock, I believe they can check on the price using the scanner but not 100% sure.

Ever since the change in my Target's store (complete overhaul, almost looks like they're trying to make it a Super Target) in Oro Valley, the clearance has actually been quite good. I'm actually seeing $9.98 games. Today I found Transformers: WFC for $9.98 on Xbox 360. Other than that though it was a sea of DS game rejects.
What is the purpose of the dcpi code for these clearance items ? A lot of people seem to be asking for them
You can manually enter them into the price scanner if it has a keypad. Tells you if they have game and what price. Useful if you cannot find it or it is behind the case with no employee in sight (as happened to me last night).

Hey guys, I bought MvC3:SE :ps3: at my local Target a little more than a week ago even though I already had the regular edition (I'm a steelbook whore). It was the first time ever I had seen the game lying around the clearance section.

The thing is it was listed at almost $50. I still bit (like I said, steelbook whore - and it's also a rare item to find around here). Does Target have a price adjustment policy like Best Buy, by any chance? Is it even possible that the game is now listed at a lower price? I've seen people mentioning something like $17 and even cheaper.

There's no price adjustment policy on clearance items. You can check the DPCI number at that Target and if the price is lower now, you could chance a return/rebuy, but you'll have to wait for them to re-shelve it which could take days, so you may lose the thing altogether. Someone did mention a few posts back that he managed to swing a price adjustment on an item, but that's about the first time I've heard someone succeeding at that. Worth a shot then I guess?

I went to another local Target on my way in this morning. Not much game-wise. A stack of MLB 2k10 PSP for $7.48 (all under lock and key, wtf). A couple of accessories though...

:3ds: Power 3DS Cases (the leather one with a flap) for $13.98 DPCI: 207-00-1086

I'm thinking about getting one of the headsets since I need one anyway but I want to do some research first.

I used the target store tracker on the first page. How accurate is it?

It doesnt show up any in stock in the whole area.

Did Resident evil darkside ever drop to clearance??

Any DPCI guru trackers here? Been trying to figure out how to do it. Not sure if I'll get this MvC3 with the new 1 coming out, but if I find it for really low, I MIGHT.

Could you link this?:

207-24-1008

Thanks!

Few things I saw today:

Tritton A-180 universal gaming headset - around $42.
Castlevania LOS (PS3) - $24.xx
Sonic Kinect Game - $14.xx
Dead Rising 2 (360) - $9.xx
Legend of Gaurdians (PS3) - $14.xx
Wii Play game w/ remote - $12.xx
Thanks!:D $17.48

Hmmm... Or, wait 2 months... Decisions decisions... Tempting... I may go get it! If it's there, tonight, I will buy it. Or, will I? Hmmm... 12 new characters(among other features) in Ultimate. Hmmm... But, atleast I'd be playing it, now. Hmmm...
IMHO, for $17, it's worth it. It's a nice collectible plus 2 other characters that run $10 by themselves as DLC. The Ultimate Edition will eventually be $20...that's when I'll bite.

Here's to hoping DR2 hit's $10 on PS3 as well.

I hope I find something. Haven't checked in awhile but last I remember they didn't have a clearance section for games anymore. That or they moved it. The amount of items appearing were slowing down so hope there has been a increase.

Mine too.

Question for all of you finding these great deals. I understand YMMV, but where do these clearance items typically show up? Mixed in with everything else or do they have their own section? I haven't had any luck at all with Target.

The stores I frequent typically have an endcap towards the back section of either video games or around phones and computer stuff. Sometimes the stuff is mixed in the other games, but usually only if its a high dollar item such as the PSP gos.

Anyway picked up MVC3 SE for :ps3: today for 17.xx. willing to trade it for the 360 version if anyone still has one. PM me if interested.

saw some new ds games on clearance that I didn't pick up.

Professor Layton Curious Village - $7.48
Bakugan Core Collector/Limited Edition with the action figure - $7.48
Who wants to be a millionaire $4.98

Not clearance but I saw like 6 copies of Super Mario All Stars Limited Edition for the Wii spider wrapped. Was there a reprint or did these things just lose their value? :p

Reprint. I forgot when they did it.

Caved and bought MvC 3: SE. Couldn't resist the price, and can probably flip it for the same amount later. Plus I'm sure the Ultimate edition that's coming in November still isn't the final version that Capcom intended.

A month later my store still has one last PSP Go as well. Just can't drop it below $140 though...

Found a copy of Marvel Vs Capcom 3 SE for PS3, not sure what i'm going to do with it. If anyone here is having trouble finding a copy and they legitimately want it(as in not to flip but to actually play), send me a PM.

In my area there's four common places clearance sections show up:
- On the back aisle of electronics - it could be anywhere in the area though (including sometimes on the back endcaps of the book/cd area)
- On the endcaps in the area opposite of electronics, usually where the cards/party stuff/candles are
- Mixed in the plastic prisons with all of the other games or mixed in with the "value priced" games section on endcaps
- In a cardboard box near your feet amongst the video game accessories - this is new to me but has been quite a boon since no one else seems to have noticed which allowed me to score a bunch of 75% off games lately

One of the things that helps the most is having a lot of Targets in the area - there's 9 Targets around here and they're all different. Out of all the deal fun to be had on the site, Target clearance is by far the most fun for me as it's the most like a game and it's easy to play on my lunch break one or two days a week.

Wow I don't even have that many Wal Marts in my area. I have two in my town, one 30min in one direction, another about 15 in a different direction, and then a another pair or two about 20min out from those (I live on a peninsula so our directions are limited).

We have ONE Target in my area and then two more about an hour out in opposite directions.

Saw a bunch of digital cameras on clearance at various discounts up to 75% off (one of the DSLR cameras was $12x.xx, regularly $499.99..most others seemed to be around a third off or half off). Not in the market for one, but perhaps someone might be interested. I didn't write down all the makes/models just a bunch of DPCI's, but one of the Flip Videos was $49.98 (regularly $99?). 2 hours HD video.

I believe the DPCI for that one is 056-14-0552

Other clearance cameras' DPCI #s:

056-10-0905
056-10-0697
056-10-0435
056-10-0844
056-10-0765 (reg. $300 now $210)
056-10-0900 (reg. $430 now $215)

These were all in the camera section, with clearance stickers on each of the demo models. Some of the cameras new in box in the locked up glass case below also had corresponding clearance stickers, so it wasn't just the demo/floor models on clearance.

Outside of that, there were individual white original Wii Motes (no motion plus) for $9.98, forgot to get the DPCI for those.
Now where have I seen these games before... http://austin.craigslist.org/vgm/2561121725.html
Why does this imbeciles have $1 in the subject then ask for $29 per game?

I checked sears yesterday to look for some $5 games and was told one guy in
particular went to all the sears in the area and bought all of them. The kicker? The sears employee knew who he was and told me he owned a local game/pawn shop in town. What a prick!
I'm jelly of all of you picking up Tatsunoko vs Capcom for like $8.
Want me to pick you one up when I go tomorrow if it's still there?

I might get it if I see it, though doesn't it require the arcade stick to truly enjoy the game?
There's no price adjustment policy on clearance items. You can check the DPCI number at that Target and if the price is lower now, you could chance a return/rebuy, but you'll have to wait for them to re-shelve it which could take days, so you may lose the thing altogether. Someone did mention a few posts back that he managed to swing a price adjustment on an item, but that's about the first time I've heard someone succeeding at that. Worth a shot then I guess?
Thanks for the reply. :)

I went to my local Target last night (literally 10 minutes before closing time, at 10:50PM) and talked to a really nice supervisor named Katie. She explained to me the price adjustment policy on clearance items and told me I should try to go to some other Target that actually had the game listed at a lower price (I bought the very last one at my store) and try the return/rebuy routine. I then kindly asked her if she could scan my game just to check if it really was listed at $17 something. She did, and after I pointed out the much lower price, she just took me to a register and did an adjustment for me. :applause:

Really sweet girl, she even remembered me from a past purchase. :D

On other news, is Pokémon Pearl worth a buy at $17? Last Pokégame I played was Silver.
I saw atleast half a dozen or more copies there, PM if you want it at cost plus $3 shipping
I would either hit up a BBV for a used one (it's a $15 game there, and qualifies for the B1G1, so you could have it for $7.50) or just get Platinum (the Yellow/Crystal/Emerald of Gen IV).

They also have Tats vs. Capcom for $15 used, so.
