Previous threads:
Target clearance is YMMV, ya dig! Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday, but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, city, state and DCPI #

For example:
Debbie Does Skywalker, Xbox 360, $4.98
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
123-45-6789

Also, a great help when you're posting deals you've found is to check this post and see if your item's DPCI number is already listed. DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself. DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI numbers that are not already in the OP-- thanks! This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing-- often price tags will not be correct. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to Mephitical for this tool for locating clearance titles, which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

The website for locating clearance titles by their DPCI # is here: Find In Store

Much like the ASIN location website replace the DPCI # at the end of the URL...

(HUGE PROPS TO aj slick FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL TOOL!!!)

The lowest known price will be posted. The item could be higher or lower at your store. Numbers in purple are DPCI numbers, which can be used to check the prices of items on newer scanners.

The Legend of EL HOARDO as told by Strell:

No cankle too big and no score too small,
The one and only EL HOARDO.

He'll steal your stash - gonna take it all,
That's the one - EL HOARDO.

He's gonna run down all the aisles
and snatch up all the loot,
And he's feeling really confident
in his nipple protection suit!

Awesome sideburns and a dapper mask
He's at your local store,
Gonna clean out everything
And then go back for more!

Who's the guy in the Star Trek shades?
He's the man they call EL HOARDO.

His boots are secretly roller blades,
There he goes! EL HOARDO!

He's got a cape and it's totally sweet,
A flash in red and white,
Calls his fanny pack his utility belt,
He's ready for a discount fight!

You'd never think he could run so fast,
With a gut of giant size,
Asks all the ladies if they'd like a ride
On his Starship Enterprise!

What's that sound comin' down the lane?
It can only be EL HOARDO.

His stubby legs are gonna bring the pain,
Brace yourselves - EL HOARDO!

He packs a sword, it's a replica,
Like Zorro in disguise,
Gonna leave an H scratched on the wall,
Then he'll move those ten ton thighs!

Knows all the price drops all the time,
Has inhalers to survive,
Lives in a basement at his parents house,
At the age of thirty five!

That's the one who got your penny guide,
The stallion called EL HOARDO.

He's got his Rascal parked outside,
That Man-of-Men EL HOARDO.

EL HOOOOOOOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

"You just got...EL HOARDO'D!" __________________

There have been some confirmed reports of La Whoreda, the female counterpart to El Hoardo. She is obviously more rare in the Target environment since she usually focuses her energy to her Avon business, but caution should still be exercised.

Saw Gears of War 3 Limited Edition. Was $79.99, now $55.98. DPCI 207 22 0593. Passed because I didn't really care for the first game and never played the second.

damn that was quick...have to keep an eye out around here, that COG medal/paperweight looks pretty cool, especially if I can flip my current copy.
Anyone think the AX180s are made kind of backwards? They feel a bit more comfortable with them flipped.
I agree - but unfortunately you can't really use the mic that way :D

LEs tend to clearance quick just because they take up more space in stores. I would think that Target would rather just stock the regular copy, its easier to hold and generally LEs dont get restocks

Picked up a pair of Trittons for $15. The sticker still said $42, but I knew better and got a price check to make sure. Now I just need to figure out why I bought a pair. Already have a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M30s I paid $45 for on Amazon. They're probably better quality. It's just nice to have a backup pair and have one with a mic I guess. And they still had plenty of Trittons and Ear Forces with old clearance stickers on them.
If a store lists "limited availability" is it even worth it to check?
Honestly thats your call. How far is the Target in question, what item are you trying to pick up, is it the item you're vying for or is it just some clearance fodder?

The Target near me that generally does Sunday night drops brought out a gigantic pile of games (including some that had clearanced before). Probably meaningless (they were all tagged with stickers at 19.99 like the usual holiday endcaps), but hopefully it's a sneak preview of what's coming. Not going to list the games off as I know that would cause much confusion, but might be worth swinging by your local store tomorrow.

Saw something simliar at one of my targets too a few days ago.

Don't get your hopes up, it has been months since there were any substantial clearance drops. Unless you like coloring books, that is.

Went ahead and picked up those Turtle Beach X11 headphones for 30% off. There were a few more locked on the rack so maybe I'll get lucky and catch the price drop to 50% or better and return with the old receipt.

Also saw a 1TB Seagate external hard drive, but it was only 15% off so I passed. I did find some big half liter glass bottles of Mexican Coke on clearance though!

I've been enjoying the Tritton ax180's for over month, picked those up for $42 and tried the Turtle Beach x11's for only $30 but decided to stick with the Trittons. They have a better feel on my head, more of a full range of sound (more bass) VS the x11's sound being very "tinny"/trebley. The only thing I really liked about the x11 VS ax180 is that the x11 has a feature where you can hear your own voice through the headset, which the ax180 actually needs more because it's better at noise blocking. The x11 also has a much longer, but thinner cable.
Anyone think the AX180s are made kind of backwards? They feel a bit more comfortable with them flipped.
I actually disagree and think they fit awesome, I like the band being towards the back of my head. The x11's felt really awkward (opposite fit of ax180s) and I had to extend the band completely to fit my head whereas the ax180 I can wear with the band closed and tight.

Grabbed some x11s yesterday at 50% off; was hoping they'd be 75% off today but couldn't find any this morning.

[207-22-0593] Gears of War 3 Limited Edition for $39.98

Sorry if I can't put this in red for I am on a shitty cell phone.

Thats a pretty sick deal on RDR: UN for the X360, i might swing by target later today to check on that one.

I work at Target and was given the clearance for the day. Sitting on top was a copy of Batman AC that was "repackaged" since the spine had a small gash from shipping.. Wasn't bad at all. It was marked as $42.01. Gonna pick it up tomorrow and get Dark Knight on Blu Ray + my employee and Red Card discounts.

Also saw most of the other games posted including Gears 3 LE for $55.xx

My store had a shit ton of new clearance including an elmo wii game and a cookie monster ds game for early childhood if anyone is looking for those for small children. I picked up split second for $10.

As of 6.30pm, Springfield, PA Target (not the one connected to the mall, the older one) had 2 Gears 3 LE's for $39.98 if anyone cares.

Also a lot of PS3 games and a few 360 games. Lots of DS games and a few Wii, nothing that exciting IMO.

1. As an employee, you should not be hiding games from the customers.
2. To get the repackage price, they should have to scan the repackage barcode which should probably exempt you from receiving the Dark Knight on Blu Ray.
3. Almost every game at Target should be marked as repackaged. Anytime I buy a game, the packaging is ruined by those stupid cases.

I don't see him saying that he was intentionally hiding it from customers, maybe the target stocking boy thought showing a damaged game would make the store look run down so to make the gaming case look presentable, he would hide the ugly looking damaged game.

here is a small list of finds today:

:wii:
Family Feud: Decades 9.98

:360:
Split Second $9.98
Shrek: Forever After 24.98

:ps3:
[207-24-0406] TV Superstars 3.74
Tron 7.48
[207-24-0425] High Velocity Bowling $9.98

SWTFU II 13.98

[207-24-0438] MegaMind Ultimate Showdown $14.98

:pc:
Sins Of A Solar Empire $5.06
saw 2 of these the clerk said he thought they were taken out of some bundle as the 2 copies were still sealed, but not in the typical large PC package

This was a repackage game that is to be placed on the clearance end cap. They are definitely not concerned about the looks of items on the clearance end caps.

Just a quick note to apologize for my extended absence in maintaining the thread for the past few months...fwiw I'm back!!!

Please if you can get the DPCI #'s please post them as they are most helpful..especially those CE and LE's....

edit:

I cleared a bunch of the old crap out and got rid of the spoilers but I do like the idea and going forward I will implement the spoilers for the older games....I just thought that this thread got really stale, not much was being updated via the WIKIpost route so let's start building the list back up!

Saw the most clearance at my local store since July.

All PS3:
SW:TFU 2 $14 (207 24 0365)
Hunted $21 or $28 can't remember.
PoP Trilogy $28
Megamind $21
Red Faction: Guerilla $14
TV Superstars $10
Maybe a couple other shovelware titles.

There were some 360, Wii and DS titles but they were garbage.

Will definitely be stalking pop trilogy over the next few weeks.

PoP Trilogy is part of the TRU B2G1 and is priced at $20. If there are other games you want I would check that out instead.

Damn, I'd be all over RDR: UD for under 10 bucks.

My Targets have nothing but 30 buck Turtle Beach headsets :(

1. As employees we can't hide clearance which it isn't.

2. I'm pretty sure its the same DPCI if its repackaged but if not oh well.

3. Only the one in the prison gets slightly bent in on the bottom. The rest are fine.

You act as I cut it myself and begged a manager to give it to me as a repackaged price.

:Rawr: Rock Band 3 is a steal for that price, but 9.98 would be even better. :D
