The Star Trek III (Back from the Dead) Thread

my favorite troy uniform i think was the gray and pink one, was made out of some kinda thin spandex or something.

Once they stuck her in a normal uniform, that show lost any and all sex appeal.

Has anyone else noticed how many discovery channel narrations have been done by trek actors?

I think by the time she put on that uniform, everyone had noticed that she was gaining too much weight so instead they blew up her hair. I seriously found no point in her getting pregnant during season2 episode 1 for 1 damned episode. After that she and everyone else on the ship forgot she had an alien inside her.

I thought she had the kid and it grew up extremely fast, then left or died or something.

But yeah, the normal starfleet type uniform sucked, i think that was only the last couple of seasons at least.

I believe it was a weight issue that caused them to switch her to the standard Starfleet Uniform, but it was explained in canon as it happened during Chain of Command when Jellico took over and demanded she wear it.

Of course, it was always suspect that a Starfleet Officer wouldn't wear a uniform while on duty. Never mind having a counselor on board (which was a regret of the production staff later on, claiming it was "too 80s"). That whole position is fairly weird anyway. The 2nd version of Dax was a counselor, but no counselor was present before her IIRC, and Voyager understandably didn't have one, and that was canon as Janeway stated in one season 1 episode she wishes they had a counselor on-board, but it wasn't necessary on the type of ship they were on.

I always figured a counselor was necessary with the Enterprise being a Flagship with so many missions with different cultures, especially when first contact could occur at anytime.

Anyhow, I think Mirina Sirtis looked better when she was older and a little heavier.

Anyone notice, 1 counselor for 1000+ people! NO SUPPORT STAFF!!

How the hell does she have time to sit on the bridge with those many people in her appointment book?

You know when I was just entering puberty and hormones getting all fired up, I wondered if I was in the turbo lift and Troi entered the lift wearing season's 3 blue outfit, if she could sense I was getting a hard one :whistle2:#

I would imagine that most people are well adjusted in the 24th century and that some counseling for lesser issue could be done via subspace. I'd liken Troi as a morale officer more than anything. Also, the fact she is an empath would probably make it much easier for her to deal with people than a human counselor.

Barkley seems to have been her only regular patient, he was nuts anyway. Honestly, i think her being empathic made her more important than a human counselor would have been.

I think "The Child" and (much later) "Devil's Due" were both episodes that were holdovers from New Star Trek (or whatever it was going to be called) -- the series that was proposed after ST: The Motion Picture but never got off the ground.

Both episodes turned out weird because they shoehorned Next Generation characters into roles that were envisioned for other characters.

It could just be that Marina Sirtis herself asked for a change in the character. Troi was one of the more aimless characters, and "Troi episodes" were usually horrid.
[*]I forget if "Face of the Enemy" was before or after the uniform change [checks -- it was after, but not by much], but that could have pointed to new directions for her character.

[*]One of my favorite moments in the otherwise awful "The Loss", where planar aliens incapacitate the ship and remove Troi's powers, is when Troi exclaims to Data "we have to get two-dimensional!"

You're thinking Star Trek: Phase II.

The Child, The Loss, Night Terrors, Eye of the beholder were god awful Troi Episodes. Oh yea, and that episode where that alien dude passed something to her and she got all sexed up and then got old. Same with that Mind Rape episode.

Anyone remember Tasha's sister? After she had that operation and was wearing that blue skin tight outfit I was like  It would have been intresting if she came on board shortly after but before season 2 and took over for her.

I posted this over in the June Pickup post, but I figured I could also post it here. I recently bought these on ebay.
I've heard that Shatner and Takei don't get along very well.
You know I have heard about problems between Shatner and Takei and you know what? Those two need to fucking grow up! Unless Shatner did something super horrible to Takei, then they need to shake hands and make peace and act like starfleet officers damn it!:bomb:

 A few years ago I saw these in a nice display case in a model shop. When I asked the store employee how much for those (since others were tagged) they
said they are not for sale as one of our employees made them herself. I was ready to say BULLSHIT, but just left after I placed an order for the Republic cruiser model which they claim they could order. Then of course weeks later I get a call saying that they can't order it because it's banned from being imported into the US. A freaking model of a star wars star ship is BANNED from importing in to the US!?!?!? WTF!!!?!?!?!?!:whee:

 That doesn't sound like a shop you should do business with.

Actually the Star Trek ships are from Japanese claw machines, if you want to buy some search for Furuta Star Trek on ebay. Most of them only cost a few dollars, though there are a few rare ones that cost more (like the Defiant, it's about $50 on ebay. The Enterprise E I bought was about $12).

I also have some more that I bought a few years ago, the Enterprise D, Deep Space Nine, the Rio Grande, the Enterprise A, a Klingon Bird of Prey, a Cardassian Warship, and a Borg Cube.
Data as Sherlock on now on Sci-Fi. One of the better season two episodes IMO.
Well I am starting to think that they are showing several episodes of each season every monday. So basically if this holds true, next week will be season 3.

I was right! They are showing a few of each season every monday so now we are on season 3!

and guess what's on now? Yesterday's Enterprise
Season 3 cliffhanger is on.

Man, I forgot how much Commander Shelby annoys me.
Yea I was going to post this but thought no one would notice.

So that means part 2 is next.

Anything Trek will be noticed by me if nothing else.

BTW, is it just me or do they not show TOS in the morning on Sci-Fi anymore? That was what got me going in the morning.

They show TOS around 6am on TV Land. I really wish my local station would STOP randomly changing the schedule to air TOS HD so I can actually sit down and watch it.

Cool. I'll check that on TV Land then. Great way to start the day.
Can anyone point me to a list of the episodes that Picard says "Tea, Earl Grey, Hot"?
:whistle2:s

Why?

btw....

"CAPTAIN I protest......... I AM NOT A MARRY MAN!!!!"
*throws hat down*

God poor Worf... Q takes pot shots at him almost every time he comes to the ship.

I really wish Q would have come back to the station once a season.. his appearance on DS9 during the first season was meh and most.

Did spike knock of voyager now too? My fiancee and I were watching through it (her first time, I've seen the episodes more than I would care to admit). And all of a sudden they're only showing them 3 nights a week at 1 AM

Fixed.

A friend is going to make a montage of "Tea, Earl Grey, Hot"...mostly for our own amusement. I was hoping to save us some time...Ah, well. Guess we'll have to watch the whole series!

Remember to add in some clips of him performing the "Picard maneuver." Thats where he tries to tug down the top of his uniform to smooth it out.

I know for a fact that he says it in

"Child's Play" -Season 6 where picard and a few others turn into 12 years olds.

"All good things..." -Season 7 Series finale when the house keeper asks how he wants his tea and he says "Tea, Earl Grey, Hot"

no way I am going thru all those episodes to find out where he says it :whee:

btw has anyone here ever had friends comment on how Riker in the 3rd-7th season just puts his left leg on the side of Data's station and stands so close to that his croutch is right in data's face?

"The enemy" season 3- Where Geordi and the romulan has to work together to escape a hospitable planet. Picard tells Riker to put on his best poker face.

Actually, I was thinking of making a video of all the Picard manuevers in TNG one day.

I'm not sure. Spike has been doing odd things with their Trek series lately.
spike is back to Voyager a bunch of times a day.
Voy 9am, 4pm and 5pm, 1am
DS9 2am
Seven Days 3am!!! :bomb::bomb::bomb::bomb::bomb::bomb::bomb:

The 1am showings tend to be cut out every few days in favor of CSI or other spike tv show. I know on Thursday and Friday night's there is no trek what so ever.
Yellow is Kirk, Black is Nero
Ah. Thanks. He doesn't really look like Kirk to me. Look more like a Young Picard. Spock looks great though.

I wonder if they're gonna try to recreate the way Shatner spoke as Kirk. I hope not, it would come off as being extremely cheesy.
