Since it's a free weekend, download and try Chivalry to see if you like it. If you don't then get Jagged Alliance.
Game soundtracks are pussy repellents. Just sayin

You can spin the XIII soundtrack and tell hoes that it's some long-lost Isaac Hayes shit that only you have. If they don't know who that is just tell them it's Drake's dad.
I agree with all of this, but would like to amend abe's original post to this: Never listen to video game soundtracks in the presence of a woman, unless you are having coitus and have just orgasmed, in which case you must always play Victory Fanfare. Bitches love Final Fantasy.
We all have different thresholds, I suppose. I've run into a lot of platformers recently that have struck me that way... Adventures of Shuggy, Meat Boy, and even Braid.

I think what it boils down to is that the difficult level ramps up too quickly at one point or another. I just like playing around with the mechanics of a good platformer without feeling like I have to approach ninja skill levels to progress. Or maybe I just didn't find enough that was rewarding at that point in the game? Maybe I was being old and grumpy.

Anyhow, Steam...
You're not a alone mate. You've put into words my exact thoughts about Giana Sisters and many other games of that ilk.

Who cares if we're getting old? I'll see you in the pub later on for a pint of mild and a game of dominoes :D

1000x yes lol

Perhaps in a Something about Mary situation "Cloud's Theme" could be played. Some women prefer mousse though.
Bastion soundtrack was truly excellent. I would listen to that, I think. I tried to figure out if I had it a while back, but I don't think I bought a bundle that included it.
Yeah, Bastion's awesome - both the game & soundtrack.

Some of my favorite gaming soundtracks include:
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines (loved both the licensed music and Womb Music's "traditional" score)
Bastion
Arcanum
Hotline Miami.

So for you trading card mavens out there, a question: do you get the Half-Life 2 drops only from the base game or if I start up Freeman's Wild Ride on Episode 1 or 2, will I get them (wondering because I've already played through the base game)?

Alright, Mr. NinjaishSquirrel. Now I want the Bastion soudntrack even more. I mean, I could *pay* for it, but that seems crazy.

Edit: Got the soundtrack through a kind benefactor. ^_^

I don't think they're dropped for episodes 1 or 2, but you don't even need to play the base game. Just idle at the menu for an hour or more and the cards will drop. I left it running while I went to get groceries or something; did that for each game that drops that I have.

I just don't get the appeal for this game at all. Soccer is already boring, and this game looks like a spreadsheet simulator instead.
I'm glad I listened to your recommendation. I put in about two hours tonight alone. It's been a long time since I had this much fun with a platformer. Great game.
It's not for people like you or I. That said, I know some CAGs with hundreds of hours on it.

Football is boring, the game stops every 20 seconds and games are too long! I agree that the game looks boring.

FC Barcelona anyone?

I'm going to guess it falls in the same sphere as train simulators -- if you have to ask, you'll never really "get it" despite how popular they are with some folks.

Besides, how often does anyone get to link to GetGamesGo as the low price on anything?
I'm going to guess it falls in the same sphere as train simulators -- if you have to ask, you'll never really "get it" despite how popular they are with some folks.
Easier to get into. Train Simulators often have an unstated "beard required" ^_~

Also, football has a massive global following.

Cool recommends. I love vgm. FTL has a pretty rocking soundtrack too. Still need to check out Arcanum, this is the second time I've seen it mentioned for soundtrack.

No doubt. Everyone loves Da Bears, right? :whistle2:\"

Before anyone bothers, my Peruvian-born wife would smack me if she were here.

Given that I sat through a full Superbowl game this year, which went on until Stupid O'Clock in the morning, you owe it me to watch the Champions League final which kicks off in about 45 mins.

Bayern Munich vs. Borussia Dortmund. Two German powerhouses. As a neutral, this should be a cracker.

Heja BVB!

Found it, I'll watch until I have to leave. I do enjoy watching "football" but this will be the first time watching the Champions League final. Hopefully it is a good match.

Vanished from my library too and when I go to the store page it says I own it. Tried clicking the community hub a few times to try to get to the forums but it redirects me right back to the store page for it.
And even cheaper at Nuuvem, but I dunno if posting links from there is allowed.
Nuuvem is legit, it's just in Brazil. From experience, they don't allow you to add certain games to your cart if it's not available in your region, but otherwise I've bought both DRM-free and Steam games from them with no problems (they accept PayPal, and I have my location set as US iirc).
Cool recommends. I love vgm. FTL has a pretty rocking soundtrack too. Still need to check out Arcanum, this is the second time I've seen it mentioned for soundtrack.
Ben Houge composed Arcanum's music.
It was released for FREE by Sierra and Troika when the game came out.
Sierra's gone and so is Troika, so Terra Arcanum (major Arcanum fan site) has it.
Click the link for Ben's page and get the version (MP3 or Lossless) that you want.

I'm probably just really late to the party, but just recently I learned of a couple cool things about Google search. Do a Google search for each of the following for a few "Easter eggs":

zerg rush
do a barrel roll
recursion (click the "Did you mean ____?" result ;))
