The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Out May 19th!

I played on normal to gain my bearings, but before long I felt the need to crank it up to hard. Things just started getting a little on the easy side. I feel like hard provides a healthy challenge if that's what you're looking for.

Finally got to the bottom of the alchemy skill tree last night. Burst bombs are insanely fun.

That sounds amazing. I tend to stick with light armor anyway (Wearing base Feline right now.) Something to look forward to!
Oh man, I might have to dump some points into Alchemy now. I did finally spend all the points I was sitting on, went with Axii, Quen, and Fast Attacks.

That's good stuff, man. I love how many ways there are to approach these games. I always tend to lean into alchemy. It's just so different from the way I usually approach games, and I like using everything I've got at my disposal. I kinda glossed over decoctions and most of my potions early on, but they're really fun. I'm built so that my critical hits land HARD (especially with the proper oil) and stuff like the Katakan decoction make them happen pretty damned often.

Hell, Ekhidna decoction heals you when you spend stamina, and Ancient Leshen increases stamina regen when you cast any sign. You can make quen and igni into heal buttons with barely any cooldown. It's bonkers.

Only points I've got outside of alchemy right now are the Cat perk from the fourth field, and maxed out delusion Axii for conversations. So far, so fun.

Man, this game really needs a storage chest or something. Getting to be a pain managing all the weight especially since I have a lot of relic and rare swords.

Throw away that hoarding mentality. Just sell it or dismantle it.

Going to finally start up Gwent tonight. I played a few games last night and sucked, but I kinda got it.

Man, gwent is awesome for some of the cool cards from gwent quest. I like using the decoy card alot. Hehe! Make sure u talk to merchant and innkeepers in all towns coz they usually sell special cards. I think i have like 4 decoy cards right now.

I wish I would've gotten into Gwent sooner. All I did last night was Gwent missions. It starts out difficult since your starter deck is shit. That's part of the reason I didn't want to get into it at first. But now that I've built up my deck I'm loving it.

Gonna be taking a break from this for Arkham Knight I think. In Skellige now at level 21 so making progress at least...
This sounds about where I'm at. Just running around Skellige doing random quests and finding all the "?".

Not sure if I'm in Act 2 yet or not. Is there some kind of story marker that tells you? I did just about everything in Velen and Novigrad. been in Skellige for a few hours and meet with Yen.

Act 2 begins when you've done everything main story in Skellige & know where the major clue to find Ciri is. There's only 1 area you go to once you collect the clue then it's directly into Act 3 after the events in that area.

Beat the main story on Friday, done only about 1/2 of the content though. Fiddling around with Witcher contracts now.

Beware there may be a glitch that once you progress into Act 2/3 that the Crow's Perch races are no longer accessible so I guess I'm going to miss that trophy.

Damn. I'm not even done with act 1 yet. But I hear act 2 & 3 are shorter. Much like Witcher 2.

I missed the Dandelion card during the party. I hope there's a way to get it later in the game.

Unless it is patched in later, there are several Gwent cards that get locked out. The first inn keeper, the Cards from the masquerade party, and I think that is it.

I really hope it's patched in. I'd love to play more gwent, but at the moment I think I've played everyone I can without going out of my way.

Plan on going through more main story tonight. I've been doing way to many side missions.

So did you do all the Gwent quests? They get you really good cards, the other key is inn keepers who usually have 4 to 5 cards to buy. I just beat the high stakes tournament, that is lose and your out, used save minipulation and it took numerous tries. Sometimes it's the luck of the draw. But my best cards are my heroes, Spies, Decoys, and medic cards. They are key in the tougher matches.

I beat the game last night, what a ride!!! Im sad that its over since I really became attached to some of these characters lol I still have a lot of side quests and contracts to do though. I also ignored Gwent the entire game and somehwat regret that. Im really hoping we get the rumored NG+ mode. Definitely the GOTY for me so far.

My Ending

Ciri is Empress

Geralt and Yen live happily ever after

Radovid is Dead, Temeria is somewhat free

I youtubed "the bad" ending, and man that was brutal, I would've been so depressed if I got that one and it turns out I was one bad choice away from getting it.

Now bring on the Bat. :D

I've been enjoying the game so far. Only level 19 currently and just met with Yen in Skellige. Did most of the quests for my current level. But haven't really did any of the Witcher gear Quests yet.

I need to see if my saved clip of the tournament has all 4 matches. I beat it first try. I only lost 1 match out of my last 100 or so. My NR deck has 8 hero cards, 5 of which are in the front, 2 spies, the shapeshifter that has scorch for the front line built in, the best siege cards, 2 medics, a commander horn plus the Foltest that can put a horn on the siege row, a fog for the Nilfgard/Scoitel matchup, 2 frosts for the Monsters matchup, and 2 scorch cards. 28 card deck.

I'm missing the Mysterious Elf hero spy card and 2 of the Emperor leader cards, plus probably some random ones I don't have yet. I think I have the vast majority of the hero/neutral ones.

I had the exact same ending, although I have the guide so I wasn't in danger of the "bad" ending.

I've finished most of the gwent quests and played all the innkeeps and merchents that I can find. There's the "Old Pals" quest which I cant finish right now. Didn't do the high stakes tourney yet but I do have it in my que. Thanks for the heads up on saving, I'll do that. Sometimes you get a shit hand and can't do much about it.

I'd love to build an awesome Monster deck one day.

The Skellige map is a pain in the ass. Doing all the "?" is going to be a chore, namely the ones out at sea. I'm sick of fighting sirens and drowners at every 2 minutes. It doesn't help that swimming is clunky as fuck in this game.

I haven't played too much. Taking my time and doing something different every night. Last night I was focusing on Skellige side quests and "?" locations. Tonight I plan doing High Stakes Gwent and and horse racing.

I had to give up on the Skellige question marks at sea. I did the majority of the ones on land, but I just did not need that many smuggler caches. I had more money than I could spend by that point anyway.

I'm thinking of only doing the ones on the way to missions. Not going out of my way for most of them.

So last night sirens sank my bost in the middle of nowhere. And then my crossbow glitched and I couldn't use it for some reason. Frustrating as hell.

Oh man, I found myself in exactly that same scenario. Thankfully it only happened once, because hot damn was it annoying.

I've been getting kind of annoyed in Skellige, some of the leveling seems off. For instance, I went to do a level 18 quest(currently 19) and to get to the finish of the quest, I had to do a level 27 quest. This also happened another time when I thought I was in the right place for Witcher Gear and was attacked by a monster over 15 levels above me. I believe it was a vampire but it kept disappearing so I'm not sure.

Whats up with the crossbow glitch? A 7 minute swim to the nearest fast travel point. And fuck those sirens.

But I tell ya, I love gwent. I wish I could win more cards. Can't wait to do the "High Stakes" mission tonight.

Yeah, I was working on a level 16 quest at level 19 and it took me to a cave with level 30 monsters. The balancing is definitely not right.

This game continues to impress. Currently level 22 and just killed a Ice Giant. And I'm heading back to the place to see who becomes king in Skellige.

Can anyone recommend some good armor and swords for a level 22 character. I currently have a sword that's only level 15-16 but does 80% critical bonus, so it's hard to move away from. Also the armor that adds health is hard to switch out also. Still don't have any full Witcher gear, maybe I should work on that? Always seems like I'm not high enough level yet.

Hah, I also did that mission last night at level 22.

One gripe I have is that it seems like I'm way overleveled in Skellige. I got there at level 18 (and just hit level 23 after last night's mission) but almost every quest I pick up there is level 14 or 15 so I'm not getting much if any side mission XP.

That was around when I upped the difficulty on my game. Things started getting a little too cake-walkey for me on the islands. That definitely helped.

I think we were supposed to goto Skellige a lot earlier in the game. After doing all my current level quests in Skellige, I'm now back in Velen, doing the higher quests.

The new patch looks to be adding a few sweet things. I'll be glad to have a separate category for the books and alchemy ingredients not counted as weigh is a plus.

I think this was around the level I got the Enhanched Ursine Armor. You pick up the mission somewhere in Skellige. I had it for awhile.

Just beat it. Goddamn this game was a blast. It's been a while since I played through something this rich.

PLEASE make some kind of Gwent DLC.

Since you just beat it, I'll ask: can you play after the end of the story at all? I'm pretty close to the end game I think and I'm level 25 but I want to be able to wrap up some of the side quests and go for the level 35 trophy.

Just beat the game yesterday maybe 120 or so hours played. I liked a lot of the game, but the game seemed to drag on for awhile. I was hoping when you fought the 1st of the WH Generals on top of that hill was the final boss, but then there was more. I spent a good portion of the day yesterday getting the Ursine swords master crafted since I went with a medium armor, light attack build.

The end was nice and I chose Triss and Ciri because a witcher. I may do a NG+ game, I just wanted to beat this before the Taken King comes out.

I beat the game on death march earlier today. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. I finished the game at level 34. I mopped up a couple of trophies post game to receive a very rewarding platinum. I will probably start NG+ in a couple of months. This is my choice for GOTY so far.

Just finished the game. Gonna skip new game+ and wait for the DLC. Its been a long time since I bought a season pass and the Witcher 3 is well worth it

Even though Steam achievements are currently borked, I still feel pride in completing my Gwent deck this weekend. Totally skipped the mini-game on my first playthrough. Not sure what the hell I was thinking.

Just about two quest away from finishing the game.

It's so good.

Gonna do another play through with NG+ mode on the second hardest one and then when the DLC comes out I will do a DeathMarch play through and hopefully get my first Platinum ever. I heard it is easier on a first playthrough. If I would have known I would have done it for my first.

This is my GOTY for sure. It's so good.

Also I romanced Yennifer. I like her way more then Triss.

This might've already been asked and answered here, but I'd rather not read for fear of spoiling anything. Can I just jump into this one without having played the first two games, or will I be completely lost?
