Uncharted 2: Among Thieves - (use spoiler tags please)
I tried playing this last night and it keep syncing live data for over 20 mins. What the fuck?
That's one of the problems since they updated it apparently. I haven't even tried out my copy I bought the other day as of yet and I'm kinda doubting whether or not I'm going to play it online even if I do play it.

It was pretty annoying. It wasn't never like that before. Maybe it just got hung up. I'll try it again and see If I have any better luck.

It seems like Red Dead Redemption also has issues since their update and/or the recent firmware update from Sony. I kept getting kicked back out to a public free roam after I tried to join a friends' posse the other night about a half dozen times.

Yet I had no issues prior to the update(s).
Isn't that always the case though?
It is. When you really want to play it. There is issues. If you can't and need to do something else its fine or if you don't care about playing it as bad.

Every game i played last night had at least one person drop out of it.
I played at the sanctuary where some turd with unlimited pistol bullets kept sniping me with that gun through walls somehow. Then i saw a whole lot of roman numeral turds still using down the irons and fleet foot. When more than one turd on the other team uses fleet foot it just makes me camp because it is so cheap. Then i got in multiple 3 on 5 games and the turds with 5 players just kept flanking me with snipers and hammer shots galore. I mean really, if you have a 5 on 3 match where 2 turds have down the irons: do the other 3 turds really need a sniper, hammer, rocketlauncher, and pistol? I feel bad cause i think im actually going to put down the irons on today for a little bit do to all the children playing last night.

Almost a little scared to see what this game has become.... Have not touched it since back in October, when it first came out.

Hopefully I still have retained a little bit of those old skills.

Yeah its not as fun but I can still have a blast playing coop and the occasional comp. I would even say that mw2 is better now but noob tubes, knifes, and autoaim make it so that uncharted 2 is still superior. The new maps for uncharted aren't that good and get overplayed. Out of the 5 dlc maps the best one was fort which was free lol. The only gun i have more deaths than kills with is the shotgun and i have also been killed by fists about 200 times more than I have killed with them.

I just finished playing uncharted 2 for the first time. Its a good game dont get me wrong, but i dunno how this won game of the year over games like Assassins Creed 2 or even CODMW2.

The graphics are beautiful, and animations are solid too. But to me it just felt like another tomb raider game. I cant really point out anything this game does better than the last few tomb raider games aside from graphics, and some fluid animations. Maybe certain gameplay parts that have some nice action in it, but they are usually sandwiched between cut scenes and you just lose any involvement you had in the game from that. The puzzles were way easy, while in a game like tomb raider i could get stuck on a puzzle for 10-20 minutes. The climbing was alright, like in any other game i died a few times thinking id be able to grab on to a ledge, but couldnt. Its not as polished as Assassins Creed when it comes to climbing walls. At least i didnt get tired from climbing too many walls like i did in tomb raider underworld.

The controls were good, but i really didnt like the free aim shooting. I dont know why, because in a game like Gears of War it doesnt bother me. Maybe its how loose the analog sticks are on the PS3 controller compared to the 360 analog sticks. The story was alright, nothing too deep. The typical tomb raider style story. I thought it was a bit funny how not only drake could climb walls, make daring jumps, and hang on for his life with one hand. But nearly every character in the game could do such feats. Everyone in this game is a regular lara croft lol. The final boss was just annoying, and a boring boss fight. I got tired of seeing the same cut scene whenever he caught me, and i had to punch him three times to get him to let me go.

Overall this is a beautiful game, and it was fun, but it just feels like tomb raider with better graphics. I still think Assassins Creed 2 was better.
I still think Assassins Creed 2 was better.
I wouldn't go that far, but Uncharted 2 was definitely not as good as the first. My personal GOTY was Demon's Souls, so I didn't think it was that amazingly groundbreaking either.

I was really glad Uncharted 2 beat MW2. MW2 is over-rated. I don't care much for Assassins Creed in general. Uncharted 2 is great, but it could have been even better. Wasn't you the same guy that mocked Uncharted 2 before you had a PS3?
I started playing it again. It isn't as fun as I remember.
That's because they manage to do what's called Call of Shitty syndrome. With each patch they make it worse and they're doing it to appease those kids. They ruined the game.

I had a quote in my sig about how it stole from indiana jones, and stole from tomb raider. I got it from zero punctuation, just thought it was funny.

I agree with MW2, the game had its good parts, but i still liked MW1 better. I hated the DC levels fighting in the streets with houses. Also the Favela levels with tons of houses and every corner had some guy shooting at you. But i just really liked AC2, and i had so much fun playing it. I think it was a step up from the first game, loved how you could build the one city up with the money you gained.

I know Paco. I use to play it and I remember all the changes they kept making.

I remember stuff like that. I remember there was something in your sig,but I couldn't quote it for sure. I just remember something about we really are among thieves. I'm not much of a fps person. I rather play Gears 2 over Modern Warfare 2 anytime. :)

for those of you still playing u2 mp theyre doing a really fun lab thats grenades only. basically the only way you can kill someone is with grenades, which are unlimited, and meles.

new uncharted 2 update:

Title Update 1.09 will be released in all regions on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at about 10:00 AM PDT (what time is that in my city?).
Title Update 1.09 includes the following:
 • Changes made to multiplayer character skin system to allow for voices to be included with future skins
 • Made changes to character game mechanics to prevent players from using exploits
 • Fixed ability for players to “super throw” the treasure in Plunder matches
 • Cash awarded per kill in Elimination has been increased to $750 per kill
 • Enabled the ability for Naughty Dog to easily alter the amount of cash earned for individual Medals on a playlist or gametype basis and per-kill
Thanks to some of the changes above, we’ll be issuing a LiveData update that will rescale Medal cash awards in Objective games ONLY. For matches which fall under the Objective modes, cash for individual and kill-based medals have been decreased in value, while cash for Objective based medals have been increased as follows:
 • Tip Off – $1,000
 • Captured – $4,000
 • That’s Embarrassing – $10,000
 • Protectorate – $2,000
 • No Cigar – $2,000
 • Drop It – $1,000
 • None Shall Pass – $5,000
 • Expansionist – $5,000

Well, BoH's in Plunder are pretty useless. They give you less than $2000 every 5 kills now. Meh. And I thought 1.09 would lessen the kill farmers. I guess I was wrong.

I played it last night and noticed there was a new update. Glad you posted that since I didn't have to search around to see what it changed.
Looks like Uncharted 2 GOTY Edition is releasing in a few months (Oct 12th) for $50. Saw it on Newegg.
Anything different in the GOTY edition versus the vanilla edition? I'm tempted to play through this game again since I picked it up from a closing HWV. However I don't want to have to log out of PSN to start the game, but it appears I'll have to unless I wanna end up being forced to download the online mp patch I have no frickin' use for.

GOTY editions usually are just the normal game plus all the DLCs. If you got the game at a heavily discounted price and bought all the DLCs on PSN then you shouldn't see much of a saves buying the GOTY edition.

On a side note, the GOTY version hasn't been officially announced. So it could just be nonsense on new egg.

What kind of DLC have they released for Uncharted 2 that wasn't online multiplayer based though? If they released some prequel missions for single player or something else to add to the offline story I'd gladly buy them.

The only thing out is new maps, online-co-op, and player models for online play.

They probably would add Eye of the Indra motion comic. Though its not saying much for less than an hour of decent back story. But no SP DLC.
My friend and I waited around 7-9 minutes to get into a deatmatch game til we finally stopped trying.

Sucks.
it can get slow at times which seems odd to me and occasionally i get in games where it freezes at the loading screen so i have to dc my internet to get out of it.

Only had that happen one time.

I've had it count down and at 1 second left it was stuck there.
Why won't 1.09 download?

It just restarts my PS3.
I've had that problem before with various games. It did it on me for Rock Band 2 several times. I ended up trying it again at a later time. I'm not sure what causes it to do that.

Over on the PlayStation.Blog, we revealed that there’s some more UNCHARTED 2 downloadable content to be released on the PlayStation Network Store next week – a multiplayer skin pack with eight new skins and a PS3 Dynamic Theme. If you’ve been reading our community forums, you probably found out about the multiplayer skins a few weeks ago, but now it’s official and we’ve got a release date for you—Tuesday, August 17, 2010.
There’s been a ton of requests for all kinds of UNCHARTED 2 DLC up on our community forums (feel free to add more!), so that’s exactly where we headed when we were looking for ideas for our next set of multiplayer skins. After a little group decision making, we settled on these eight skins for the UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves Sidekick Skins Pack:
 • Heist Chloe
 • Borneo Chloe
 • Borneo Sullivan
 • UDF Sullivan
 • Winter Sullivan
 • Wetsuit Elena
 • Dillon
 • Mac
You can check out a selection of screenshots featuring these multiplayer skins in our Flickr set.
Also available on the PlayStation Network Store that day is the UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves Dynamic Theme for your PS3. You can get a good look at the Dynamic Theme in action in the video embedded below.

I want that theme. Might as well get the skins even though I'm not extremely interested. I didn't see a price for any of it unless I overlooked it. I just glanced at it.

i think its gonna be 2.99. 2 of those skins look pretty cool but the dont have voices which kind sucks to me but yeah i dig the theme too. yeah so the pack of skins and the theme are 2.99 each.

Sooo I have been playing CO-OP with a friend and getting slightly bothered. When grabbed the game tells you to spam triangle, which does nothing. Why? Why tease me so?

If you press triangle many times fast enough, you can break out of the hold on your own rather than relying on someone to free you.

OMG I thought I was pressing fast. Geeze.

If that's even true, you'd have to have a turbo controller. It's physically impossible to do it manually because I've never broken free no matter how hard I tried. It did seem to slow down the choke-out time, though.

You can't break out of the hold. Pressing the button only slows it down to give your teammate(s) time to get to you.

big event happening saturday only which will make leveling up very easy.

http://www.naughtydog.com/site/post/uncharted_2_one_year_anniversary_event_details/

The UNCHARTED 2: Among Thieves One Year Anniversary Event will run a FULL 24 HOURS from Saturday, October 16, 2010, at 12:01 AM (what time is that in my city?) through Saturday, October 16, 2010, at 11:59 PM (what time is that in my city?).
We will be running a special, one-day only episode of “The Lab” on October 16, featuring a compilation of the most popular previous episodes of “The Lab” based on your votes.

The “Best of… The Lab” playlist will rotate through the following gametype variations:
All of the gametypes will be played on the following maps:
 • The Plaza
 • The Sanctuary
 • The Temple
 • The Train Wreck
Looking to hit level 60? Or level 80? This is absolutely your day to get a massive leg up on your run to the highest levels of the game. We’ve lifted the cash cap in ALL playlists – that’s right, NO CASH CAP. Period. But that’s not enough to celebrate our anniversary! For only these 24 hours, we’ve opened the floodgates and you’ll be getting 5x cash in all playlists, all day!
If that isn’t enough, all weekend you’ll have the option to equip an exclusive Anniversary Nathan Drake skin for multiplayer. If you play on our anniversary, you’ll have this skin available to you permanently. As soon as the clock strikes midnight and Saturday rolls into Sunday, the skin will be no longer available!
We’ve made sure to have plenty of Naughty Dog staff online over nearly the entire 24 hour anniversary period playing EXCLUSIVELY within the “Best of… The Lab” playlist. Most of the Dogs will be clustered around the primetime playing hours of 9:00 AM PDT (what time is that in my city?) through 9:00 PM PST (what time is that in my city?).
You can recognize official Naughty Dog employees by the red paw next to their PSN ID displayed in-game – if they don’t have the paw, they’re not a Dog, simple as that.
We have a roster of Dogs playing on October 16 over 30 deep representing every department at the studio:
Andrew O.
Anthony N.
Arne M.
Benson R.
Brenden Q.
Brian R.
Christian G.
Conner M.
Damon A.
David B.
Dustin K.
Evan W.
Jeff S.
Jerome D.
John B.
Justin R.
Kion P.
Kurt M.
Lee D.
Lizz M.
Mark B.
Matt R.
Michael H.
Mike H. #1
Mike H. #2
Ricky C.
Robert C.
Rodney R.
Shawn H.
Thomas W.
Travis K.
As a special treat, and a test of our endurance, both Robert C. and I will attempt to play for nearly the entire 24 hours of our anniversary event. Let’s see how far we can make it through the day!
We hope to see many of you online during our Anniversary event—we’ve had a tremendous year with UNCHARTED 2 in every way possible and we couldn’t have done it without our fan community.

Thanks for the heads up on this Lokizz. I've been thinking of playing some more of this and been hoping for a deal on DLC. I'll try to play it for this event.
