V Series Debut: SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER to SPOILER on ABC 11/3!

I miss the voices and I'm waiting to see what their guns sound like. I did think the second episode lagged, I was telling my girlfriend I think I'm comparing it too much to the miniseries and am wanting some action already. It's sometimes hard to let it stand on it's own and let it build up.

Yeah definitely REALLY cool about the suits. I'm still not sure what they eat yet but Lisa met Tyler for some Pizza
so I'm assuming they eat normal food but you never actually see her eat, sooooo.......:whistle2:k.

Can't wait for some EPIC Alien/Human laser battles :twoguns::twoguns:.
 
very good epsisode.
Just finished watching it. Some nice little twist moments.
Still wish it was on Sci-fi or HBO/Showtime though :(
 
someone mentioned FlashForward a while back and I think that so far I think this show is better than FF. Of course it's only been like 3 eps but FF has some consistency issues that make the story telling in Back to the Future and Terminator (even with 3 and 4) look positively cogent. I think V might have some issues (aside from some insipid characters) but so far they haven't popped up yet.
 
Man, I just can not get into this show at all.

I dont know, there is something about there not being enough espionage, recon, intel gathering going on. The 2 or 3 "missions" they have gone on so far have been a breeze apparently with never little planning on there part. I am not liking how easy everything is for them......type in John V in the super fed latop, walk casually to the warehouse full of V crap...type some stuff and boom.

Every scene that contains the son and the space girl is annoying and forced to the point where I have to fast forward through it.

I really dug these 4 episodes. fucking retarded that it's not back until March. I just don't get the point of doing that, vs just starting the series in February.
 
How can anybody fast forward through the scenes with the hot young blonde?

I am hoping that alot of things were rushed in the first 4 episodes was because ABC didn't know how well this show would do in ratings and with it's huge budget. That or they are not going to treat this show like a Cable show and cut out all of the filler and just have 13 episode seasons.
 
I can't wait until March. I think if they keep advertising it the show will do good when it comes back.

And damn, that blond V chick is fine. The V leader ain't too bad either. Neither is the main character. ;)
 
Did anybody else think it was really stupid in the last episode to have.....
The Charley guy confront the "V" professor alone in the parking garage after he said what he wanted to do to him?

That twist about the V scientist/doctor was really a great turn around, really liked that in the episode, was not expected at all!
 
I'm thinking these first few episodes was just a glorified prequel. When it comes back, they'll probably have a huge eventful episode to rebuild what loss they had from taking a break, and then the pacing is going to slow down like crazy and have episodes focus primarily on one event instead of having like 3-4 subplots. Nobody cares about V dude's pregnant girlfriend or the emo kid and especially not his idiot friend. The priest is a wasted character. They don't even explore him. They just have some uneccessary kung-fu scene every other episode to remind us the priest can fight. A typical melodramatic "struggle," will he walk the path of god? Will he turn his back on the lord and open some cans of whoop-ass? Will he fall down an open manhole and save the show from such formulaic bullshit?

So far the show is okay, but it's nowhere near in the league of Lost, etc. Jericho started similarly (felt a little too hokey and melodramatic), but it broke free around episode 4 or 5 and was excellent to the finish. I think V is going to be stuck in that 1st gear and never get out of it.
 
I'll agree that so far the priest is a wasted character, and his 'action' last episode was kinda weak but I still think he can pull out of it (as a character).

The boy is an idiot. don't like him as a character not a fan as an actor. His friend is barely a character I don't know why we're even commenting on him. That's like commenting on the FBI director.

The V girl is kinda hot. I sometimes worry I'm becoming racist against skinny white girls but she's not ugly, and I like her a lot more than the boy so whatever.

I rarely give up on shows. Last two shows I stopped watching were Desperate Housewives
3 seasons and then w/o my girlfriend I just didn't feel up to it
and Smallville
1.5? seasons but I figured it wouldn't last so I didn't want to get attached.. boy was I wrong
still I would drop V like a bad habbit if necessary. I'm thinking about dropping Flash Forward but so far V isn't that bad.
 
this past episode was ok i like the route theyre taking with the mother/son story leading up to some form of confrontation ( maybe even turning in his mom). that said am i the only one who thinks its a bit odd that
the mom uses her fbi latop and does searches and stuff on it in plain view of her kid? makes me wonder if they actually do that and if they do wouldnt you put it in a safe place where only you hae access to it ( like the way that guy did in jericho).

im also glad they didnt drag out the whole

Yeah commercials suck. I just caught the refresher episode to bring me back up to speed on the 1st 4 episodes. They been bombarding the fuck out of the original series on SYFY too.
 
I didn't think the casting was bad. Sure they could have done better and some of them they should have not casted. Maybe they will kill some of them off. I would have watched this last night but was watching it on Sci-Fi and didn't evne know the new one was on. Guess I will check hulu or some other place.

the casting for the show is pretty bad. they didnt need name brand actors but they could have found people that looked better in the roles they were in. plus cmon no michael ironside? at least 1 person from the original series should be in this one. that said the show still has promise i just hope in this series when people kill the v's that they pick up their damn weapons and use them.

last nights episode was pretty damn good compared to how the series has been. the lead chick is still very annoying but everyone else was better and the story kept moving at a good clip. the
ending sex scene was odd as shit. i cant tell if they made it look that way because they wanted to get across how utilitarian the process of sex is for them or if they wanted to keep it as simple as possible to not piss of the fcc but mn it ws odd. cool ending to it though sucks that the guy didnt at least get in one good motor boat or squeeze the charmin.

heres to hoping the series keeps improving that way it has.
 
I have a strong feeling this show is going to be canceled by the end of the season or not make it to a season finale and then be put on dvd/br with NEVER BEFORE SEEN EPISODES! (NO SHIT BECAUSE THE NETWORK DECIDED NOT TO AIR THEM!!!)

The show isn't really catching my attention and I actually fell asleep during the last 10 minutes of it. Between breaks I was flipping back and forth between this show and Grand Turino (sp) on HBO.

thats why i said it was odd. whether it was done on purpose or acident i dont know but ill give the the benefit of the doubt. that said it sucks that so many people arent as into it. maybe the show should have started with the invasion and resistance agains the v's already in progress.

then you could just pepper the show with flashbacks of things as they happened during the initial invasion while keping the action up and running. thats always the curse of any remake if people already know whats going to happen how can you make it interesting for the and everyone else to watch again. on top of that the original show was more of a soap opera than a sci fi show with all the infighting between the hott alien chicks.

I had a thought while watching the show, could
the pregnant girl possible be an Visitor as well as the black guy? Hence how she got pregnant. Though she seems to be surprised by the side effects of the pregnancy, it could be that she is just doesn't know because she is a 1st timer.
Just a thought.

I think the break after only 4 episodes(or the 10PM timeslot) didn't work in the shows favor. I will give this show a chance and continue to watch. They definitely have been advertising alot for the show so hopefully they have something strong in store for the show.

shes human but those pregnancy side effects were pretty funny. im kinda hoping for a violent birth ala aliens chest burster but i dont see that happening but it could be cool.

the hiatus definelty hurt the show i still dont undertand the reasoning behind it but i do hope it picks up or at the very least they cancel it and a capable network decides to pick it up. a number of great shows have gotten new life on cable networks. i could see syfy picking it up.

From what I read a while back, their intention was to air four episodes at a time, with breaks in between.

I was thinking along the same lines. Though it doesn't seem that the V's give birth that way, so
I doubt an hybrid would get a chest burst. Also I might have misheard something but did Anna want to a Hybrid created?

If they go about that route, I don't think the show will make it past the second break, especially in the 10 o'clock timeslot.

Yeah, Flashforward took a big step forward when it came back a couple weeks ago. And I was about ready to give up on it in the fall.

V didn't, that was a pretty dull episode.

I don't think the cast is that bad, nor any worse than that in Flashforward though. Joseph Fiennes and John Cho are fucking terrible on Flashforward. Rest of the cast is pretty solid though, shame those two dominate the screen time.
 
Well tonights episode seemed pretty predictable, to me at least.

The only thing I didn't see coming was
when the security guy following Ryan turned out to be part of the 5th column. I thought that the he(security guy) was going to just end up being killed by the Joshua, to protect Ryan.
 
I had completely forgot about this show for a while until I caught it last night. This show is fucking lame.

They dont seem to know what they want to focus on, making me care so little about most of the people in the show. The Son is completely pointless, no one cares nor will care about him, his dad or his love interest of a V. All of those people can be cut.

I know that the black guy having a baby with a human was part of the first show but it doesnt seem to work in this one at all. If humans could be killed by talking the Vs would be masters of the planet by now. All they ever seem to do is talk about this grand plan but never seem to do anything exciting since trying to trick the humans into flu shots. (the plant blowing up was the only thing exciting that has happened so far) The pacing is just so bad and the dialouge is so drawn out.

This is a show I might catch on a marathon some bored sunday afternoon.
