Nice case... wtf is on the disc?

Complete with cardboard disc.
I'm thinking nothing.
Should I get my hopes up for some tmnt 2, and 3 on nes. Also Iv on snes that would be awesome... maybe one day...maybe one day...
I'd like to see TMNT 3 and the genesis one myself since I've barely played either of them compared to TMNT 1 , 2 and 4.
Dude said that the disc was made out of cardboard.
I did the exact same thing. I completly tuned out the part that said the DISK was cardboard.

I expected Parasol Stars to be on the virtual console already... I'm pretty shocked it isn't. My roommate and I were playing Bubble Bobble tonight, I started telling her how awesome Parasol Stars was, tried to download it but couldn't find it... unfortunate. That's my #1 pick.

For those who can't figure it out, send an email with the following games:
EarthBound (SNES)
Super Mario RPG (SNES)
[wild card, but make it good]
[wild card, but make it good]

My wild cards are EarthBound (NES), Super Mario All-Stars (SNES), and something else... can't quite decide.
I don't think asking for LoZ:MM will do any good, they probably have that waiting for a special day.

Ya know, I thought that it's a pretty good idea until I read this.

What classic games do you want to see come to Virtual Console? Send us up to five picks (only for systems currently represented on Virtual Console) at [email protected]. We'll print results in an upcoming issue. Note: This is for polling purposes only, and will in no way determine future Virtual Console releases.

Hm ya, I agree with Boo.

I'm still waiting for Aerobiz/Aerobiz Supersonic, along with Zombies Ate My Neighbors (wasn't that already rated like in early 2007?)

I emailed:

Earthbound SNES
Super Mario RPG SNES
Final Fantasy 3/6 USA SNES
Shining Force 2 Genesis
Chrono Trigger SNES

I hope any of those games come soon :D

Even if it isn't official, would it really kill you to take 2 minutes to send an e-mail? There's no harm in doing it. Maybe Nintendo will take notice when something like Earthbound has 80% of the vote because of people like Starmen.net.

Or maybe you waste 2 minutes of 100,000 humans -- 3,300 man hours that could have been put toward curing cancer. If anyone I know ever dies of cancer, I'm blaming you and your stupid video games.

At first I didn't realize that Nintendo Power's publisher is named Future US. I thought NP had created a domain name just for the express purpose of gauging what American gamers wanted for the VC!

Here were my picks:

1. Chrono Trigger [Super Nintendo Entertainment System]
2. Earthbound [Super Nintendo Entertainment System]
3. Samurai Shodown [Neo Geo]
4. Smartball [Super Nintendo Entertainment System]
5. Double Dragon II [TurboGrafx-16]

The first three are no-brainers. The fourth, Smartball aka Jerry Boy, is a personal favorite of mine but is unlikely to show up on VC because it was made by Sony. If you've never heard of it, here's a good tribute page: http://www.disgruntleddesigner.com/chrisc/JBTribute/index.html. The fifth is the TG16 port of Double Dragon II, which is probably the best home port we've ever had of the game.

If I had more space, I'd probably add Sengoku 2 to the list, a great Neo Geo beat'em-up from its heyday.

Yeah because the answer for curing cancer is to have 100,000 people work for 2 minutes. That reminds me of the Infinite Monkey Theorem, only on a smaller scale.

By the way, typing up that response wasted 2 minutes that you could have been putting towards curing cancer. this

I could build a castle with all of the irony in this statement.

If you're going to be that ridiculous, you shouldn't be allowed to post. Or on the internet.

Oh my god , someone else remembers smartball. The pics don't look like I remember though.

I will defend you, for what it's worth. Your post made me laugh, which is why the Internet exists. To make me laugh.
Oh my god , someone else remembers smartball. The pics don't look like I remember though.
It may be the screenshots with humans NPCs throwing you off. The village sections were completely removed from the American release. Everything else is pretty much the same.

If you're going to be any less ridiculous than me, you shouldn't be allowed on the internet.

You read a post from a gamer that ended in "your stupid video games" and took it seriously. This is a problem, sir. This is a problem.

I'm really sorry I called you out for being a total idiot.

That was wrong of me. Especially when the best you can do is say the same thing back to me.

You know, I'm rubber, you're glue. I remember doing that in elementary school. Which is about how old you are, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

See, to go back and just claim you were joking is a funny tactic, because it's obvious you're not smart enough to set up traps like that.

You purported that I am too ridiculous, I purported that you are not ridiculous enough. I see no rubber, I see no glue. This is a gentleman's duel.

Monday's VC Releases

Yoshi's Cookie (NES)
Bases Loaded (NES)

Let the whining commence!
This is where I start to wonder if they like money. There aren't any big releases for a while besides Mario Kart Wii and that one big announcement from Reggie. The virtual console games would be really easy money, and even the B titles would make people buy them.

This has been brought up many times, and as the situation stops changing I'm getting closer and closer to emulating games Nintendo doesn't want to make money on. Hey Nintendo, let me know when you want your money for Earthbound, because until then I'll be playing it for free... How can a company be so money grubbing (see GBA->GCN link cable, E-Reader) and still not want money off of the Virtual Console?

Yoshi's Cookie (NES)
Bases Loaded (NES)

If this is real, there will be no whining here. Yoshi's Cookie was third on my list (behind Dr. Mario (thank you WiiWare) and Tetris 2) when I initially heard about the VC. If confirmed, I might even duck out of work for a while to download and play on Monday I'm so excited.

Would you guys stop with the Nintendo doesn't want money stuff because guess what? Doesn't matter what the game is, someone somewhere is going to download it. I'm personally excited for some Yoshi's Cookie.
Now I know that Yoshi's Cookie has already been released on the US VC.
Yoshi, another puzzle game, is out on the VC, but not Yoshi's Cookie if I'm not mistaken.

No doubt they gain money off of even the "crappiest" games by someone who has poor taste or likes the game for some other reason. Or maybe even someone takes a blind guess that they'll like it. But with EarthBound, Nintendo would no doubt make more money than with Yoshi's Cookie or DK Jr. Math. There are lots of diehard fans on starmen.net that would do anything to show Nintendo they love Earthbound and want Mother 3 translated. (although now it's getting useless since the fan translation is getting closer and closer to completion and is less of a pipe dream) That is where my argument comes in.

Are you serious? I knew probably 50 people with an NES, and at least 25 of them had Yoshi's Cookie, the other 25 played it at friends' houses. I constantly run into adults who remember it fondly. These are the people who strayed from gaming for a while, only to be brought back by the casual nature and nostalgia of the Wii. Of all the people I knew who had NES/SNES, you know how many had Earthbound? Of course you do; Zero. The reason it is a niche game and has gained in legend is because no one had it and no one played it. The bulk of the Wii audience would not care if it became available.

Me? Yes, I want it and would buy it and play it, but I couldn't even really recommend it to most of the adult Wii owners I know. Yoshi's Cookie on the other hand... Many of them have been waiting for it for a while already.

I said it in a previous topic, and it still remains apt, that Nintendo in general, and third parties specifically are more then likely very much against the release of A+ Quality titles, particularly ones like Earthbound which may have people engaged for a very long time, on the virtual console. Simply from a business perspective, if you release higher quality games at lower prices on the VC, people will see no reason to, and will cease, purchasing full prices Wii titles. You simply cannot have your auxiliary titles on the Virtual Console outshine the full priced Wii games. Maybe three or four years down the line we'll start seeing your Earthbounds, your Mario RPGs, amongst others, but for the time being, we're going to be stuck with the less popular titles.
Isn't Bases Loaded a decent game?
I never played Bases Loaded, but Bases Loaded 2 is a game that my friends and I still go back to. When you remember your favorite fake team and players from 20 years ago, it's all good. Just glad to see that BL2 will likely show up since this is the first Jaleco game released.

i love the original bases loaded. if you want to hit the ball every time, watch the catcher's mitt. that's another nostalgia purchase for me.

Bases Loaded is a great game. I'm always Jersey because of good pitching, Ace, and a killer 3-4 punch, Bay and Paste. I'll pick this one up if it comes here.
Why not release the SNES version of Yoshi's Cookie instead? Weird.
That's what I was thinking!
Why not release the SNES version of Yoshi's Cookie instead? Weird.
Because if they released the better version first, nobody would buy the lesser version when it came out. This way, they can release the SNES game later and some people might still buy it since it's slightly superior.

Actually, no. That would be too smart. Real answer: they hit the NES version on their giant dartboard.

Actually, I was kind of thinking that they probably expect to sell more of the NES version due to its lower price point. They did the same with Wario's Woods at launch time.

I was thinking that too.

Edit: Actually it was also partly because I didn't even remember that yoshi's cookie and Warios Woods HAD SNES versions.

I got bored so I updated everything. (This weeks titles, plus Japan & Europe's titles last week)

..So when are we getting Everybody's Nintendo Channel?
When that comes we'll get DS downloads too, right?
This is correct.
What I don't get is, this has been in Japan for awhile now. I don't even know what DS demos are up and available..and how many they've added (and taken down)

Does anyone have this info?

Might wanna know that Cheetahmen was an April Fools' joke.

If they're going to put out the old baseball games, I'm sort of hoping for Nolan Ryan's Baseball, and the one with the robots that you could fight with, Base Wars I think.
