Some notes
  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.
On Xbox One, Gold trials of any length work for sales and Games with Gold.  You must be an active Gold subscriber (paid or trial) to play Games with Gold purchases.
  • On Xbox 360, you must have at least a 1 month Gold subscription for sales and Games with Gold.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.

Completed in mechanical recently. The one achievement I had Tribble with was Nothing But Net. I misread ot and thought I had to fly for 3 seconds but the coal has to fly for three seconds. Took me like 20 tries. That and the one you have to do 4 loops. I kept getting 3 and then sputtering out.

Also I suck at float the object through the magnetic field. I'm not sure the physics of those magnetic fields is realistic.
yeah the loops suck, was able to get it but balancing on your head is also tricky, the puzzles seem pretty interesting, again for 2.50 I think its worth it

Say what now?
In Unmechanical your character is a copter-bot and there's an achievement where you throw a piece of coal into a basket of fire. You can complete that portion of the game and progress by putting the coal in the baskey any old way, but to get the achievement it's supposed to be a nothing but net shot. The achievement description says "flying for 3 seconds." I thought that meant I had to fly around with the coal for 3 seconds before making the shot. It turns out the shot has to have 3 seconds of air time. In fact, 3 seconds of air time is more important than the nothing but net. Users have reported doing a self alley-oup or banking the shot and still popping the achievement.

If anyone is interested in the Fable cards game you should log each day.

To celebrate we’ve added log in bonuses for all players! Log in each day until March 1st for a free card pack, double experience towards Hero levels AND an Epic Renegade Leader Card

Finally started far cry primal. Always put it off since getting it for my birthday two years ago shortly after release. Never really felt like I'd be into it without the guns but it's basically a reskinned far cry which doesn't surprise me I guess. Enjoying it so far, but hoping it doesn't burn me out if I decide to get far cry 5 on release. Just wish it wasn't pushed into march since I probably won't get it as a gift now and it's coming out the week I'm back from vacation.

Has anyone played the Bioshock Infinite's DLC on the Xbox One successfully? All of the DLC shows up on my ready to install list but they are all at 87mb each. I can't seem to find a way to download the actual DLC with the right size. With the season pass installed, going into the game and "downloading" the DLC just adds it to the ready to install list where it's listed at 87mb. It's driving me insane!

Lots of people whining about this but if it's good content, then... good?

This. I don't understand why there are so few trials and demos available. Considering it's so hard to rent games without Blockbuster or Hollywood Video around (Redbox carries next to nothing and finding a box near you with a game they do carry that you want can be a drive, and last time I used Gamefly I'd wait months for games at the top of my queue to be available to ship) it's just stupid. I'd buy more games if I knew for a fact I'd enjoy playing them, and the only to know for sure is to actually play it. So I spend very little on games.
Between Game Pass and free trial weekends, the infrastructure is clearly there for time-limited demos. A game like Monster Hunter could give a 10 hour trial and you'd barely scratch the surface.

Get the state of Rhode Island to put a referendum on the ballot for this fall - should the Xbox 360 version of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning be made backward compatible on the Xbox One gaming system?
That would be great, but never gonna happen.

It would not make enough rich people that much richer. So, not gonna happen.

My question would be, is this content included with the season pass or is it the royal edition??? I currently have a disc copy of FF15, but I could trade it in for about half the cost of the digital premium edition on xbox live right now.

I am fine with leaving it in my back log until all the episodes come out and i can make one complete run through the game. I do wonder if this is going to fall under the season pass, a new season pass, or require individual purchases.

It's not part of the Royal Edition or the season pass. Both are clear that they include the first initially planned DLC episodes for each respective party member, along with the MP update, etc. This is more like a second season of DLC, which wasn't originally part of the planned content.

Sounds like it's going to address events before the main game, or events which occur
during the 10 years Noctis is inside the crystal and the world basically ends and slips into ruin.

Personally, I'm totally fine with it. The Royal Edition is more like the complete game which ideally should have been released at launch, especially with character swapping since it apparently adds a lot more dynamics to combat, and this new content being planned is like a stretch goal. Mostly, I'm just happy to see a single player game get so much support.

Looking at getting a 55 inch 4k TV. Any recommendations? I know I have seen some posts here before.

If you are buying on a budget TCL P605/607, can't beat it for the price.
My research says this, but I don't actually have one yet. Only caveat is that new models release this spring and the 6 series (replaces P series to avoid confusion with Vizio's P series) was the darling of CES with fifteen or so more local dimming zones and some other improvements while it apparently will be priced the same as last year's P series. Also, it will have a 65 inch version. If you can wait until a little bit (no release date yet) you may get a little more bang for your buck. I have a birthday 10% off regular price item code a Best Buy I was going to use on a P series, but I think I'm going to hold off for the 6 series. Now, what to use the 10% off code on? Lots of exclusions including consoles and it negates GCU...

I purchased the 605 this past September once the 65” was scraped. If I can build up enough credit I might get the 65” 6 series as a 65” is really what I wanted.

The picture is amazing on the 605 though. I watched Planet Earth 2 4k blu and it’s probably the best visual I’ve ever seen on a screen. I’m sure it would look even better on a more well reviewed expensive tv but for the price of the 605 it can’t be beat.

I agree though, if the 6 series is as well reviewed when it comes out at around the same price points you should wait.

Cag on mobile only shows the desktop version for me now, anyone else have this issue?
No but if you scroll to the bottom there should be a “Use Mobile Version” that should fix it. Maybe you accidentally clicked “Switch to Full Version”?

Does Microsoft ever give generic discount coupons for Xbox Live (i.e. 20% off your order, like Sony does for the PlaystationStore)?  Got a cheap copy of FarCry Primal and thinking I'd like to pick up the DLC someday, but would hate to pay more for that than I did for the game!

Seconded. Amazing TV. Also last I checked Best Buy had it for less than Amazon.

Thanks everyone for the recommendation. I ended up getting an LG 55uj6540 because of the price and it had all the inputs I was looking for. So far it looks pretty good.

The reason ya'll bought an XBox One X is coming out next week. Turok 1 and 2! Each $20! Fog! Dated platforming! Everything you want!

Somebody CSI rotate that photo so we can see the spines of the other game cases. Or use a reflection off the backdrop.

That's one of the ugliest games I've ever seen running on an X1. I don't see the point in this if they're not rebuilding the game, ala Shadow of the Colossus

Those look more like 360 cases than XB1 cases.
ROTTR did come out on both consoles, so it could be the 360 version.

I keep flip flopping on getting Agents of Mayhem. The price is right, but it'll go right into my backlog from Hell & I have a feeling that it may go GWG before I even THINK about playing it.

I spent a ton of hours with Turok as a kid but have no desire to go back unless they remake it with HD graphics and improved levels, etc.

Those are all XBO cases unless they are the rebranded 360 releases that are in XBO cases.

Re: the Game Pass twitter post: there’s also Lego Batman on the 12 month card, and I’m pretty sure that’s not on Game Pass at the moment. Looks like the cover of the first game.

Edit: never mind. I’m a dope and it’s late and a few seconds looking at the GP list online showed me I’m wrong. Carry on.

They were mediocre even back in the N64 days. I can't even comprehend it being someone's favorite franchise.
I cannot imagine the original game has aged well at all in any respect but I watched a video review for Turok 2's PC port and it has aged much better. I won't be paying $20 for them but I might revisit the second one if it goes on Game Pass eventually.

EDIT: Here's the review of the PC port I mentioned-

Although I was never a fan of the Turok games, I find it interesting that nobody seems to be fawning over this upcoming release when they are no worse than something like Battletoads. Maybe the recent glut of retro releases has finally killed the general nostalgia for old games that no longer hold up.

Give it another 5 years, it's still a little early for 90's nostalgia. I also think 8/16bit gfx age better than early 3d.

I bought a 360 because of Turok, but I thought it was co-op and I think I got bored around the second or third level. Whereas 1&2 I beat on n64, and I have zero desire to beat my head against that wall of terrible fps platforming again.

Because majority of FPS and 3D games in general just don't hold up in the N64 and PS1 era. Back than they basically were still trying to figure out the template and also the hardware limitations (see endless fog in Turok) didn't help matters either.
