I went on to DL the trial of Spelunky after seeing things on it but didn't even bother once I saw it was 1200 points. Am I alone in having assumed a game like that was surely going to be 800?

Maybe it was the recent flap with the pricing of Fez. I don't know but I did not expect 1200 from what I saw of Spelunky.
I think we were all expecting it to be 800 MSP... Still worth it for 1200 IMHO.

I bought it this afternoon and have been enjoying it quite a bit.

Not sure if it was mentioned or not, but is there any different between Ninja Gaiden Black and Ninja Gaiden Sigma? To install it on the XBox 360 as opposed to my ever decreasing storage space on my PS3 would be nice, but only if Black is the better version.

NGB is seen as the better version. A lot of people hate the sigma's because they took away mass enemies and in its place put minimal enemies with beefed up health. IMO IIRC FWIW I don't remember if NGS took away blood but NGS2 did and put purple mist and I think also took away limb removal which pretty much spawned what we now know as NG3

Graphically sigma is better but black has rachel missions.

I've been playing the trial for Spelunky for the last 3 hours, and it's honestly the most fun I've had with a game in forever. I think I just might make Spelunky my first 1200msp purchase.

I just couldn't wait for a sale on Spleunky....I bought it at full price this morning. Do yourself a favor and just get it now. It's great.

Aliens vs Predator is sale of the day (is this a forever thing thatd be great) for $15. a lot of hate on this game, but as a fan of the franchises since childhood, i still liked it.

**anyone buying this and wants to pick up the swarm map pack, ill trade it for some bing points-or just about anything.

For $15.99 + free shipping you can buy a new disc version @Newegg. I picked it up from them when they recently had it on sale for $9.99
Marvel Vs. Capcom Origins coming to XBLA/PSN this Sept. for $15. Contains Marvel Super Heroes & Marvel Vs. Capcom with graphics filters, dynamic challenges, & online play with spectator modes and replay saving.

Wow, Capcom will just not stop milking these old releases. It is intriguing, but who would really play these two for an extended period of time with MvC2 already available on XBLA?

For 1200 points, they should have thrown in X-Men vs. Street Fighter and Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter as well.

At least they're implementing the 3SO challenge system.

In catching up on all the video game news from the last 2 days, I'm seeing the COD Map Packs sale being reported on every website and being available from pretty much every retailer that sells digital content.

It made me think that it's kind of odd that Xbox is using it as it's Deal of the Week. It's obviously an Activision sale for 4th of July, it's not like Xbox lined up this sale in any way. I think it would have fit better as a "Sales & Specials" deal since it's publisher driven.

Just a thought that popped into my mind...

I would pick it up if they had included Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter with an unlocked Norimaro. I love that guy. ;)

Should have combined CvSNK and CvSNK 2 instead. There is much more fan demand behind releasing those games again.

And if they were going to do this, where are the Xmen Children of Atom and Xmen vs. Street Fighter characters?

I'd guess the multiplayer community is probably pretty dead by now on AvP. It sucked anyway, so you're not missing much.

I'd still say it's worth playing the marine campaign for $10 or so. Disc version is the better deal, though:

Just being able to play as the godlike versions of Spiderman, Juggernaut, Wolverine, and Captain America again is worth it.

Now, Marvel vs Capcom 1? I fully expect alot of heads to hate that game since they will now be exposed to all the dumb shit in the game.

People who are interested in XBLA release info might want to follow @XBLAReleases on twitter. It updates when games are announced, pass cert, and get release dates. It's run by (Microsoft's) Twisted Pixel's Dan Teasdale who also has a nice calendar of dates and info here.

I thought it would be relevant to post here since upcoming releases are in the OP and get mentions in the thread. I have no affiliation to it. I just find it an interesting resource.

Well those could be a seperate release, like to coincide with X-Men First Class 2?

Forget the haters; I'm loving this as I've never played a proper version of these games at home since I've never touched a Saturn or even seen one out of its box in my life.

These game on demand sales are horrible, don't support these prices for restricted digital content. These old games that can be had ~10 for disc versions should be less than $5 before you even think about it.

Capcom doesn't have the rights to SNK characters while they do for Marvel. Don't yell at Capcom, yell at the new SNK.

This is true but many people want to support the publisher vs. the used game retailer. Especially in Sega's case since they could use every cent possible to avoid bankruptcy.

Interesting list.
LOL @ Zombie Driver. If that game holds anyone interest for more than 20 minutes then they really need to question the contents of their Xbox software library.

I played the demo and enjoyed it, but didn't feel like I needed to spend any more time with the game. I love that the XBLA title is Zombie Driver HD. Considering the PC version runs in higher resolutions and looks as good as any XBLA game, I can't imagine where that HD is going to come from. Maybe they'll redo some models and textures, but I assume it will look pretty much the same.
Nostalgia is a funny thing. You remember games being better than they really are. I would've been really excited about this a few years ago, but then I saw the Wii version and it put everything into perspective......
Agreed. Of course there have been a few XBLA releases of old games that people have gone nuts over that I just couldn't understand, even though I loved the games when they originally came out.

Nice to see the unlockable stuff again. Wish they'd have left all that in MVSC2. Also I second the need for xmen vs sf.

for those considering avsp i would stay far away from that turd. mp is dead, single player marine campaign was decent, the other 2 not so much. i rented it 6 months ago beat it in about 2 days. now if the game was $5 and under maybe for the marine campaign other that i would say pass. just got my capcom digital collection in from newegg cant beat $15 bucks :)
Dear God, Nights?!

C'mon Konami, you know wanna announce Snatcher HD.
I would buy this day one. Do it!!!:applause:

Time to get a Saturn Hitman, they were fantastic!

I'd like to see a remake of Dragon Force. Mr. Bones would be fun too.
Time to get a Saturn Hitman, they were fantastic!
If the games didn't cost as much as current system games that would be awesome, but all the good ones are $30 & up so no thanks, I'll just wait for ports.

Why is that bad form? We're all getting pretty heavily winded up about Jet Set Radio and NiGHTS. Then SEGA will deliver a final blow with the HD re-release of Shenmue 1&2 (rumored to be finished already), which will 3-6 months timed exclusive to one of their retail collection discs (together with Jet Set Radio and NiGHTS), akin to their Dreamcast Collection. Release late 2012 or early/spring 2013.

By re-releasing Jet Set Radio and NiGHTS, people will continue to believe in the possibility of Shenmue, while still buying Jet Set Radio and NiGHTS, thus they keep making money and they keep people hyped. With the disc-only release at the start, they get even more people to buy Jet Set Radio and NiGHTS (and some to buy it twice), thus making even more money PLUS the money they get from the sheer mass of people who have been waiting for them to confirm the HD re-release of Shenmue for the last couple of years.

Keeping Shenmue as their ace card, long up their sleeve, is simply the best move from a business standpoint.

At this point, it seems all but certain that the Shenmue HD rumor is completely false. For a company with as much of a questionable financial position as Sega has been lately, they would not sit on completed games for 18 months just to be a tease to its fans. I have no doubt that there will be Shenmue HD versions in the future at some point, but they're not tied at all to that rumor.

I don't know if this question has been answered, but are there any licensing issues out there that are preventing Sega from rereleasing Panzer Dragoon Saga?

I don't know if there is, but I'm sure anything Sega's made in the past that isn't nailed down will be put on PSN/XBLA/iOS/Steam in HD over the next few years.

Their questionable financial situation would make it an even better idea to make certain to maximize income on such a high-end product, which is more than likely to outsell any of their other recent HD remakes - possibly even combined. One of the reason Shenmue HD would sell well isn't due to nostalgia and people who already bought it, but because it's bought up every single time anybody utters "Sega" and "HD" within the same page, which informs new gamers not only of the existance of Shenmue, but also of how well-liked the game is, due to a high level of quality.

None of the releases on the Dreamcast Collection sold especially well, because they don't have a fanbase to promote the game for free.
It's not "teasing" the fans: it's getting a larger audience of potential costumers, and such, higher sales.

Even if I might come off as such, I have to add that I don't strongly believe in those particular rumors, but I can see why they would hold back Shenmue 'till late 2012, from a business standpoint.

There's no business sense in delaying potential earnings for up to two years when they need every successful game that they can get.

As I said, Shenmue HD is more likely to happen now than ever with Sega's new focus, but it'll have nothing to do with that silly rumor. They're already working on Sonic Adventure 2, Jet Set Radio, and Nights, so expect a lot more since they're cheaper to make than original games.

SEGA has finally realized that all their new bad games are costing them too much money and that it's just easier and more profitable for them to rehash their old good games.

That said, Shenmue has been a financial failure every time it's been released. I don't expect that to change for the inevitable digital re-release.

If anything Marvel's first fighting game with Capcom was X-Men then Marvel Super Heroes after that the first major crossover came out, which was X-Men vs. Street Fighter. After that the crossovers continued with Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter and onwards to the Marvel vs. Capcom series.

Alright. This seems nice nd all, but in the website I found out about this release, people kept bringing up capcom vs SNK. See Im not yound, but im not too old so I dont recall much of those games.

Capcom vs. SNK just gets brought up alot because arguably it's the best crossover title Capcom has done. That and seems the toughest to rerelease because of SNK not giving permission to use those characters.

Ya know...I was just looking through the arcade releases from the past year or so, and there are SO many games that I've been waiting on sales on. This is the basic list I've got:

Sonic 4: Episode II (too new...won't hold it against them yet)
Trials Evo (too new...won't hold it against them yet)
Diabolical Pitch
South Park: Tenorman's Revenge
I Am Alive
Alan Wake's American Nightmare
The Simpson's Arcade Game
Amy
NFL Blitz
Apples to Apples
Scene It? Movie Night
War of the Worlds
MLB Bobblehead Pros
Dead Block
Deadliest Warrior Legends
Backbreaker Vengeance

All these damn games that have never seen a sale (plus others that I'm sure many of you have been waiting on) and yet we see the same rehashed deals over and over again. It's funny, once I go a little further past those games, it seems like almost every game has been on sale. Is it just me or are sales on XBLA games not as common as they used to be?
