Just finished reading The Godfather. I might go to walmart now to get the DVDs. :whistle2:k
the whole chain itself wasn't bought out, but it's very possible the individual stores were.
Checked the wiki ...

Over 1,000 of Eckerd's stores were purchased by CVS and converted to the CVS name throughout late 2004 and 2005, eliminating the Eckerd name from markets such as Florida and Texas, which had once been amongst the chain's strongholds.

Also,

On August 23, 2006, the Wall Street Journal reported that Rite Aid will acquire 1,858 Eckerd Pharmacy and Brooks Pharmacy US stores from the Jean Coutu Group for US$3.4 billion. Rite Aid announced that the two chains would be converted to the Rite Aid name, retiring the 109-year-old Eckerd banner. The deal is expected to close on or about March 3, 2007, when the Eckerd name is expected to be retired.

It is not yet known how many existing Eckerd stores or Rite Aid stores will be closed as a result.
ah good times on gears. I stopped playing though about a month ago when I got NBA street and crackdown and now baseball. I want to start playing it online again, but fear of all the glitchers is scaring me away. Might just wait for the next update to hop back into it.
Ah there aren't too many glitchers. I play a lot with a person who knows pretty much all of them though so they don't really annoy me. The only one that pisses me off is the chainsaw glitch. My favorite glitch is the war machine troika glitch. People always flip out when they get chainsawed by a shotgun or they get downed by an automatic sniper (although all it does is change the look of the way the lancer fires it is crazy how pissed off people get when they get shot at after the glitch has been done).

I still can't do the war machine glitch so I just get to enjoy people getting flipped out by it.

holy shit! i didn't know any of that. when i was in college i worked in several eckerds as a pharmacy technician. the eckerd/brooks website claims they're the 4th largest retail chain in the country with over 46,000 employees. they don't say anything about them changing names this month, but i guess we'll see in the near future.

Sad, the last thing this world needs is 2000 more Riteaids.

because i can't afford to be unemployed and i need at least a part time job to pay my bills until i get a real job in my field. i have $1100/month in bills between student loans, car payment, credit card, cell phone. that doesn't include food, mortgage or utilities. if i dont work, i don't eat and it can take months to find a management level job.

i'll love them if i actually hear anything back from the places i've applied. i need a job ASAP. i seriously don't know what i'm going to do if i dont have atleast a part time job by the end of the week. my brand new fucking car could get repo'd if i can't make my payment next month. it sucks being an adult and having responsibilities/bills.

What sucks even more is being stuck with $2k in credit card debt and yet be owed $4k by your own father...

There's a big difference between careers and jobs. Jobs are what you do to pay bills, careers are what you do with your life.
Kick his ass, Seabass.
Haha, my mom actually had the audacity to say to me, "well you'd get paid sooner if you helped out more" Yeah, I'm gonna believe that considering I've been owed this money for 2 months now from when I formally quit the job. Then I spent the last month and a half "helping out" almost every day as it is and I've only seen $400 of what I'm owed. As far as I'm concerned I don't think I'll ever be seeing that money so to hell with it, I'm finding a job to pay my bills and let me save up enough money to move to California for law school.

I say fuck all to this entire state.

I can't even figure out how or why a father would need to borrow money from his own son, and I have no idea why you'd ever expect to get paid back. The man gave you life, let it go.

I didn't lend him any money, it was from working for his business for 4 months.

I'm gonna go to bed and hope these two gnarly ass blisters I have on the back of my hand don't pop.

I mean, I say they're nasty but they aint as bad as the one Kyle had.

They didn't have the Godfather collection at walmart, so I just ordered it from buy.com with google checkout. $24.99 is damn good for that set, but I didn't want to have to wait for it. Oh well, I wasn't going to watch them tonight anyway.
I'm looking for a job right now too and I must say, I love these online applications.
I hate the personality quiz things they all include. It's basically 50-100 questions all asking "are you an asshole" or "will you steal from us"?

damn, the puss was just pourin out of that sucker. Nastiest/biggest blister I have ever seen.

How does it even ever reach that point? I'm assuming it was a cooking related burn that caused that.

The Winner sucks. I'm going to give it a couple more chances, but it ain't great right now.

Also what's up with the subliminal laugh track. After the first commercial break they would have a very low volume laugh track that was almost unhearable. Also they have laugh track at stuff that's not funny. Rob said; "hey Jimmy." and we got a laugh why?

Man, I hate dipshits on Live. My roomy has been chatting with this one guy in the south that claims that hes an MP in the Marines. And he kept going on and on in a drunken stupor that he can make one call and have cops at our door. I swear, this guy is a total fucktard. And on top of that, seeing as they were on using the cam and everything, there is no fucking way in hell this guy would be accepted in the armed forces. A dumbass football jock, yes, but no where near the armed forces. Hed be kicked out for failure to adapt and would have to drop at least 50 pounds instantly...
Oh, my DVR allows you to do that. What cable service do you use? If it's Time Warner, I would imagine that it would all be pretty standard from cable box to cable box.
Cox Cable out here. Wish I had Comcast as they seem to roll out new things much earlier. For example they had HBO on demand in this area over a year before Cox brought it. By the time Cox got it, I had dropped HBO...

I could switch to Verizon FIOS TV, but the cost would be about the same so I don't feel like going through the hassle at the moment. I think it would be cheaper if I ever want to go HD so when that happens I'll probably switch.

I agree with you wubb that Cox sucks. Shit it wasn't until probably a week or so ago that they added NBC, ABC, and FOX HD local channels here. For several years, it was just CBS, which pissed me off to no end. Honestly, I think it was less than a week ago that they finally added them. I didn't know until about 10 mins ago where they ran a Cox commercial, and underneath in a banner it said that they had just added them. That was my biggest beef with them for a while now. Now its being replaced by the fact that wwe don't get Showtime or The Movie CHannel on demand here yet. But HBO, Cinemax, and Starz have been available for almost 3 years now. While other Cox markets get a shit ton more than here...

Rite Aid buying out another pharmacy cracks me up. They nearly went completely under years ago (or at least their stock price plummeted) when a big fraud scandal broke from their management. I thought they'd end up being bought out by somebody else (CVS probably) not the other way around.

g'mornin OTT. stupid dog woke me up. decided he needed to bark his head off for like 5 minutes straight because of the mailman.

Everytime my friend gives his dog the SPEAK command and he barks, I comment that it would be significantly more impressive if there were a command to get the dog to shut the hell up.

Pretty good weekend here.

Went and saw Zodiac on Saturday night (300 was sold out for the entire night at 7). I was really impressed, atypical Fincher.

Spent most of the day yesterday working on a comedic short script my friends and I are shooting in two weeks for a contest. We rewrote most of the script after letting it sit for 2 weeks and deciding a lot of it wasn't funny enough. Then we went to this ridiclous place in Cambridge, MA called The Garment District to buy costumes. Great times.

Hey, xChika- Remember when I told you I applied at the local hospital? De-clizz-ined. I'm honestly not suprised since I have zero work/education experience.

Maybe someone can explain this to me. I'm on my parent's computer during spring break cause I didn't feel like bringing my tower home. So when we bought the computer and on the little sticker on the front, it says 512 MB of RAM. Yet, I looked in the Systems thing in the control panel and it says it only has 384 MB of RAM. Is there something wrong here?

My guess would be you have 512MB total meaning RAM plus some dedicated to an integrated video card. So you have 384MB RAM and 128MB integrated video memory.
