My guess would be you have 512MB total meaning RAM plus some dedicated to an integrated video card. So you have 384MB RAM and 128MB integrated video memory.
Yeah, that looks like the answer. eMachines are some tricksy tricksy bastards,.
I have appearances to keep up, mortal.
A likely excuse.
All that wangmotation finally caught up with him
Too much motion, not enough wang.
Maybe someone can explain this to me. I'm on my parent's computer during spring break cause I didn't feel like bringing my tower home. So when we bought the computer and on the little sticker on the front, it says 512 MB of RAM. Yet, I looked in the Systems thing in the control panel and it says it only has 384 MB of RAM. Is there something wrong here?
As wubb said, it's using 128MB for the GMA900/950 video card for the on-board video, though unless you're doing anything 3D with the PC, it's only really using about 8MB of that 128MB.

I'd highly recommend bumping up the memory on that thing from 512MB to 1GB, as it'll help XP (and Vista) run better. Plus, the video card's frame memory will only be 1/8th of the total memory, not 1/4th.

I recommend just buying a new sticker that says "1GB of RAM". Much cheaper.

Yeah, that it would. :D

Why not go for the 2GB RAM, while you're at it?

I'm a big fan of just buying the 'Protected by ADP security' stickers for your windows vs. actually paying a monthly fee.

I'm sure you've heard that numerous times in your life.

I went with the "Guardian" sign and sticker set.

Is there nothing that stickers can't improve?

If you're being serious do you know a place you can just buy the stickers?
I'm sure you've heard that numerous times in your life.
Nope, can't say that I've heard that. Plenty of instances of too much on both counts, though no complaints to be heard. :D Just ask your mom.

Strell's health, apparently.
Burn.
Signs point to no.

Sorry, we actually paid for it for awhile, but now we just sport the signs and stickers.

There's gotta be somewhere on the internet that sells them though.

Hmm... wonder if I should take the Guardian sign with me when we move.

Yeah, I think this computer definitely needs a RAM upgrade sometime soon. XP runs ungodly slow. Plus, as I just learned WoW definitely does not run on this computer, not that I'd be playing WoW that much on this computer.

It's just that you can't hear complaints from your hand and/or a pet billy goat.

You've obviously never had a billy goat experience.

Yay, last week of this quarter, and then nearly two weeks of break. I'm still debating whether or not I should start working again. It's been nearly three months since I started my indefinite leave. Stay at home, or go back to work? Hmm...

Also, does anyone have any idea when all the channels will switch to HD? Comedy Central looks like utter shit on a big screen, and it's really annoying. I want to watch South Park in HD (without paying for new discs/downloads).
You've obviously never had a billy goat experience.
Probably more enjoyable than a PS3 experience.

Now, now Shrike. Be nice to the son of the village bicycle. He might develop a complex.

Is "bicycle" the new PC term for "idiot"? :whistle2:s

Does everyone ride the village idiot down there in St. Louis?
I wear the human pants!
I guess that explains the well and the bucket of lotion, then.

Depends if Strell's in town or not. In that case, yes, they do.

That Circuit City God of War II tshirt is pretty cool.

The back of it, anyway.

To where? A sasparilla at the drug store?

Or do you call it a saloon?

Actually, it's a cave. We don't have any of those fancy buildings around here.

Checked out of curiosity and you can buy them on eBay. A set of Brinks decals with a yard sign goes for $60+.

One time a ADT salesman was going door to door around my neighborhood. So he knocked on my door. Then he began to give this long winded sales pitch. Reali nie guy, very professional. Finally after a few minutes of him talking I say no thank you.

"Well about some stickers, and a sign. We will sale you the sign, and stickers for $100."

No thanks man, an ADT scares away a crackhead, but a pro thief looks at it like a challenge.

I just thought it was funny cause he went from "we're the number one security company, you'll be safer in your home." to "how bout some stickers."

My bet would be he pockets the money he makes from that little side business.
oh my word.
Now THAT is quality entertainment. I wouldn't pay $600 for a PS3, but I sure as hell would pay $600 for a squirrel catapult. And Strell... I think you've been jerkin it too hard. Give it a break man.
My bet would be he pockets the money he makes from that little side business.
Wouldn't doubt it. If I'm going door to door and no one is buying. I got to make some money on the stickers.

Well crap. I figured it wasn't just me because I'm getting this message:

"We're sorry, but Gmail is temporarily unavailable. We're currently working to fix the problem -- please try logging in to your account in a few minutes."
