ZUNE and your X360 - ZUNE HD Now in 64GB - Latest Update Now Supports AVI/XviD

I can dream, can't I? ;)

I don't know who they're making these puny players for...I don't know anyone who has less than 60GB's of music in their collection.

The HD is wicked sexy but it's useless if I can't bring my music with me.
I keep hearing this. How much are you willing to pay if they made one?
I'd easily blow some of my college refund check on a 64 gig version....

If 32gb is 290, I'd pay 375 for a 64 gig knowing that 64 gigs ain't common in the solid state world yet like 32 gigs

I'm waiting till black friday on the zune hd....i have a feeling there's going to be huge sales and i'd be disappointed

Precisely. I'm at the point now where, whenever I add an album to my 80GB, I've got to delete one from it! I thinned out my podcast subscriptions and deleted any videos/pics from the unit but it's still pretty packed.

More realistically it would cost $475+. That's why they didn't make one.
Do you think installing Parallels would help me use it on a mac?
I don't know what Parallels is but you can always install bootcamp so you can boot your Mac into a real OS.

I think i'm gonna get the 16 gig. I'm getting tired of ipod now. Price doesn't seem to bad but I wished the black one was 32GB and the platinum 16.

This isn't the ideal place for this I suppose, but I don't know that there is an ideal place, so...

Any reason the Zune (or Ipod, for that matter) don't support .ogg format? It's not unheard of for mp3 players to do so, I have a little iRiver player that I use for workouts that plays it. Something to do with software licenses or something? Format just isn't popular enough? Wish we could get one of the popular players to support it.

Anyone Notice How the Zune HD, Windows 7, and Windows Mobile 6.5 and WM7 have basically the same Font and Interface.

can you say media integration. well Windows 7 using the Media Center feature, which ties in with the 360

at some Point the Zune HD had better mesh with the 360 the same way a PC can.

well an iPod touch is $400 with 32GBs of memory, and I expect there to be a 64GB touch on sale in September for around the same price, if not a little more.

I'd pay $500 for something one of these devices with 64-80GB of memory.

If you look at the history of these devices, they usually up the memory by double and they are priced at the highest priced model from before, so realistically speaking, a $400 64GB iPod touch wouldn't be out of the question.

i decided to try hooking my 8g to my 360 to watch some videos, didnt play them. then i hooked it up to my computer and it said i had wrong id and erased all the albums that werent currently on my computer. Also it says i have a DRM error. Any advice?
very few players support flac either.
Yeah, that was going to be my next question. I didn't think I'd get an answer to either though.
I need mac compatibility:/
.....Doesn't Apple pride themselves on being able to run windows on their computers?!?!?!

Yall mac users brag about such things! You better bust out bootcamp or parrells or whatever its called!

I'm debating if I should sell my 16GB Touch to get one of these. I could probably get $200+ for it, so it would basically be trading it for a ZuneHD. Although, then I lose my apps I bought.
Is this case any good? I'm tired of putting my Zune 80 with the fat leather case into my pocket. The thing is way too bulky and doesn't really make for a good portable music player. I need something that's smaller (pretty much the same exact size as the Zune). Should I go with this one or does anyone have another suggestion?

I have this same case for my 30GB and I love it .

Not sure if I should get a

16 GB Zune HD or a

16GB iPod Touch, because it has awesome games and Aps

I will wait to see what Steve Jobs unveils in September 8th probably a new iPod Touch with Camera.

Is there any way to move stuff from the music section to the podcast one? I have some interviews under music that are a couple hours long each. They don't start again from the same point where you left off. Can I create a section under my podcasts and move them all there? If I can get them there I can start again from where I left off.

Also some of my bands' names are in all caps, small caps, etc on my Zune, but on my PC they're not. How do I fix this?

not sure if you can "move" items from the music section directly to the podcast one.

but if you right click the mp3 on your desktop [ or where ever the destination is ], and click properties, then details, then you change the Genre to "Podcast", it will appear in the Podcast section when you drag it into the Zune software [ note: you have to drag it into the music section ].

not sure if it'll remember the playback position though.

why why why do they have to keep making these addictive expensive fun ass gadgets that we don't need, but just GOTTA HAVE?
In a good economy, I'd pick this sucka up on day one, but as it is, I have no choice but to sell my Ipod 160 first, just so I have some money for it.

damn!

I just read that too.

what's up with these odd screen resolution. I think my phone (env touch) has a better screen resolution. Battery life seems better than the 120. I truly wonder if there will be an upgrade program for those who bought the zune in the past year or so before the announcement? I am topping about almost 20 gigs of songs from my 300 cd collection, and don't really watch video on my zune..so im wondering if I should be an early adapter on this and taking a big risk? :|

Also wondering if I have to re-ripp all my stuff again or will let it me dump my collection again from the Zune software?

Why would you need to re-ripp? The music is on your PC, and even if you don't have it on the PC the software allows you to import your songs from your Zune to your PC. All you would have to do is sync the new Zune with the PC...that's it.

I still don't know why they don't include native divx/xvid support since the 360 does. That could very well be the pivotal feature that starts luring folks away from Apple.

All I can think of is it must be part of their agreements with studios to not allow it.

It's the biggest reason why.

Wow...Newegg says that they're already sold out of 16GB units. They're not accepting anymore pre-orders for it.

Has there been any confirmation from MS about what the firmware upgrade for the existing Zunes will do? Or even if there will be one?

hmm I figured it might be that way.

Anyways I didn't see it, but the Zune HD considered a "Play for Sure" device, meaning will it finally let us play digital copies that comes with DVD's/BR's??

My bro told me about it but this is my first time reading it. I'll personally be good with the 120gb Zune Gears edition. But the Microsoft Points feature is an interesting addition.

Well I still have my 30 GB Zune and love it. Today I just bought a one month Zune Pass Card to try it out and I am loving it. For the exception of them not having a lot of the progressive rock I wanted, they still had a lot of great music. I easily got my $15 worth and will be sure to continue the service.

So so sad that the ZUNE HD lacks a Camera, because it will be missing out on the Augmeneted Reality Aps coming soon.

Whats that, you don't know what Augmented reality is?

Well Imagine your Twitter account, you can look at your screen an see super imposed Icons over real people or directions to somwhere mapped right to the street level.

well anyways what is the Rush to Pre-order???

#1. Its not like theres a limited supply or they will run out.

#2. RROD you should know better by now Never to buy Version 1.0 of Microsoft hardware

#3. Wait for a Black Friday deal.

The only good point MN made was about the RRoD. I'm going to wait it out because of potential problems with launch hardware. Plus, my Zune 30GB still works very well.
