as much as I agree with the above poster, I do have to say that myspace>friendster Friendster was always very slow when loading pages, myspace was 10X faster. If you are going to get into one of those types of sites, go with myspace, not friendster.

increase the size of your virtual memory, run some virus software, run some spyware software, clean up un-used software, delete old files you don't need, and do a general clean up. If that doesn't help, buy a new Dell and give me your computer.
