Target coupon- 5 dollars off 25 dollar purchase
coupon_birthday_toys.gif

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items, or raincheck "scams." Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Some info from BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include city, state, store, game, system and price. For example:
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
Super Soup Soufflé, Xbox 360, $4.98

Special thanks to Mephitical for this great tool for locating clearance titles which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance-- often games will not be tagged correctly. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Remember, the lowest known price will be posted since the listed item could be higher or lower at your store. Here are the current deals:

I will probably go back for Lego Star Wars. I had it, but I never went thru the entire game. I have a lot of achievements that I was close to getting.

If someone who has an extra Folklore would be interested, I'd be glad to pick up a Blue Dragon (360) or a Jericho (PS3) to trade with you straight up. Thanks for your attention!
Omaha, 132nd & Maple:

Ninja Gaiden Sigma (PS3) - $14.98
Heroes of Might & Magic V, Kane & Lynch, Tabula Rasa (PC) - $6.24
Jerico, Two Worlds (PC) - $7.48

Was at the one on Sorenson and Folklore (PS3) was $41.99, Ninja Gaiden was $29.99. I probably missed the PC clearance isle there.

Got Ninja Gaiden...almost K&L for the PC, but something about 2 MBA classes starting next week prohibited that. I'll post the last store I will check either tomorrow or Wednesday.
I will have to check that out...I might pick up K&L for $7.

Although I wont be able to get there until Wednesday...so it'll probably be gone.

I think I'm the only one who cares, but the folding gaming chairs with built-in speakers dropped to 75% today at two of my Targets (western Washington) - $9.98.

My Target has 2 copies of Folklore stickered at 29.98 but Ill stop by tomorrow and have it scanned, if it scans for 14-15ish Ill pick it up and trade you for Blue Dragon. BTW is you copy of Blue Dragon still sealed?

I'm jealous that some of you can pick up Folklore. I been to 10 different Targets and not one single copy. This game and I were not meant to be. lol :(

Same here (visited 3 different stores) Folklore, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, & Blue Dragon have ALL been sold out for weeks (when the clearance prices were still 50%)

Carlisle PA Target had no more copies of Folklore (PS3) or Jericho (PS3) left but plenty of PC games at $12 and under including:

Jericho
Kane & Lynch
Two Worlds

Spider-man Friend or Foe was still marked $24.98.

Blue Dragon was still in the glass case at $59 but scans at $29.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma (PS3) for $29.98 in the glass case.

Shadow of the Colossus for $9.98

SW Lego Original Trilogy (360) for $13.98 and a few others that I'm forgetting.

Also, I have an extra copy of the Star Wars Empire at War expansion (sealed) that I'd like to offer for trade for Jericho (PS3) if anyone would be interested?

I went to a newly opened Target last night (Near Junction of Rt 1 and Rt 322 in Glen Mills PA) they had a better selection then my usual Target

Picked up Spiderman: FOF for $12.48 (360)

They also had

PS3

Ninja Gaiden Sigma $29.98
Folklore $29.98
Jericho $24.98 (I think)

PS2

Shadow of the Colossus - $13.XX

I just picked up blue dragon yesterday for $14.99 at the target in san marcos tx. So you all might want to see if maybe blue dragon is cheaper at yall's targets.

Dead Head Fred finally dropped to 14.98, Jefferson City MO Target.

They also moved the game clearance back to electronics from the toy dept and it's all on one end cap.

Went to 2 Targets about 10 miles apart. One had Spiderman FoF and Avatar for $12.48. The other still had them at $24.98. Also, only the second had Bee Movie game and Blue Dragon and of course they were still at their old prices. I did find a Zoo Tycoon Complete Collection there for $4.98 which will make a great present for my daughter's birthday this weekend!

On the plus side I was able to use that $5 off coupon at both stores - on games at the first one and on the $4.98 game + grocery items at the second store (!).
Has anybody else had luck with this routine? I keep getting turned down at electronics, but if this seems to be 'policy' of sorts, I'll go back and try again.
That's B.S. I think they are being lazy.

The reason I did this because all the games were like marked the 24 dollar mark except the rat game which did not scan and I knew the real price which was in this thread.
So I took it up to customer service where they scanned the game with their "master database" Which actually pulled up the game's price and then the girl printed the new price.
I then asked her about Bee Movie game and she changed the price for me.
She's like oh well, we just haven't updated our prices on the floor.
Bah that's lame. I wish there was some sort of consistency..

Don't do it through the electronics section..

Good Luck!

Picked up Spiderman: FoF over the weekend and have played about half of it. It's a fun little game. Reminds me a lot of TMNT.

Wanted Ninja Gaiden but between two Targets there was only one copy and it was marked $29.98. I doubt that will be around to go any cheaper.
I'm jealous that some of you can pick up Folklore. I been to 10 different Targets and not one single copy. This game and I were not meant to be. lol :(
Are you serious about the 10 Targets? Have you heard of calling, or trying a stock check? The game is only $32 in like new condition on half.com - if you really drove to 10 Targets at an average distance of 5 miles apart, you drove 50 miles and used about 2 gallons of gas (assuming you have a cheapass economy car). That's about $7 in gas, plus a time cost of at least two hours, right? Say you get paid $10 an hour and you've now spent $27 to save $15 on a game.

Here's a Folklore stock check link if there are any more Targets you don't want to drive to.

Logic ftw! I always use gas consumption when calculating the cost of a clearance game. But when it comes down to it, the fun of it is the hunt for the game.

I agree that the thrill is a huge part of it, but sometimes it's easy to get consumed by a certain game and end up spending more that you expected. I try to restrict my obsessive Target trips to the one that's within walking distance of my work, and maybe twice a month to one or two others that are near other stores where we need to run errands.

Like someone else said it is the fun of the hunt. Plus the Targets were in my direction of places I was already heading. 3 Targets along the way to school. 1 Near my friend's house. Another near a party I was heading to. 2 along the route to my girlfriend's work. And maybe 2 that are somewhat out the way, but nothing major.

But thank you very much for that link, never knew that it existed. ^__^

--- Edit ---
I just checked that link. All the stores I went to that do not have it...says it is available on the website. :(

I just figured out you can take that link and put in the different ASIN number to find whatever you want. Just do a search and go to "Additional info" to find the ASIN number.

Good Luck!
Today I'm going to go straight to the CS desk with the DCPI, ask them to check the price, and explain that I saw it at another Target for $14.9X and this target has it in stock if asked. I'll post with results.

Picked up Blue Dragon and Folklore for $14.xx from Target in West Hills, CA

They had like 2 Blue Dragon's left and about 15 Folklore's left (o_O)

Just picked up Blue Dragon for $14.xx and Spiderman FoF for 12.XX. They had Folklore but it scanned at $29.xx. If anyone finds a Folklore for $14.xx and would want to trade for Blue Dragon or any of the other games in the $12-$14 range let me know. The local store had a bunch of them, Avatar, Bee Movie, Spiderman FoF, Blue Dragon, etc.

Thanks OP!

Which store? I'm going to hit up the Washington, PA store on my way home tonight looking for one as well. Wheeling, WV store was out when I was there the other day. If they have an extra I'll grab some.

Do you happen to haev the DCPI # for SpiderMan on your receipt?

I asked today about the YMMV mark downs and they said its purely based on selling point for each item, so I guess it will forever be a YMMV situation.

With that said, can anyone pick me up a copy of folklore at the $15 price point? I can trade or pay cash

I picked up both Tabula Rasa and Universe at War for the PC for $12.48 each on clearance. This was in the Target in the Middletown Galleria.

Alright here's what I did, somebody horded all the Folklore's at my local Target they were priced at 14.98 I saw them 2 days ago. I went down the next 2 miles and there was another Target bought a copy of Folklore, it wasn't 14.98 at that Target yet (still 29.98) so I returned it the next day to the clearanced one, and waited in the store (took a few mins) until they stocked the game and picked up it with the new clearance price.

I called the other Targets, gave them the DCPI# and there prices were still 29.98 and 41.98 With gas being 3.50/gallon here I figure it wouldn't be worth hunting around any longer.

Also for anyone who's looking for the game's in store, it's best to call them give the DCPI# as Target's in store inventory check on Target's website isn't accurate at all.

There's nothing like a "master database" that will tell them the lowest price at any store. It sounds like in your case, the markdown had been sent to the store, but had not been initialized by the store's pricing team. They were nice enough to initialize it right there.

That should be rare situation. Markdowns are sent to the store each weekday, and are expected to be initialized that day. The pricing team got there at 6am or earlier, and should be finished with the days workload around 2:30 (simply given an 8 hour work day). So in order for your situation to be a possibility, you would have to arrive on the day the markdown was sent, but before it was initialized. Alternately, the store could simply be behind in their markdowns, but that's bad for the store's numbers.

Furthermore, the person at guest services (or anyone other than members of the pricing team) is not supposed to initialize markdowns, because it screws with the pricing team. Did your guest services person go back to the floor and mark the rest of the games with the lower price? Well she certainly dropped the price on them, and obviously having games marked higher than they are priced is bad for business.

Not a deal, but I just had to mention it. Target in Long Beach, Ca. has an endcap full of Crackdown for $29.98. Based on estimates I'd say there were close to 500 copies. I couldn't believe how many they had, just insane. I took some pics with my phone I'll post them up later if anyone cares.

Wow, first Northridge, now Long Beach; SoCal is just sitting on a huge surplus of Crackdown. I'll have to see your photos 'cause an estimate of 500 sounds awfully high! I can't imagine how a store could hold so many...

I went to my local Target and asked the CS rep about it; the only price database they have is their own, and they can check if other stores have any units in stock. I had to call another store that had NGS and ask how much ($30, but it'd be about $10 in gas for the trip). I was looking at over $40 either way.

Today, stopped at three Targets that were all nearby and on my way home.

The first two were strikeouts, having nothing of interest except DS Elements of Destruction at 13.98 (and I wanted 9.98)

The third Target had Wii My Word Coach and Avatar Burning Earth at 12.48 (24.98 or 34.98 for either of them at the other Targets).

Also at this 12.48 price were Wii Tony Hawk Proving Ground, 360 Spiderman Friend or Foe, and 360 Bee Movie.

DS games that were on clearance (Spiderman 3, Elements of Destruction, and the GBA games) were 13.98 at every store.

Furthermore, the online stock checker said that Folklore was at all three Targets. It was not at any of them.

While in the mall, checked local Target. Unfortunately, Blue Dragon was stickered at $41.98 discounted from the original MSRP $59.99. Had them ring it up and check, same thing.

They did have a few Lego Star Wars Original Trilogy 360s for the expected deal prices as well as a varied bunch of cheap PC games that I passed over, but nothing else. As usual, my local Target is rarely in on these deals or the few games get scooped up earlier by those with lighter schedules.
